Undercover Brother (2002)
I see white people
It's time to get funky. Never have i more wanted to cultivate a full blown afro, being a hispanic male of 67 it's very difficult and doesn't suit my handle bar moustache. I have settled to grow a below the belt afro, as a mark of respect to undercover brother. Being a white male its difficult not to take a look at my own life ( 67, living in a basement and whacking off in the tool shed because the walls are awefully thin and the dog trys to join in). Since watching the film i have moved into Compton and i've been sticking it in a man, sorry sticking it too the man ever since. This film has been branded racist, i suggest that the people saying this are the racists (KKK by the way). I owe my new life to undercover brother. On a scale of 1 to 10, i'd give it a A+
Jingle All the Way (1996)
I almost swallowed my Texas chilli bowl i laughed so hard
Arnold at his very best, or should i say the Governor of California. Every Christmas since this masterpiece came out i've awaited it's return. When its on i put on my 'Jingle all the way clothes' complete with Cinncinati bow-tie. I wear these to fully enjoy the experience of viewing 'jingle'. At a mere 23 years of age i count myself so lucking i discovered it so soon in life. I see it as a mix between the Green mile and Around the world in 40 days. The main aspects of the film are comedy gold, a father desparetly trying to save the relationship with his son. Whilst his wife is under threat from a neighbour who'd like to have rumpy pumpy with her. Not since mowser in Police Academy have i expressed such anger at a film character. i had to take my Ritalin to calm down in the end Ha ha. Anyone who hasn't seen this film should make it a must see. Its the 90s equivalent of the Godfather. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it a well deserved 16 thumbs up, Chenoble style. Holla
Boyz n the Hood (1991)
Boyz n the hood, the hood comes to life
What can be said about boyz in the hood other than cult classic. Me and my crew love to spend chillin out time after a dance battle watching this. It helps us to focus on the goal of getting out of the ghetto. Lawrence fishburn aka 'Furious' nails his role. Tough yet fair, harsh but sympathetic.uneducated yet wise. He reaches all aspects of the Ghetto community. Following the life of Tre styles from his early years to the beginning of his late teens. we see all the characters grow and flourish in their chosen fields. Be it football, school or being a mack daddy. A truly amazing film i had my tongue jammed in my chin for the majority cos 'i love this film' For those who have seen the film they will agree on this point, why did Ricky have to stop for a pee when they were being hunted down. why damn it, why!!!
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)
News Flash.. Anchorman is king
Never have i seen a film that has united a whole workforce to the point where our very own news team has been formed. each member somewhat acting like they're on screen counterparts. from the introduction to the end i was completely captivated, i personally never knew diversity was an old old wooden ship. so thats what i learnt form the film. The film has been taken to by young and old. i myself had a conversation with a man of 70 years old in work about the film. he agreed on most of the points i was making mainly about the jazz flute being the most noble instrument a man about town could play. so much so i recently purchased one from a flee market on impulse. Many celebs pitch in on the film which also backs up its caliber as a top notch Hollywood film. Bring on anchorman 2 which me and the fellow news team hopes they make. long live the legend of Ron Burgundy, or Papa as we now know him
You Got Served (2004)
10 out of 10, homie
You got served is a real life look at the streets and world many of the younger generation live in. personally me and my crew battle on most weekends, mainly with great success. The writers and directors judged the mood and the speed of the film with a touch of class. i was very impressed with Mr Rad acting as a 'father' figure for the youngsters as these battles can often go wrong and lead to problems outside the ring. its an important point to show winning isn't the be all and end all of the battle. For me and my crew it's about team bonding and a sense of self worth that is fleeting in these modern times. i don't what people others feel about the film, it's a classic for me and the crew. we even copied a few moves
The Raggy Dolls (1986)
Raggy dolls, rules my world
Growing up 15 years ago the raggy dolls was a shining beacon through the long six weeks holidays that arrived and left in what seemed like a heartbeat. Sad sack was a personal favorite of mine, his slow and dopey voice always tugged at my emotions. the mad cap adventures that they used to get involved in every week. It was a golden age of television. any 20 year old will agree, with programs such as fraggle rock, round the twist, thunder cats, superted and of course the poddington peas. gone are these days now and children's television is in a poor state from what it used to be. I personally feel that a TV channel should be dedicated to these classics that all the now grown ups can enjoy at work. maybe time it for us all to leave early on a Friday afternoon and watch it down the pub and enjoy the magical six week holiday feeling that one last time. as i know each and everyone of us misses the long hot and fun summers
