When Calls the Heart (2014)
Clear
It's obviously clear that the only reason this show succeeds is because of the way it deviates from reality, taking its exclusive target audience along. The show is neither historically accurate or realistic in any way shape or form. Like 2017's The Greatest Showman, it relies solely on emotional/happily ever after plotlines to keep its reviews afloat.
Life is cold, dark, and typically doesn't have happy endings. The sooner Hearties accept that, the better.
On a side note, killing off a main character halfway in did pleasantly surprise me. It's the only time this show did something right.
Bottled with Love (2019)
Iffy
This new hallmark movie from Hallmark has surpassed many of its predecessors in terms of sense and necessity. However, it does promote some iffy things including the promotion of alcoholism. Just read the title
Murder, She Baked: A Deadly Recipe (2016)
Utter nonsense
If you're looking for a more realistic, accurate, and engaging crime show to watch - you're better off with Law and Order SVU or Chicago PD. Best to leave this fluffy, sugar-coated "feel good" 0 calorie mystery on the shelf.
The reason I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 is because there are some who surprisingly enjoy watching these feel good movies and shows to escape reality. I am not one of those people, hence my opinion.
