House of Terror (1973)
not ur cup of tea
not the worst i ever saw but not your cup of tea at all
i mean it's not the kinda of movie to spend your evening watching or your weekend for suree
its not phsyco for the great director Alfred Hitchcock , & its not based on a novel for Agatha Cristie either so don't expect much
there is not much to talk about in that senseless picture weather in the plot or the acting or the photography or even the directing , the production was poor too so it didn't help in that sense
so i'll be short .. if you are bored & need to spend sometime watching an exciting movie, this one had no suspense or excitement guaranteed
no luck in that one sorry
Poirot: Five Little Pigs (2003)
sometimes even love kills .. very enjoyable death drink to the famous painter
the novel name is driven from a nursery rhyme i read the book first year in colleague & i have to admit it's very enjoyable to watch specially when the script writers respected the original novel , one of my favorite poirots movies of all time
FIVE LITTLE PIGS
is a story being repeated 5 times ( in many flashbacks) by the 5 people who were there 14 yrs ago on an island where a famous painter was poisoned , his wife trailed & executed later
everyone always thought his wife was guilty ,at the present time Lucy Crale (daughter of amyas the painter & his wife)asks poirot to help her discover the truth behind the mystery as she's very sure of her mother's innocence ( caroline )
poirot listens to the 5 witness Philip Blake (amyas's friend) , Meredith Blake (Philip Blake's brother)Elsa Greer (amyas's model & mistress but now she's become Lady Dittisham),Miss Williams (the governess), Angela (Caroline's younger sister) stories about the day of the murder
from interigating miss William's the governess she confessed seeing caroline removing fingerprints off the bottle of beer that amyas was drinking from last & telling miss William's that amyas committed suicided but if he did ,why did she remove the finger prints when everyone saw her bringing the bottle to him & that she didn't tell the police back then about this coz she thought this would incriminate caroline more this is the key to the mystery coz caroline removed the fingerprints to whom she thought it belonged to the murderer but there is a the suspense & the surprise waiting at the end of the moving
the Director Paul Unwin used yellowish screen to help viewers to separate between the flash backs & the present the director was not routine at all & handled the story in a very moral way without directing our minds into thinking the same way he did
i have to mention the beautiful locations in which it was used , the sea was a beautiful back ground to a flashback scene with caroline in it .. the garden .. the beautiful terrace in the house of the painter .. the place near the river where amyas paints , even the rays of sun in the flashbacks down on the scenes were so appealing (strong photography )
as for the actors Lucy the daughter i didn't think she was good as she should no spark in her eyes , amyas as womanizer painter he was perfect for the role , the best performance goes to the acting of Rachael Stirling (caroline) she's very remarkable in that role very strong & yet calm till the end ,Julie Cox ( Elsa) was good & vague a bit but very effective , the one who surprised me was Sophie Winkleman ( angela) she's very talented to the bones & i saw her in a previous miss marple episode called ( the moving finger)where she appeared prettier &had a bigger role but here she is stronger although with a less space on screen
i cant forget to mention the theme music at the beginning and the ending very charming & enchanting puts you in the right mood in those old times i love that era back in time
you'll enjoy the movie i m quite sure , it's a story about love ,a woman who love her husband to death & he loves her back to death too
very charming drawing .. enjoyyy
Marple: Ordeal by Innocence (2007)
watched it last week twice actually & really enjoyed it , very good acting to miss Geraldine & all the family members & the scientist doctor
most replies r negative to my surprise ,i waned to read them to know if other viewers enjoyed it as i did , i think it was good i will report a quick summery to any of u who is about to watch
ORDEAL BY INNOCENCE
of coarse everyone knows its written by Agatha Cristie the great novelist, the plot starts by an old friend of miss marple writing her a letter asking her to come pay a visit coz she's to be married to a gentleman who have 5 kids
after miss marple arrives & is introduced to the 5 young people she learns they are all came from foster homes , & that their belated mother was a very rich lady killed 2 yrs ago
on a quick flash backs the director shows us one where the mother had a big fight concerning money borrowing from her eldest adopted son jacko that she turns down & he end up telling her that he wish her dead & he leaves the house. 2 hours later the mother is brutally dead & of coarse the young man is convicted & sent to prison for trial
all along he keeps sayin he had an alibi by a scientist doctor who gave him a lift by his car that particular night
but that witness was no where to be found & after a while the son was hanged the flash backs are over
back to reality where miss marple & the family of 5 children , their father & his fiancée ( miss marple's friend ) are happily spending the evening doing sharades & hanging around so Merrily
when a scientist doctor spots an old newspaper & reads that a young man was hanged due to killing his mom 2 years ago he comes in a rainy night to this family's night to reveal a dark secret
appearing like a ghost out of the windows where they all gathered & telling them that their long dead brother was with him around 8,30 which is the same time of the murder of their dead mother taking place , so there is no way he was the murderer & they all discover that if their dead brother isn't the one , so it's one of them
& the mystery goes on & on & gets more thrilling & full of surprises i love reading , i would support novels brought to movies , novels are harder than a 90 minutes screen adapted novel to some people ,though novels are more deep full of details & depth that no way a movie can deliver
but on the other hand a movie is easier to understand for young people, easier to watch especially for a whole new generation of Agatha Cristie's young fans
back to the movie ... i think it's done very well , miss Geraldine's acting is always awesome i love the way she does it .. the acting , her custom's ,the way she always repeat the word '' dear'' in many lines in the script makes u feel like she 's ur own granny lol
the casting of the family was wonderful & very suitable , the 2 sisters Kirsten & Hester are wonderful actors especially the younger one kirsten , she is a very sensible actress , the brothers jacko ( the thought to be murderer of his mother is wonderful ), the other brothers were so right in their own places , the lake where a suicide takes place was original ,the house & the stormy weather helped much in the belief of the realism
i don't think the movie is crap on the contrary i think if u r free for the weekend & it's on TV try catchin it or rent it if available , u'll enjoy
The Fly II (1989)
what a waste
i watched it earlier today , what can i say? man it could'nt be any worse , i really hoped it would not be i wasn't convinced at all with the whole plot,it's a bad copy of part one, only that part one was a lot better , it was so lame & so vague that you don't know where you are standing , if it's a horror movie or sci fi movie or one of those scientists movies ,unfortuonatly i cant mention the weak parts of the movie cos i cant find strong ones, not to mention the silly monster they created it didn't scare at all , the children channel have shows with monsters that scare more than that one as for the acting eric stoltz tried to do some good work but the story & the plot wasn't helping so it all went the drains ,i've seen daphne zuniga in better roles , cant compare her with gina davis part one it wouldent be fair anyway i don't recommend it at all specially if you watched part one & like it
Monk (2002)
Monk is well deserved show
Monk is well deserved show to watch it's a TV series that's very succssefull ever since it started in 2002 until this year 2008 its starring tony shalhoub who is a very brilliant & genius actor ,he portrays the role of a homocide detective & in each episode he analyse a perfect murder till he solve it brilliantly
my honest opinion on monk series that its very good extremely HILARIOUS group starting from mr monk himself all through natalie teeger & Lt randy dishcer & of coarse ending by captain stottlemyer it's a mixture of excitement & funny jokes without blood or outragous violent scenes .. you get to enjoy every episode all & every season
my advice to you its a wonderful show don't miss it if it's on TV , & if it's not try to get hold of it on DVD , you wont regret it
