Still watching, but I don't know why.
19 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The acting is terrible on this show. The scenarios are ridiculous. They keep adding new groups, new characters and none of them make any sense. Every character on the show would be dead already in any kind of situation like this. When they find themselves in a scenario they have three choices make, the right decision, the wrong decision and the dumb decision, that is the one they always make. And the dumb decisions they make don't make any sense. This episode the wolves attack. Instead of standing there and defending themselves alongside the locals, they all run in every direction. They make it safely in the buses and cars and moving vans, and then Izzy tries to leave the safety of the bus to go find her parents. What does she think she's going to do, really? And then they save the day with explosive rocks that don't exist, even today. And really, how did they know they would explode, they just heard they were some kind of power source. And my biggest graph is how everybody is so clean, their clothes are so clean, their hair is so perfect. At least make them look dirty and grungy.

The wilderness family, revisited
5 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I've never heard of this movie, and then I saw it pop up on my recommendations. It is basically a remake of The wilderness family of the 1970s. I think there was three or four of them. Basically it's a story of the family that leaves civilization to go live in the wilderness this time not by choice, and they end up having all kinds of adventures. But it's a Disney type flick so nobody ever gets hurt. That's what they did here, they just change the wilderness to the Bermuda triangle. There's the annoying kid that you will wish would die, and he doesn't, there's a teenage daughter she's kind of cute, she learns to swim with the dolphins and they solve all her problems. And then there's mom and dad, a couple of professionals that can always save the day. The differences here is they added a few new characters. It's a fun, watchable show. A cross between Gilligans island, Swiss family Robinson, and as I said, The wilderness family. If you get a chance, watch it, it's enjoyable.

Anyone remember what "Jumped the shark" means?
1 June 2022
Oh my God, this show is so over. They just keep putting these actors in situations where they make the dumbest decisions, pursuing whatever stupid little quest they can come up with. I am so wishing this show over. I'm one of those unfortunately people that will watch something till the end, but in this case..OK no, the other walking dead show with a bunch of kids, I drop that after five episodes. And I'm really almost done with the original. But this one is so stupid. The whole nuclear fallout crap, good god really? And everybody finds another reason to run back into the radiation. I've never wished an entire cast dead, but I do.

Fear the Walking Dead: Follow Me (2022)
Season 7, Episode 9
1/10
I fear The Walking Dead are writing these episodes.
1 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was dreadful, horrible, probably the worst. I quit watching last season. I did not see the last few episodes. When this premiered I tried to catch up. I am so so sorry I did. What a terrible stupid episode. Let me explain. Alicia wakes up in the house of a deaf man who used to be a band leader. Yatta Yatta Yatta. Arnold the bad guy finds her in this house. She has ample opportunity to kill said bad guy yet she screws it up every time. They could've killed him when he came to the front door, they could've killed him when he was standing out in the front yard, and when the band leaders playing the bagpipes and totally distracts Arnold, she could've killed him then but instead she chooses to run away and let the bad guy live and the bandleader that saved her useless life, die. Why are TV people so stupid that they do not think hey, what is the best plan? Kill the bad guy at any cost. I am so over the show.

A time capsule.
14 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Filmed in 1983, not released till 2022. There's obviously a lot of missing footage, you get about 10 minutes of scenery and the same animals over and over as filler.

This is another movie in the collection of "nature runs amok movies".

The very first scene is a poacher shoot a bear cub, the camera follows the bullet. The poacher fires a second shot and the camera follows that bullet too. The bullet that they show in the SFX is still in the casing, it's an unfired round, not a bullet, ha! What many of those movies had in common was that the resort or the town that the beast is going to attack is always on the eve of their great celebration, or anniversary, or their big festival that brings in all the tourist money, in this case, it's a rock concert. There's always the one idiot that won't listen, there's the hero that's trying to convince them to cancel the event and get people out, of course they don't listen or we wouldn't have another awful movie. Charlie Sheen, Laura Dern and George Clooney have top billing, because they are now big stars. But when this movie was made they were nobody, that's why the very first scene you see them and they get slaughtered by the bear. And it's a hoot hearing Charlie Sheen scream.

It's a typical 80s bad acting, poor editing movie, but it is enjoyable and a bit nostalgic. You get to see a lot of actors when they were young.

