Maximum Truth (2023)
The Office season 1 meets politics
So I enjoyed this movie for what it was. It gave Season 1 of The Office (US) where it treaded the line of concerning content but some dry humor gave me some giggles. The content is kind of bland in that you weren't overly excited about anything that was happening but you were kind of entertained. Both of the main actors did a great job but Dylan O'Brien has my heart. Ike was definitely giving Michael Scott vibes while Dylan was giving Jim mixed with Dwight vibes. Is this a a slap your leg, pee your pants type of funny? No. Are you going to get the same laugh as a Seth Rogen or Will Ferrel movie? No. Is it going to give you a few giggles and leave you slightly satisfied? Yes. If you don't mind Season 1 of The Office, you will enjoy this.
Vampire Academy (2022)
Slow and slightly disappointed but all around loving it
So I like many others on here was extremely upset watching the first episode. Nothing seemed the same as the books which I love with all my heart and I didn't feel like I could enjoy it. But I read reviews saying to keep an open mind and honestly I'm glad I did.
While a lot of the plot is completely different from the books the underlying themes are still the same. They are doing things in a faster pace but I'd like to think it's so they can add more and new things that will make it more interesting.
Some parts are cheesy specifically with Lissa and Christian. But the parts with Rose and Demitri are fun and flirty!
I am giving 8/10 only because I was looking forward to the show being like the books and so I'm slightly disappointed by that. But all around I would say this is going to be a solid show and I hope more people see that!
Sex Education (2019)
Keeps getting better each season!!
This show is so much more progressive compared to how some shows will bring these same elements into their stories. The characters continue to develop and learn to love themselves and teach viewers to do the same. This is such a beauty of show that if done right could go on for a long time and I truly hope it does!
All About Steve (2009)
Underrated movie! Loved every moment!
I think all the people who say this movie is trash is digging WAY too deep! I loved this movie because for someone who isn't drop dead gorgeous and is relatively quirky, it was just a nice feeling to see someone like that change the world. I think Sandra Bullock did an amazing job making a character who is quirky but lovable. Is it over the top? Yes. Are there people like that in the world? Yes. And people who are like this main character need a movie like this to show that just because they can seem very looney, they are lovable and some of the best people out there. Is this a top rated movie that was meant to win big awards? Not really, but it was really fun and gave you a good time watching! I thoroughly recommend!
Escape Room: Tournament of Champions (2021)
Predictable but also exciting
I felt after watching the first one they are equally amazing when it comes to understanding and loving the characters, the intensity of the puzzles, and the ability to keep things predictable but also create twists you didn't expect. I loved Holland Roden's performance along with Taylor and Logan's performances! I personally enjoyed it and hope that with the cliffhanger there will be a third!
Fate: The Winx Saga (2021)
HUGE FAN OF ORIGINAL AND LOVED THIS!!
This is definitely very different from the original cartoon that I grew up with but THATS COMPELTELY OKAY! This one is more realistic. It's not all cheerful and happy and there's not always a happy ending. This show has trials and lose in a way the cartoon didn't. I think the only thing I missed was the lack of original characters. There was just Bloom, Sky, Riven, Musa and Stella. I would have liked ALL the original. But technically there was an adaptation because Bea-TRIX is supposed to be the Trix. And Farah is Miss Faraganda. I think some of the people on here just gave up after one episode and didn't give this a chance. I thoroughly loved it!
Motherland: Fort Salem (2020)
Unexpected!
This show has a slow start and builds up to something great! Episode 5 is where it really starts to show action and something other than teenage angst. Motherland illustrates strong females who can fight for themselves and protect their country. It's such a great show and I can't wait to see what happens next!!
