Dexter: New Blood: Sins of the Father (2022)
The most disappointing show ending ever
What was the point in this new series, honestly? I would rather they just left it.
What a pile of rubbish.
The rest of the series however, was like the old Dexter, which makes it worse in a way.
Freaky (2020)
I had high expectations and this did not disappoint
Serial killer/crime, Vince Vaughn, comedy and Blumhouse; what more could you want?! I thoroughly enjoyed this, it is a bit of mindless fun.
Fatherhood (2021)
Everything was perfect
The acting was amazing, Kevin Hart really showed how versatile he was in this, in my opinion.
It feels real, it had me laughing and crying, and thinking about things after I watched this.
It's well worth a try.
Savageland (2015)
If you like True Crime, I highly recommend this!
So for me, mockumentaries are hit and miss but this one is heads above shoulders compared to others I've seen.
I got involved in this case and was almost convinced it was real, but it's interesting as you KNOW what has gone on in the story, regardless of where it leads you.
If you enjoy True Crime I highly recommend you watch this.
All the Bright Places (2020)
Wasted opportunity
I told myself not to compare this film to the book as you usually end up disappointed... However, I can't help but feel if you name a film after a book you should follow the book!
They missed some vital points that build the characters into people you can relate to. This film was bland and I felt like half of it was missing. They could have included so much more detail and made this into something special - completely disappointed.
I wouldn't recommend watching this if you are a fan of the book.
Friday Night Dinner: Dad's Birthday (2020)
Funny as always.
I don't understand why this series has got SO many negative reviews; with the exception of S6 Ep2 I think this series has been as strong as seasons 1 - 5.
In this episode, Martin has his birthday and horrible grandma makes an unexpected visit. Jim has also learnt magic but can he lift the mood up?
Jim is the stand out character as always! But overall I thought it was funny and very enjoyable.
Joker (2019)
Superbly dark and compelling
This film is absolutely amazing. Joaquin Pheonix' acting completely blew me away! I love the different take on the typical Joker story, I also feel it has a more creepy vibe to it. I can see why so many people raved about this film.
Don't F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer (2019)
Wow, one of the best documentaries I've seen.
So let me start by saying I was extremely hesitant to watch this series, I'm a huge animal lover and the thought of any kittens being hurt makes me cry my eyes out. This series is by no means an 'easy watch' and although you may not see anything ultra graphic, the descriptions given in the interviews helps you paint a clear picture whether you like it or not. Please research this documentary before watching it like I had to, if you are sensitive.
This is for sure the BEST documentary I've watched (other than the Ted Bundy tapes), this was so well put together and I was hooked from the start. I didn't particularly like the closing lines though, it's left me with a guilty feeling for having watched this.
It's also left me with a question... Whose second pair of hands were they in the python video???
Last Christmas (2019)
My favourite film in 2019!
I'm not usually a fan of romantic films, however this one took me by surprise.
I thought everything - the acting, the writing, the subtle comedic element which can sometimes be iffy - worked so well.
Definitely worth a watch!
How I Met Your Mother: The Final Page: Part Two (2012)
Just Perfect!
This was the perfect way to end the episode.
Maybe it's slightly different to previous episodes but it was a complete surprise - definitely got me emotional.
