True Detective: Night Country: Part 6 (2024)
Season 4 is terrible
Ok, so Season 1 was great. Season 2 was good. Season 3 was decent. Season 4 was bad. Stupid story lines, sub-par acting. This season was just not good. It was tough to watch but after spending hours of my time watching it you have to finish it, unfortunately. The supernatural side of it became pretty annoying, seeing and hearing ghosts. This season of True Detectives lacked the thrill and suspense of the other season. It's just wasn't good. It started out ok but very quickly fell off as you can see in the decline in ratings each episode of the season. I believe any positive rating has to be a bot or a person paid by HBO to ensure that the overall rating of the season wasn't too low. Watch at your own risk, you can't get the time back.
Uncle Buck (1989)
An awesome classic
Uncle Buck ranks as one of the best 80s classics and as one of John Candy's best comedic performances. The dancing scene with Marcie cracks me up every time I see it, it really never gets olds. The birthday pancake making is hilarious! Macaulay Culkin is great in this movie as well.
Growing up in the 80s if you didn't have a ten crush in Tia, you're lying. I'm not sure how anyone could give this movie a rating less than ten stars. Like, how much better of an 80s comedy do you want? Sure the mom isn't the best actress but she plays her part well.
Overall this is just a great movie that brings back the nostalgia of growing up in the 80s.
Manifest (2018)
These other reviews can't be real
It's hard for me to understand how anyone could give this show anything over 1 star. This show has so many negatives and no positives.
The story is terrible. Lacks any creativity and is super corny
the acting is some of the worst I think I've ever seen. It's like watching a bad play with first time actors.
This may have been an ok movie but whoever decided to make it a multi season show instead should be fired. I cannot understand who at Netflix thought it was even remotely watchable and deserved multiple seasons.
So, do yourself a favor and find something else to watch you will be happy you did.
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story (2022)
Too cheesy
Wanted to like this movie, but just couldn't. There were some entertaining parts but overall just too corny and cheesy. I get that it's supposed to be a parody and all, but it just splinters off into too many ridiculous (and not in a good way) story lines it becomes hard to watch. The Pablo Escobar stuff is just, well, dumb. The last half of the movie teeters on unwatchable. I really wish they would have brought some more reality into it rather than making it such a cheeseball flick. If you're into that type of movie you will love it, but if you're the type that likes a good movie that is watchable you will struggle with this. It was just bad. That's all there is to say.
Fletch (1985)
Never disappoints.
Fletch is a Chevy Chase classic! This movie was made at a time when Chevy Chase was at the top of his game. Even he says it's his best movie. It encompasses all that makes Chevy one of the best comedic actors of the 70s,80s & early 90s. Chevy does not disappoint with his witty style of comedy. This is one of those movies you can catch at any point and watch. Fun story line paired with Chevy at his peak makes this a timeless classic.
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
A great part of the Star Wars story.
I think this movie (and the other prequels) got a bad rap because they were different from the original trilogy, and they are different. However, this movie is by far the best of the 3 prequels. It tells a great story that's very important to the overall Star Wars storyline. So many awesome characters are in the movie and it helps explain many things we saw in the original trilogy. It's far superior over any of the 3 movies of the last trilogy. I must admit I wasn't necessarily a fan of it the first time I saw it as I'm a child of the original trilogy times but once I got over it being different and accepted it for what it is I love this movie! Give it a chance, watch it again and I'm sure you will find it is a really good movie.
Not Fade Away (2012)
Waste of an hour and 45 minutes
This turns out to be a waste of almost 2 hours. The movie had potential. It was a great story until you get to the end. It abruptly ends with zero closure to any of the story lines that built throughout. It had hope but then just ends on a dime leaving you wondering what the heck did I just watch.
Top Gun (1986)
Not sure who would rate this movie so low
A great American movie classic. One of the gems of the 80s! This movie is a must see and is super entertaining. An avg rating 6.9 is far too low for this great classic!
Caddyshack II (1988)
Just terrible!
I'm an absolute Chevy Chase nut but this is the worst. Ramis was right, this thing should have been scrapped before it was made. Terrible writing. Terrible storyline. Chevy Chase is the only positive in such a train-wreck. Akroyd's character is terrible.
Vegas Vacation (1997)
Such a fun movie!
I don't know how anyone gives this less than an 8. It's such an under-appreciated flick. Chevy Chase is funny as usual in his role as Clark. The rest of the cast is great. Cousin Eddie doesn't disappoint either. One of those movies watch anytime you happen to find it playing.
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
Has to be a joke
This is so bad and corny it has to be a joke. Joke or not it's barley watchable and the plot is ridiculous lol. If it is a comedy/parody. I couldn't even finish this thing it stinks so bad.
The Lost Daughter (2021)
Boring. No conclusion
Seems to build up like somethings going to happen. Never does. You feel like there's going to be some grand thing that occurs and nothing ever does. Total let down. Total waste of 2hrs. Don't do it.
The '80s: Top Ten (2022)
Lots of fun
Awesome show. Lots of fun spotlighting all the best of the 80s top pop culture moments. Rob Lowe is the perfect host for this type of show too. Great show to binge too.
National Lampoon's European Vacation (1985)
Least favorite vacation movie
Of all the REAL National lampoon vacation movies this one ranks last. Of course Chevy Chase is awesome but by far the worst Rusty and Audrey of all the movies. It misses the mark so much they can't even spell Griswold right. Not the worst movie made, but def the bottom of the National lampoon's vacation movies and worst of all, no cousin Eddie.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)
Awesome 80s classic!
I don't know what kind of party poopers rate this movie 7stars, or anything less than a 10 for that matter. A classic fun 80s high school movie. It's one of those movies you enjoy watching whether from start to finish or when you stumble upon it flipping thru channels and catch it midway thru. One of the best of the 80s.
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)
Best Christmas movie ever made.
This is an absolute classic. Best Christmas movie ever made. Only a Scrooge gives it less than 10stars! It wouldn't be the Christmas season without Clark, Eddie, and the family.
Shameless: This Is Chicago (2020)
This show is garbage now.
This show used to be great. Awesome storylines and entertaining. Now, it's just become some bs propaganda show. Last two seasons were bad but now it's just terrible. Pushing covid nonsense that has zero to do with the storyline. Do they have any creativity anymore?
