RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars: Clap Back! (2020)
This will stop me from screaming at the television
Every season when the Queens are faced with eliminating each other and they all act the same lame fake way and then come to an agreement on which strategy and criteria they will all use if given the honor of having to make the decision. I CANNOT stand it every season because they do this all WRONG and they don't have to follow any "rules" or do anything the same or even do anything the same each week. The only thing I believe they should do is lie about aligning with everyone else and never tell anyone how you truly feel. This is a competition, above and beyond the crown and cash prize (whatever it may be depending on the season, this is $100k) there is lifetime supply of makeup and there are tours and appearances and endorsement opportunities so why on earth do they continue to eliminate the Queen with the worst critiques or track record instead of the Queen who is the BIGGEST THREAT?! I can't deal anymore and I'm rewatching this season which is 5 but it backs me up and I'm going to explain. They all say the same lame things too like "if I'm gonna be in the top three then I want to compete against the best". Excuse me? Why? After all of the financial gain I mentioned above why would you make winning any more difficult than it already is.
Ok so every season they all do and say the same thing. If we look at each Top 3 Queens track record, Miss Cracker is the front runner and is the clear winner, however, RuPaul flips the script and crowns Shea Coule'. The second to the left episode, if Cracker was smart she would have eliminated Shea kept Blair in order to further solidify the Crown. So even RuPaul doesn't go by who won the most challenges or track record she does what she wants and these fools are trying to make it look like they're All Holy and fair basically giving their possible win and money away!
American Horror Story (2011)
I cannot believe how incredibly horrifying season thirteen turned out to be!
KimK KimK KimK is absolutely one thousand percent in her element! She's truly a fabulous actress who ever would have known?? I would have because KimK does NO WRONG in my heart and eyes she's EVERYTHING and she's even more in this season. Don't be a hater just give her the credit she deserves regardless of whatever other ridiculous unfounded opinion you have of her. She's beautiful she's bad ass and she's damn awesome! Ryan Murphy has petrified me after thirteen seasons. I heard somewhere that this part was written with KimK in mind and OMG it's hilarious how so many lines in episode nine prove that to be true. This is creepy and frightening. AHS is back with a vengeance don't miss this season!
Below Deck Mediterranean: Au Revoir, Sirocco (2019)
Sandy.... BACK THE HELL OFF!
I'm obsessed with this show. I've watched many seasons several times, several episodes many times and each time is like the first time because there's so many things you missed and eventually see. Chief stew Hannah has always been my very favorite and captain sandy has always been a bad ass boss whom I've loved and respected. Unfortunately for them season four my second time binging caused me to realize that ALL OF THEM are fascinatingly insane but in the interest of saving time I'll focus on the two previously mentioned favorites. Hannah, remove the stick from you know where and stop looking and sounding so annoyed and so visibly frustrated. There are moments that cause a viewer watching from thousands of miles away and a decade later so uncomfortable. You take so much way too serious. Now Sandy. The title says it all. The micromanager of the century award goes to. I'm honestly from the bottom of my heart and my whole hearted sincerity, I cannot believe you have survived without someone trying to end you. You are up everyone's ass and that's why they aren't able to compete their jobs because YOU are causing them to stress out and basically your ruining EVERYTHING! Sandy steer the damn ship and leave these people alone. You are gonna get yourself hurt and you know what I mean without saying it.
School Spirits (2023)
Spectacular work!
I passed over this several times as it was recommended by one streaming service or another and Thankfully I finally gave in. It's everything I thought it wouldn't be and never expected! It's clever it's funny and Wow is it emotional. I might have teared up during every episode and I know for a fact that I've full on ugly cried at least three times. The cast of spirits are so lovable and the cast of living characters are are so questionable as you try to figure out how the newest ghost Maddie met her demise. It's a true mystery. I'm halfway through episode six and on the edge of my seat waiting for the next Shyamalan twist. No matter what Generation you're from don't miss this. It's so much more than a teen angst series. There's a school spirit for every age group.
Tore (2023)
FINALLY! Been waiting a long time for something fresh
There's actually a writer left with an imagination. I didn't know what to expect when I decided to Netflix's new LGBT arrival watch. I was actually quite skeptical going in because I've been there done that everything is the same. My expectations for season 7 of Elite was pure excitement as if I was about to turn twenty one again and as it turned out it's the new fifty lol. But I digress this isn't about Elite. Tore is definitely a fresh look at the gay romance dark dramedy. Think Six Feet Under meets Heathers and you'll find yourself enjoying this one. My only complaint is that it's season one newly released so when it's over it's over. At least it is for a long time if we do get a season two.
