After Death (2023)
Lack of facts to case studies
Main thing i want to mention. Regarding case study of the plane crash. If he can see the site as from above as a spirit, his co pilot clearly died, so why could he not see him? In spirit mode? Or not even discussed? Which imo if all true, its means after death is only unique to an individual, and not another world or joint state, which to me means all case studies are just our brains chemically adapting to fact they are ending. Also, im sure there must be un happy experiences which not mentioned which would actually help create interesting takes. Also if after life is that great and as they say dont feel nothing then why come back? Opinions welcome.
The Tank (2023)
Good 1st half hour, then acting let it down
I enjoyed it for first 40minutes. It had a good back story. Then when it got to the point where life or death, the dad ran into the woods for no reason leaving his wife and child alone, to then run back scared. And every available moment both parents left the child alone to fine each other, with a quote from the dad..."i wont leave here with out you ". Im sorry but in such a situation in life and most films, the kid comes 1st right? Constant stupidy in there decisions from then on which ruined it for me. Good story plot was ruined by poor end plot n poor writing imo. Its the fact if there is a killer "monster" on the loose...oh yeah il leave my child alone while i go find my husband.
Hellraiser (2022)
Worth the watch
Ive looked forward to this for a while. And while it didnt disappoint, i felt like it could habe been more. The plot was good, the action, to me felt like the only demon capable of doing anything apart from walk slowly towards you, is pin head. Not sure why all demons are women? Doesn't matter but felt they were not scary. Ending sets up another. Imo hellraiser 3, is the best, as goes into hell, giving a terrifying perception. With quality today in graphical editing, this is whats needed for the next one. As last few focus on a plot no different to any other horror. Lets go to hell again...and focus on the characters not human. And an idea...hell based hellraiser, different demons battling for power to finally see who the devil is...maybe where trapped souls trying to escape..please make this happen.
Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind (2020)
Very good and tense, even mind boggling untill...
First hour loved it...believe all of it by the way, as plenty of proof and tbh its nieve of humans to think we are the only intellectual species. Loved the fact they gave explanation which imo i always thought, fact that goverments being honest about it takes away there power and can also create civil panic. Kinda lost interest moment hippies meditating invited aliens tbh. Maybe real but just to far fetched tbh. Spoiled it for me.
Titans (2018)
Complicated story but loved it.
One thing would say is why not send super boy/man in and he will get job done strait away. But always held back for that reason. Great though. Robin great character.
Greenland (2020)
Bravo.
Right most end of world films are more than likely to lack depth of characters and be cheesy. This film has the best depth of characters so much so u feel and prey for them. No cheese just desperation from everyone in the film to survive. I cried which never do, purely from emotional attachment to characters and man, what more can I say other than this is best film I have seen in years
Channel Zero: Insidious Onset (2018)
Loved season 1-2 & 4
May sound like the wrong reason not to like something but the moment the main character was introduced and seeing her awfull teeth thats all I could concentrate on for the following episodes...I know sounds harsh....but its a massive put off. Story no different to random ones of other series...but a lot of holes it in and with lack of tension like previous series it just doesn't hold you to keep watching and instead makes u keep judging and watching those teeth again. Not good. All other series I enjoyed.
UFO (2018)
Amazing and unique take on the genre
To see a film about ufos with out actually seeing anything is the reason I'm writing a review. The way this film was made is almost like I suspect real life investigations to be. Complicated maths talk sometimes but thats not meant to be understood as that's what makes the main character stand out. Only thing that annoyed me was skullys wig. Lol
War of the Worlds (2019)
Bad acting all round because of bad story
Wanted to like this series but it felt cheesy, bad acting and to be honest zoned out very quickly. The alien robots looked like something I could make in the back yard. Very school boy like this and no emotional contact with any character which would make you want to watch more. I'm sure it's not a low budget production but everything about it makes it look that way. Giving 3 stars purely because a women who lost both her kids did what I would do. Kill them self. Only real thing that's happened
Strike Back: Vendetta: Part 6 (2020)
What an emotional ride
Spoiler alert..............
Man I cried my eyes out at the end of this. Didnt see it coming. Well scripted and well acted in every way. I thought I was on for an episode of PTSD and was so engrossed that the ending caught me by surprise. And cried for 1st time in years. This is episode is so pure and a credit to the creators I have no more to say other than bravo.