The magnificent three
9 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I love Denzel Washington as an actor, and I enjoyed that they diversified the cast in this version. The character of hawke was quite interesting. But making the sharpshooter a guy that can no longer shoot, why? It was a fun movie , and I liked that they included a Native American and an Asian. But at the end, they killed all the white characters. That was not missed by me. These hidden messages really annoy me.

Find and read the journals from original pioneers.
7 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Then, you'll know. I've read many of the pioneers journals, diaries and memoirs, mostly written by the women of the time, this is very accurate, very real. Although most wagon trains were 100 plus wagons, some attempted the trek with 20 or so, they are among the disaster stories, entire wagon trains wiped out. This really happened. We know the Duttons make it to Montana, but does the rest of this group survive past that, unknown. I'm looking forward to finding out.

This is Reacher
4 February 2022
Having read many Reacher novels, and watching the two Reacher movies. I have to say, this is what Lee Child envisioned when he created Reacher. If you enjoy the Tom Cruise movies , you should, enjoy them as Tom Cruise movies, because that's what they are, if you are a Reacher book fan, this is a show for you. Not disappointed. I hope they make many more books with Alan Ritchson.

Terrible rendition of a real incident.
18 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In 1945 during the Battle of Ramree Island an estimated 500 Japanese soldiers entered the swamps of Ramree island, Burma, according to the stories less than 20 of them emerged. Death came to them from many different sources, scorpions, disease, drowning and of course the crocodiles. I have read many stories of this battle, many were first-hand witness stories that told of the horrors they heard in the swamps. They could hear the crocodiles attacking the Japanese soldiers, and the tale tell sounds of the crocodiles doing the death roll as they attacked the Japanese. This has nothing to do with that battle except name only, they only show two Japanese soldiers and they don't even die by their crocodiles. That said, I watch this in hopes it would be a good rendition of the story, it isn't. They could've set this horrible human disaster story in any situation, four British soldiers, one of them being an Indian, whom I was rooting for, go into the swamps and bicker, fight and act stupid. I ended up fast forwarding hoping to find anything about the real story . I took this bullet for you, I implore you do, not watch this garbage.

Not a bad family type show
18 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I remember back around 75, 76 this came out on television, I was around 10 or 11 years old. It really stuck with me, I thought of this movie many many times over the years, it popped up on my Prime Video so I watched it. For today's standards it is kind of cheesy, it reminds me of something you would find on the Hallmark channel or Trinity broadcasting network, the original version had a lot more religious overtones, I remember the sister talking to the Indian girl about Jesus. The version I saw cut a lot of it out. It's too bad that of the character Russian did not get his gold. And when the sister returns with her baby I never understood if the Indian husband was sending her home or just letting her come to visit. He rides off into the sunset as a song performed by the sister, who was a country singer, plays.

Eternals (2021)

Who could like this?
12 January 2022
When I saw the previews I thought this looked absolutely dreadful, I've never even heard of the Eternals and I was a Marvel fan all through the 70s and 80s. I did lean more towards Spider-Man and the Punisher. I did not go see this in the theater because I just couldn't care. When they released it for Disney+, I tried watching it, I made about 40 minutes before I turned it off. This was very confusing and I just could not care about any of the characters. And whatever was going on with the imagery, it was so dark I could not see the nighttime scenes nor the scenes that take place inside structures or whatever dark place the scene was in. I turned it off and I don't believe I missed anything.

For what it is, it's a great movie
6 January 2022
I was about 12 or 13 when this came out on TV, I remember my dad and I sitting there watching it on the Friday night movie. It's in the collection of "nature runs amok movies". Being an avid Bigfoot fan I always watch the old Bigfoot, Sasquatch or yeti movies when they come on. What many of those movies had in common was that the resort or the town that the beast is going to attack is always on the eve of their great celebration, or anniversary, or their big festival that brings in all the tourist money. There's always the one idiot that won't listen, there's the hero that's trying to convince them to cancel the event and get people out, The people that were destined to die, but of course, we know what happens, carnage. This movie was remade a few years ago with John Schneider and they used the original beast costume.

