Adam Ritchson & Hillary Swank both turned in top notch performances. Nancy Travis is solid as usual. The young ladies playing the sisters turned in great performances as well. The movie itself brought this grown man to tears. The mixture of both lead characters battling their demons only added to the movie's emotional impact. The struggle with addiction portrayed by Swank was heart wrenching and very believable. Ritchson's tears and anguish was a gut punch in reality. The mixture of love, loss, sadness, faith and joy has the viewer twisted emotionally throughout the film. I highly recommend this film.

Maybe focusing more on plot than making political statements could've helped? But that wouldn't make up for the bad acting. George Lopez almost single handedly ruined the movie. The plot holes were as numerous as the empty seats in the theater. The attempts at comedy were terrible misses. I'm assuming it was geared towards a certain audience but I honestly can't think of any demographic that would enjoy this movie in its entirety. The fight sequences were the only saving grace. If you lose a bet and are forced to take your worst enemy to a movie this is the one for you. I'm being overly generous with the 4/10.

Pattinson is an excellent brooding hero and his performance was top notch. Kravitz was excellent as well. Dano's performance stole the show. Turturro was great as usual. We needed more Bruce/Alfred interaction. I feel the directing, while not bad, could've taken a better turn. Really long movie. Could've been better in less time.
