The animation, sound, music, and all other technical aspects of the show are near perfect. Unfortunately, the story is utter garbage. More than that, it ruins ATLA. You're better off pretending this dumpster fire doesn't even exist.

Ultimate Spider-Man follows Spider-Man (duh) as he gets recruited by SHIELD and leads a team of other teen heroes in a quest to become a better hero. If you want an animated version of the comics, then just watch the animated series from the 90s. Honestly it's better. But, the thing that makes this show special is all of its unique ideas and concepts. It takes an interesting spin on classic characters, such as Vulture, Scarlet Spider, Venom and many more. I can see why this show gets so much flak, especially from purists. In my opinion, how different it is is one of its greatest strengths. If it had just been another Spider-Man show that did nothing different then what would be the point?
