CODA (2021)
It's a 10 from me
As a deaf person in a hearing family, we laughed and cried watching this movie. So real. Acting was great, music was great. I'm delighted to see that the used Deaf actors. We need more representation in movies/tv. A must see.
This Is Going to Hurt (2022)
Painfully accurate
It's not even the end of the series yet but from the first moment i could tell that this was a 10/10. As a doctor, I can safely say that it's realest depiction of what it is like to be a doctor that I have ever seen on TV. It shows the glorious and painful moments all wrapped into one. I tear up at least once every episode.
Belfast (2021)
Brilliant portrayal of the horrors of the troubles through a child's eyes.
You'll laugh, you'll cry and you might learn a bit about more about the Troubles.
May go over the heads a little of non -Irish but I hope people give it a chance and learn more about a terrible part of our history.
A must see.
Army of Thieves (2021)
Funny, easy watch
I like heist movies and comedy, so this worked well for me. Better then Army of the Dead.
Not art or anything but enjoyable all the same.
Doesn't take itself too seriously.
No Time to Die (2021)
Best send off to Daniel Craig possible
All the loose ends tied up. Both the character and the actor went off in good terms and on a high. Well worth the wait.
Bo Burnham: Inside (2021)
Wow
I don't think I've seen anything quite like it. Really well executed and thought provoking.
Malcolm & Marie (2021)
Never heard the name Marie said so much.
Seriously- half the movie he is just shouting her name.
Not my cup of tea. Turned it off after an hour of just watching the same argument carry on over and over.
"MARIE..."
Wild Mountain Thyme (2020)
Disgraceful
The director said 'this movie isn't for Irish people' and I can see why.
Cultural appropriation at it's finest. The accents are the least of the problems. Irish people are often portrayed as backwards, violent, idiots but this really takes the biscuit. The people standing by it should be ashamed of themselves.
Terrible movie, terrible representation of Irish people and disrespectful to the highest level. People wouldn't stand for it if it was any other culture.
