Fate: The Winx Saga (2021)
Decent but Bloom is a fool
Bloomis one of those characters who is so foolish she endangers other people for her own sake. Not a bad watch but the MC is excruciatingly stupid.
Somali and the Forest Spirit (2020)
Sweet and deeply heartfelt
This anime is slower paced but it tells a lovely story. It also addresses issues such as war genocide, and trafficking, so the the story does have some dark undertones. But despite that it is ultimately hopeful.
The Fare (2018)
Solid
The premise is very simple some people might get bored of that. But for over half the movie you don't know what's going on. Which makes it intriguing and interesting. The ending ***spoiler*** of him actually being the ferry driver for death(hades) is a surprising twist. Definitely has twilight zone vibes but is infinitely more charming.
Bungou Stray Dogs (2016)
Hugely enjoyed it
Looking forward to the next installment of this anime. If you like quirky characters this is anime is for you. It does seem to jump around plot wise a bit, but it eventually ties many of the loose ends together.
The ABC Murders (2018)
If you're a sucker for traditional Christie's show's you may not enjoy it.
Ultimately it's a loose and darker interpretation of Agatha Christie's work. I've read all of them...I loved and enjoyed Suchet's spot on performance. But I like this as well for very different reasons, it was darker but no where near as dark as several other crime shows. The suchet series was charming and frankly sometimes you forgot it was a murder mystery. This however feels gritty and more raw and realistic, which I liked. Liberties were taken but frankly it's well done. If you like crime show's you'd possibly enjoy this but if you like fun charming murder shows you probably wouldn't like it.
Also, It is darker but in reality Agatha Christie was always a little dark but I think some people who read her forget that or read the books with rose colored glasses.