Only watched for the Spider-Man connection, dreadful.
17 December 2021
As a kid I was an avid Spider-Man fan and comic reader from the end of the 70s until the whole symbiont, venom garbage came out in the 80's, then they lost me. That and I discovered girls. Every now and then I would look at one at the grocery store and be glad that I had quit reading them. They just got awful. So I downloaded this garbage because of the connections to Spider-Man in upcoming movies that I've heard about. The show is terrible. Venom needs to eat human brains to survive and they're in San Francisco, I see a solution. There is a prolific amount of homeless in San Francisco, and a lot of other weird people, let Venom eat them and get all fat and happy. Win, win.

Don't care, wife caused me to watch.

Right off, Brett is hot, in every category. Her man is an idiot. He can't do better, what an idiot, he's looking for the trailer park gutter tramp, good luck with that. Jonny and Val, he an ahole, expecting an old school Chinese wife, she is a disturbed psycho off Camera. She'll ruin your life by being in it. Jose, Rachel, hate them, but if she acts the fool and leaves, expect the door to be locked. That nut woman Macala and Zack, I'm so sorry for Zack, she was a Nubian qeuuen wanna be, nut case , crazy B. Run Zack, Run.

Fear the Walking Dead: Six Hours (2021)
Season 7, Episode 2

Watched in in 15 minutes.
12 November 2021
I grew up in a religious home, my mom always said hell was full of rats and snakes, I'm not sure where she got that. I told her no, hell would be full of crying babies and barking dogs. All this episode needed was barking dogs. The fast-forward button was my friend, every time the baby started the squall I jumped ahead, I caught a few of the highlights but in the end I don't think I missed anything. What the hell is wrong with Grace screaming and yelling over a Song, causing Morgan to get involved, because he probably wants Grace to shut up as much as I wanted that baby to shut up. And then of course he crashes the car. For crying out loud it's just a song. The ending scene at me completely confused, I have no idea who that was, I guess I'll figure it out later.

Another great nature runs amok movie
26 October 2021
When I was young I remember seeing the previews of this on TV several times, I never did get to see it though. Many years later I found the book and I used book store and read it, I found the book very exciting. Today I got to see the movie on TCM, and I wasn't disappointed. It is the typical 70s nature gets vengeance on mankind type movies like Food of the gods, Rattlers, Day of the animals, Night of the Lepus where there's always the stupid people that you can't wait to see die, the screaming damsel in distress ( you don't see anymore, now they make the women the hero, and some soy boy man the victim) , the tough guy hero who ends up saving the day. It was fun to see Bodega Bay again as it was back in the 70's when it was a really small town, it seems like every time somebody would go there they would have to look out for the Fog, or Humanoids from the deep, or those damn Birds. Great movie, I enjoyed it.

Are you kidding me? Dr Goodwin again!
24 October 2021
Again, I see this mess because my wife watches it.... Pipes burst, chemicals spill out, evacuation. Then you see dr Goodwin leading the demolition to find the source, REALLY? The Dr is breaking down walls with a sledgehammer? Then he follows the pipes to the source, alone of course, finds a broken pipe on a chem tank, then, they lazy writing gets him trapped. That's when I left the room, I can't take this stupidity any longer. Who wrote this garbage? He's a Dr, any hand injury ends his career. That's what maintenance and firefighters are for. This is as bad as the episode of MASH when Dr's Hawkeye and Honeycutt disarm a bomb. The surgeons, not expendable.

Fantastic start, back to the horror story.
24 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The episode starts with suspense, keeps it creepy. They keep this feeling throughout the episode. For me the commonwealth is still a mystery, are they bad, or cautious? The Negan/Maggie drama begins to escalate, I really thought Negan was going to do the hero thing at the end, but as it turns out the only person he is interested in helping is Negan, it's going to be interesting seeing that play out. When I saw the "Anti-racist " sign in the subway and Ezekiel asked the commonwealth orange guard what he did before, was he a "power-trippin cop", I had a sinking feeling, please don't go political on this show. Please. If I want that, I'll watch Station 19 with my wife instead of going in my cave and playing video games.

Lazy or lame writers, which is it?
7 January 2021
I'm halfway through season three now, although I did fast forward terra firma part one and two, and there is a thing that constantly bothers me. Here is a crew that is set to hundred years in the future, they've gone through Starfleet Academy and they are now on a starship yet they use 20th century slang and colloquialisms. I've been alive for 50 years, and the slang and colloquialisms I was using 20 and 30 years ago are mostly no longer in use, so why would 20th century slang be still around in the 23rd century? My Dad was the greatest generation, he fought in World War II, and every now and then he would use slang from that era and I had to ask him what it even meant. You wouldn't believe what they used to call a cigarette. this goes to show that this shows writers are either lazy, lame or just plain ignorant. That's what was great about the other Star Trek shows, very good writers, they went to a lot of trouble to not use current slang and colloquialisms in a future set show.

