Criminal Minds: Closing Time (2012)
J.J !!! YOU GO
This might not be one of the best or worst episodes of this seasons, but it has some interesting shifts regarding characters development. thus, i have some takes on it
for starters, The teen party scene is really tired. A big show like CM shouldn't play on clichés to establish horror, especially, when the scene adds nothing to to the plot. in fact, when the viewer predict what's going to happen next, the terror element becomes weak and somehow eye rolling worthy
Another thing is the ''homosexuality plot", i thought that was really interesting, at first, the show prepare us to think about sexual orientation related crimes; which is really intriguing since it has never been used before in the show. when they eliminated that possibility, things started to become more boring and predictable
At last, this episode really palyed a huge part in character development. which is fun. the show usually ignore the characters background and it doesn't give us enough to dive in their out of work life. however, i think that Hotchner's love interest doesn't quit suit him. the girl is way too bubbly for him, she doesn't fit him quit well. but i guess opposutes attract lol. then the J.J scene, that was a major addition in jj's character, u can see how much she developed from the earlier seasons and im really living for it .. U GO GIRL
note : i didn't really feel bad for the unsub's best friend death, i thought he kinda deserved it . i must be a sociopath lol
Charmed (1998)
throwback
Hands down this is one of my fav shows when i was a ki, back when they used to air it on m6, im totally gonna rewatch it again
it aged like a fine wine <3
Criminal Minds: Out of the Light (2011)
can you really shot someone under water ?
I didn't mind this episode as much, some of this season's epsiodes were really bad that they kinda overshadow the mediocrity of this one.
so i have many takes on this episodes.
first, aren't we done already with Emily's "death" subplote. it became really repititive, its irritating. the team seems to cope with everything throughout the seasons (Gideon, haley's death) but now it looks like we are going to deal with their grief for a minute.
the other annoying thing is that Emiley is not even dead, and since the audience are aware of it, it is really useless to keep reminding us of her fake loss.
secondly, why can't they ever be smart about their decisions, they could have followed the first unsub secretly without the big show arrest in the school. first because, it's more productive than forcing a confess, and also they could have bought some time for the victim. ironically the first suspect turned out to be the partner, they could have busted him if they just did it secretly
thirdly, and to add to what i said above about their poor tactic decisions , why can't they make the arrest "silently". it is cut and clear if the unsub heard the police sirens they would run away immediately , so why all the fuss about it ?; i guess we need the chasing scene for "the dramatic effect" but if we really needed that we would watch S.W.A.T or HawaII five-o not criminal ""minds""
finally; i think Ashley really shined in this episode, her character is starting to grow on me. we shall see more of her in the next seasons
Harley Quinn (2019)
LUV IT
DC world, feminist twist, graphic blood shot, and SARCASM what else could i ask
i love this animation serie, even though i unlikely do so. but this is different
Poison Ivy is my new villain queen <3
Criminal Minds: Corazon (2011)
WHY ???!!
Ok the cinematography was excellent, the vibes, the sounds and the overall effects. it gives that sense of unease and tension through ambiguous imagery.
btw, that finger shot!!!! yikes
i like superstitious touche, they are not into the mythical/paranormal aspects normally but they got it right this time. im concerned about the accuracy of it though, i know american shows can be a bit ignorant when it comes to other cultures, i hope the theological facts were valid here .
finally, i think i have made a mistake in my pervious review. i changed my mind!!! Reid is actually the dumbest character in the show, taking the crown from miss Ashley this time by penetrating a crime scene solo hoping to talk some sense to the unsub ? if they didn't find the picture he would be dead, but hey he had a headache so its okay -_- ?
Criminal Minds: What Happens at Home... (2010)
that scorpion shot was haunting
Seriously the scorpion shot was really terrifying
this episode was a huge disappointement, i feel like i was let down by my fav show, but let's start with the things that i liked about this episode.
the focus on the victimes famillies as a different approach is really intriguing, it quit resembels "the Mentalist" MO.
i liked the conversation between Ashley and Emily about the "moralities" the wrong and right and the outlook of criminals justifying what they did away from their identity as fathers or husbands.
now let's drag. what's up with that pet detail? shouldn't they have explained why the unsub wouldn't have a pet ! i mean i get that they did clearify that at the end but it should have been a productive detail in the profiling process.
what's with the cringey attempt to estabilish a potenial love interest for REID and Ashley, why would they play on that narrative if they wouldn't extend it later ?
and finally that silver "Ashley" girl, hands down is one of the most stupid characters who ever existed in the history of tv, first, she was USELESS literally she added nothing to the profiling, it was a dumb move visiting the unsub house to "apologize" or whatever because u know it's all about her and her father.. smh
ps: that five Finger Death Punch song was soo out of the place, a very poor choice. Sorry
Criminal Minds: Exit Wounds (2010)
an okay episode
I named it as an ''okay episode" because it was one of those "average" ones. the plot wasn't that intriguing or exceptional and the unsub wasn't remarkable. and frankly i didn't really buy the "intentions" or the reasoning behind the crimes
the setting, was fitting and somehow convinent. it has all the elements without playing on clichés. also the dynamic between the team (in the hotel) was warm and intimate. we had the chance to discover a different part of Garcia in a diiferent enivronment, which i apperciat that the show haven't overdone it
Criminal Minds: ...A Thousand Words (2010)
emotionally loaded
It might not be one of the best episodes of this season, i liked ''the fight" and "mosely lane" way more. however, this episode got me in my feelings, the victime the detective and the unsub partner affected me too deeply. the labor scene was amazing "too graphic thou" lol. above all i liked the plot, and i apperciated the little humor in reid's and derek interaction