American Horror Story: Preech (2023)
Awesome AHS is Back with something to Prove
Episode five once again Bangin! Episode four was a little slow IMO nothing real exciting to note although still watchable and mildly interesting and entertaining. Five is bringing much more excitement with important plot points. It's truly amazing how after several seasons jumping the proverbial shark AHS has done a complete one eighty and is one hundred percent back to what it once was and if possible it's even creepier and dare I say scarier than ever, actually I'm gonna go with creepier and darker than ever instead Lol. I can't think of a single sitcom or drama that has managed to make a comeback after losing its audience. This is a testament to the incredible talent of Mr. Ryan Murphy and his team. Oh and lastly just like my other reviews I want to voice my continued praise to Emma Robert's she is doing an excellent job with this character that we aren't used to seeing from her AND my personal favorite KimK is doing it and doing it and doing it WELL! Murphy knows what he's doing no question. Kim has the acting chops and she's proving it in each episode. Congrats KimK I never had a doubt
Xoxo.
American Horror Story: When the Bough Breaks (2023)
Oh Ryan Murphy you Twisted Man
Yooooo it's SOOOOOOOO GOOD!
This episode is the American Horror Story we all know and love! Mr Murphy what happened to you as a child sir lol, I was totally creeped out watching this episode it is quite chilling. I want to low key admit that I never saw "Rosemary's Baby" (I know how lame right) well it's just shy of my time but from what I understand this is following queues from it and if that's true I'm gonna be watching it very soon. Do yourselves a favor if you've been feeling like it's time to give up AHS don't do it because it's definitely back. And while I'm at it let me praise the Emma Roberts and KimK's incredible performances this season. Emma has taken on a whole new role than we are used to seeing her in and she's really killing it and KimK is as amazing as I knew she would be. Kim is here to shut down the haters!
American Horror Story: Multiply Thy Pain (2023)
10 Stars because I'm a KimK SUPERFAN!
I'm only 18 minutes into episode one but grinning from ear to ear the second I saw Kim. I think she right off the bat appeared extremely natural as if she's always been a scripted actor. Why there's a review or two completely trashing her is beyond my comprehension however no doubt it's just the usual bunch of jealous garbage people have been spewing about the whole Kardashian family and even if Kim herself showed up at one the haters homes with a boatload of cash they would still find fault with her. A little off topic but , it takes brains and talent and dedication and determination to grow the global business that family has and they deserve the respect as American business woman and a whole lot less hate. Anyway Kim is awesome, she was casted because of her incomparable fame and popularity so even if AHS has "jumped the shark" watch season twelve and support KimK! Oh and NYC, was an awesome heartfelt and moving season so AHS should have redeemed itself already with that.
Holding the Man (2015)
When a film makes you cry like I did it's a winner
I didn't know what I was in for as I had never heard about this book or movie and I went in rather blind. I've never seen a movie where the couple were in complete sync, one usually loves the other more and one usually more proud while the other is paranoid and scared someone will find out about them but these two were both equally as happy and proud to be in love and in the 1970's it was refreshing. Then the tides turned and tissues were scattered. It's truly a beautiful and tragic experience from beginning to end. This is a unique film for the LGBT community and it's getting tens across the board from me. See this movie!
Black Mirror (2011)
This is for Season Six Episode Five "Demon 79"
I've been laughing hysterically for 35 minutes straight! Imagine the ability to laugh hysterically for 35 minutes straight every day without having to purchase anything or ingesting anything, smoking or eating anything etc. Wouldn't life be Grand? Yes I am aware of how slim the chances are of that happening daily and it's just as absurd as this particular episode too and that's why I found it so hilarious. A comedic demon crosses paths with a quiet polite meek young woman forcing her to commit horrific acts in order to prevent an apocalyptic end to the world turns out to be as hilarious as one might expect lol. Do yourself a favor the next time you have a lousy day turn to Netflix for "Demon 79" and laugh away your lousy day! You can Thank me later.
Heartstopper (2022)
ALL TENS HaHa all you hateful ONE ratings
Pay no attention to anyone who rates this a one they are clearly angry millennials. As a Gen Xer being out in high school was nonexistent and after seeing this show I'm convinced that I didn't miss anything and I wouldn't change my adolescence a bit. This is not a bad thing allow me to explain. What I loved about this series is the refreshing pure joy that NEVER happens in coming of age programming especially not in the LGBT ones. This is purely drama free in the best way possible without any back and forth or push pull just love love love. So Warm and refreshing that you will only be crying for the mere fact that you don't have a Nick in your life. No matter who you are or how you identify WE all need a Nick. It helped me realize how unimportant coming out to everyone is. It's majorly emphasized in the season two plot line and I realized that love and relationships are about two people ANY two people and why do Gay people have this inner struggle causing them to believe that they are required to identify their orientation to everyone else around them.? I am grateful to "Heartstopper" for clarifying this for me after 52 years of foolishly feeling I was required to confess my gayness to all the heteros around me to ensure their comfort. Basically if your mature enough to handle a gay love story that's actually clean sweet and pure then look no further it's finally here! Sorry to spoil it a little bit more but season two also dives into all of the supporting characters and their love stories and their lack of love stories and it's really doing a great job at including all the colors of our flag and all the letters in our initialism up to and including allies. Nay sayers pipe down you sound like a buncha horses and give this a shot!
