Young Frankenstein (1974)
Danger! Can lead to abdominal cramps in adults due to uncontrollable fits of laughter!
I watched Young Frankenstein again a short time ago just to see if I had outgrown it.
Not a chance. I am still a sucker for the mad, silly, comic genius that makes up this classic favorite.
So many of the lines I had passed on to the next generation without even considering from whence they came but once I realized their source, I shared it with the kids.
They loved it too. It seems we have a classic on our hands.
Game of Thrones (2011)
He who lives by the sword...does not go out with a Bollywood dance number
This one of a kind giga-production is the result of a lot of hard working, talented people. It's rather amazing that such a hoard was able to maintain such a high level of quality for so many years, providing us all with grans entertainment.
Some complain about the ending but how else could it have been? If good had wiped out evil and everyone had kissed, sung a song together and danced in perfect sync, all of the great work that preceded the conclusion would been depleted of any credibility.
The characters of Game of Thrones inhabited a brutal and cynical world that chewed up and spit out the soft and the naive.
This ending rings true to its own world and the epic tale that unfolded within it.
A "happy ever after" ending would have been the greatest disappointment of all.
The New Pope (2020)
You Haven't Seen It If You Haven't Seen It ALL
If you haven't seen episode 6, you haven't seen Leopold Essence.
Hence, you haven't seen The New Pope.
Absolutely brilliant