All the time in the world.
7 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I love this season, I love the connection to the original the cage/the menagerie of the original Star Trek, and I did love the way they finished it with the original crew of the enterprise, before Kirks time that is. But what really annoys me is at the end when Michael was rushing to get the portal/wormhole open so she could jump in time and save the day and they had seconds to spare, people were dying all around, she has time to have a heart to heart talk with spark, as if they have all the time in the world. They do this on so many movies, TV shows and I hate that. I wish once they would make a show where somebody has seconds to spare, and make the right decision and they stopped to take an emotional moment and time runs out, and they screw the whole thing up because they had to have an emotional last dialog.

There's no crying in Star Trek.
7 January 2021
Season 2 was watchable because of Captain Pike, and the connection to the original Star Trek. This crap, however, I fast forwarded these two episodes, and I didn't miss anything I'm sure. What I liked about Star Trek, TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise and the movies, was no one cried all the time. Star Trek is about brave explorers voyaging into the unknowns of space, you can't have a bunch of crybabies on board, social justice warriors letting their emotions get in the way. I'm not gonna even mention the insubordination that occurs on every episode with the Michael character, I am so sick of her, I wish they had left her on the seed ship instead of the girl with the breathing apparatus.

Closer to the book version of Tarzan than the Weissmuller embarrassment.
6 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
As a kid I had seen a few Tarzan movies on TV, and then when I was 11 my aunt gave me her five copies of the original Tarzan novels, Which I still have. After reading the first one, Tarzan of the apes, I could no longer watch a Johnny Weissmuller movie, they took an amazing character and turned him into just sort of special needs. Tarzan of the books never talked like JW, he spoke several languages, he never lived in a treehouse, there was no chimp name cheetah nor a kid name boy. That said, this version of the movie is very close to the Tarzan of the books. Greystoke, the legend of Tarzan is a great version of the 1st part of the story. In the books he grows up in the African jungle with apes, he becomes lord of his tribe of apes, meets Jane Porter, helps her get rescued, but he stays in Africa never having talked to her, then he saves Frenchman named Paul d'Arnot and the frenchman teaches him English and French, Tarzan helps him get out of the jungle and they make their way back to England. Tarzan, John Clayton, assumes his role as lord Greystoke. He then traveled to America to find Jane. After a few years he returns to Africa, eventually builds a ranch and him and Jane marry, have a son named Jack, and they live in Africa most of the rest of their lives, With the exception of the many adventures that take Tarzan away from his ranch. This story is similar to many of the books, with the exception of Tarzan never lets a bad guy live. And he usually has his fathers knife with him which he uses quite often. If you're a fan of the books you will love this movie, if you're a fan of that dreadful Disney cartoon or the Johnny Weissmuller movies then of course you will hate this one.

If people in your life are like this...I'm so sorry for you
19 December 2020
These actors portray improbable fictitious people that are overboard on emotional expression that it makes me ill to have to watch this. I have never met any human that resembles any character on this fantasy show. I found that horrible vampire crap Twilight more realistic. If you watch this thinking, "my life is not complete until I am like these people " the you are lost.

Social Justice Walking dead.
17 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This show is terrible. There's the coming out/found out gay story where the parents kick the boy out, there are the sisters of the new cancel culture different race cliche, the weird nerdy kid and the quiet lumbering Lenny from Of mice and men. They decide to go on their odyssey just moments before the big group with helicopters slaughters their entire society. No real explanation why yet, hopefully we find out before the show gets canceled. Then there's the backstory where the weird nerdy kid's mom kills the mom of the two sisters, and then the moody sister shoots his mom, but of course he doesn't know it yet, but you know he will find out. Early in the show the weird nerdy kid informs the other three that he sneaks out at night looking for something he lost, and of course the first night they takeoff out into the zombieland Lenny stumbles over it, a triceratops horn, and then weird nerdy kid ties it to a stick with a piece of shoestring and gives it to the leader of this group of idiots. Like that's gonna hold. Two episodes in, not going to watch 3rd.
