Frequency (2000)
The best movie of 2000!
If you are looking for movie to see with a taut and very well thought out story, than Frequency is it. This is one of the best movies I've seen and probably the best I've seen of the sci-fi genre. I think that it would be highly unlikely for someone to come up with a story better than this! Out of a ten star rating I'd give it nine.
Ging chaat goo si III: Chiu kup ging chaat (1992)
Jackie Chan's best movie!
I thought for sure that Twin Dragons would be the best movie I'll see starring Chan but now I'll have to say that Supercop is better. It did not have the comedy of Twin Dragons but it had way better action. The story was okay and the confrontation between characters could have been better, but the exciting action sequences make up for it! If you like Hong Kong style action, than see this one!
Wo hu cang long (2000)
Horribly done!
I don't see why this movie was nominated for 10 academy awards. This movie had the most pointless plot I ever saw. The characters didn't even have a reason of why they were able to break the laws of physics. As suppose to in "The Matrix" the characters had an excuse of why they were able to jump 50 feet in the air. You couldn't care less about the story and the villain showed no threat or danger to the hero much at all! Even if you want to see this movie out of curiosity, don't!
Drive (1997)
Good for a low budget movie.
My cousin recommended this movie to me but I wasn't looking forward to seeing it, because it's a low budget straight to video film. But he said that once I saw it, I'd like it and he was right. For a low budget action movie this one is actually pretty good. It had interesting martial arts fights, especially because Mark Dacascos is a great martial artist. After seeing this movie, I'm probably his biggest fan besides my cousin. This movie co-starred John Pyper-Ferguson and he delivered a great performance as a ruthless, evil, not to bright villain who also had a comic relief side. Besides good action this movie also had good humorous conversations between Dacascos and Kadeem Hardison.
eXistenZ (1999)
Just plain horrible
Out of all the movies I've seen in my life so far this one would probably be the worst. It's so boring and horribly disappointing that I could hardly follow the plot. I must have dozed off at least three times while watching it! From what I could tell, the movie is about a video game creater who is trying to escape death from assassins. Her game is damaged so to inspect it, she talks her bodyguard into going inside the video game himself. I know the story doesn't "sound" that bad but trust me, it's worse than that bad. From reading this, if you are just curious to see how bad this movie really is, don't! Even if you to chain me to a car and drive me naked through a dozen miles of broken glass you could probably never make me see this one again. Avoid "Existenz" at all costs.

Double Team (1997)
A good action movie!
This would have to be my favorite Van Damme movie, besides "Maximum Risk."
This movie combines James Bond like locales with John Woo like action. Though Double Team was directed by Tsui Hark, but he did a good on this one! Van Damme stars as America's top counter-terrorist and Dennis Rodman stars as an arms dealer. Together they go after a terrorist who has kidnapped Van Damme's wife and unborn son. This movie has pretty good action sequences and they could have been better. Tsui Hark and Van Damme put a lot more entertainment into this movie than Knock Off. This movie and "Maximum Risk" are the best of Van Damme that I've seen, but I'm hoping for "Replicant" once it's released.
Maximum Risk (1996)
Van Damme's maximum best besides Double Team
This Movie is surely Van Damme's MAXIMUM best besides Double Team. It has a good story, cool music, and some pretty interesting and exciting action sequences. I am a fan of Van Damme's acting and martial arts skills but I haven't liked many of his movies. Not because of Van Damme himself, but because of cheap plots and bad action sequences. But this Van Damme movie hits the bullseye and it's worth watching.
Van Damme stars as a policeman in France who finds out that he had a twin brother that he never knew who had been murdered. Wanting to dive more into the mystery of his brother's death he travels to New York and takes his brothers place in hope of some answers. But he gets a lot more than he hoped for because thugs are trying to kill him left and right, so he delivers extreme action, and gives them something to think about(that is if there not all dead yet!). So see this movie if you haven't yet or see it again if you have. If you like Van Damme I'd also recommend Double Team.
