Sex Education (2019)
Toils and trembles of life are familiar no matter where you live.
I enjoyed this ride. I had my assumptions of just a bunch of teens screwing and partying, but I was proved wrong almost immediately. You feel connected to every character and see some part of you in them all. I learned more about myself by the end.
Black Mirror (2011)
Every episode is a different show.
You'll never get the same thing twice and will be gripped to the edge of your seat. You won't know how to feel until the credits roll and I love every roller coaster of emotion.
Ozark (2017)
Jason Bateman is incredible.
I got sucked in from the first episode and couldn't stop watching. It's a smarter, updated, more versatile, Breaking Bad. Everything seems plausible and possible. The acting isn't overdramatized, but cool and collected, which just makes it seem like you're getting a birds eye view of a real crime family. I believe everything that's happening and I don't want it to end.
9-1-1: Lone Star (2020)
Great representation for all
This show will have someone you connect with! I understand it seems a little outlandish that so many different types of people would be in one station, but that was Lowe's point. He wanted to get a group of outsiders, so everyone sees someone they look like on main TV. Disabled, black, Muslim, transgender, LGBTQ, Christian, mental illnesses, addicts, all under one roof, all getting along. If they can do it, so can we.
9-1-1 (2018)
All genres mixed beautifully with a variety cast.
I love when a show isn't unilateral. It's not just a drama. It's a mix of comedy, crime, romance, and a sprinkle of non-fiction calls. You get to see an exaggeration of all the facets of rescue!
Hollywood (2020)
Do it, watch it!
This is not your typical Hollywood story. You see multiple trials of 'the American dream' involving all faucets of people. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll grit, you'll clap, and you will feel fulfilled by the end. It brought a whole new understanding of what people before me experienced. It gives you hope for the future.
Adventure Time (2010)
Go ahead, watch it! You won't be disappointed.
As a 30F, I can positively say this is my favorite TV show ever. It has such an honest blend of all genres, for all people. Not too often do you find a show you, your parents, and your children enjoy. Adventure time will make you laugh, cry, shout, hide, while resurrecting your creativity and childlike wonder.