Before I lead you all to believe that I don't have any complaints I must add that Taos' hair is a monstrosity I mean an absolute horrible HORRIBLE painful to look at wreck. Charlie's eyebrows are just cruel and inhumane on the part of whoever is in charge of allowing them on camera should be immediately removed from their position and publicly shamed AND back to Tao, the costume and wardrobe department should immediately be given a surprise random drug screen because whatever they are on is making them believe that dressing a heterosexual teenage boy in clothing I've only ever seen worn by an extremely religious overly strict middle aged soccer mom. This must be an extremely dangerous substance or pharmaceutical. Please get them help.
Nine to Five (1980)
Anything under a TEN is criminal!
If I could rate it higher I would. It's 2023 and I'm laughing as much as hard as long and as loud as I did when I saw this in the theater in 1981 and was 10 years old. This is what comedy gold looks like. This is what today's writers need to study before they attempt to power up their computers.
All veterans of their craft at the time except for Dolly Parton, who was so nervous being her first film that she memorized everyone's character in the script to ensure professionalism and performance perfection, although unnecessary it more than paid off. If you can find anything negative to say about this movie than your sense of humor is lacking and perhaps comedies aren't your thing, maybe give documentaries a shot. I urge everyone to watch this movie and bask in the joy of what world used to be like before everyone became offended by offending those of us who are offended by everyone being offended by non offensive things, or something like that.
Kylie Minogue: Padam Padam (2023)
The chorus cannot escape your mind!
You'll be instantly HOOKED! I let the title fool me for the first month and caused me to be uninterested in hearing it thinking it was a silly term or foreign language which would make no sense to me. As it turns out I couldn't have been more wrong. When I say that the second I heard it, I mean the second I heard this song I was hooked. Jaws will drop when you realize that Padam is the sound of your heart beating. How clever! The video must've helped as it's filmed with a dominating red color on what appears to be a very retro looking motel, diner, and parking lot. The props are red red red, from the small screen television on the bed nightstand to the diners countertop. Kylie and all of the dancers are in head to toe red red red. It's very sexy and very well done! The catchy chorus will be impossible to escape your mind and no matter what age you are, wanting to learn every move to what will no doubt become a dance craze. Get onboard with the summer of 2023 anthem Padam Padam!
And Just Like That...: Met Cute (2023)
I have but one complaint
I already gave the series a rave review so in order to deliver my one complaint I have to review a singular episode.
Is it necessary for Miranda and Che to be having so much sex? The answer is NO if I do say so myself.
The problem is that it's not a good visually appealing kind of sex, it's more pornographic and vomit inducing. This has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Miranda is a woman and Che is nonbinary. It's uncomfortable to watch, it's even more uncomfortable to hear and no offense to anyone of a particular age, but Cynthia Nixon has no business doing fully nude sex scenes. I could forgive most of my complaints if the scenes were filmed in a more beautiful manner, such as "making love" versus "frat boy banging in a bathroom stall style". Nothing about it is attractive or appealing and it's not just season two episode one, this begins in season one and continues, so far into season two episode four (which is all that is currently available) with no signs of slowing down. So there you have it. You've been warned. Proceed with caution!
It's a Sin (2021)
Lydia West equals PHENOMENAL
Lydia West is the absolute BEST reason to watch this show. There's many great things about it but she is the BEST thing! It's an amazing depiction of what coming out was really like, although my day was in the nineties and this is the eighties the only difference between the two decades is that the AIDS crisis had long since arrived and millions of beautiful young gay men with their whole lives ahead of them have already fallen victim. With that heartbreaking tragedy aside, the discovery of who you really are back then was the most amazing and exciting time. The forming of your chosen gay friends that turn roommates that turn family. The bars the clubs the music the parties the XXX, I highly recommend being gay if you're lucky enough to be gay!
Enough about gay, I want to express the incredible acting of Lydia West. She is the perfect example of the kind of straight female every gay boy needs in his life. The quintessential FagHag. I hope I get away with using that term as it is in fact the most accurate description of the heterosexual female gay male relationship and West is the Best! I want to urge her to continue acting because she is an Oscar contender if I ever saw one one hundred percent mark my words! Lydia darling don't stop acting, you did the gay community proud!
Scream VI (2023)
Spoiler alert, 3 stars was generous
Ok, In 2023 there is zero chance in opposite of Heaven that I'm gonna take a subway 10 stops on Halloween surrounded by a bunch of juveniles in horror movie masks, we'll start there. So a group of college students who just a few minutes ago had access to a celebrity penthouse after she was brutally attacked and they can't afford a taxi across town? Sorry, not buying it. You don't have celebrity friends and apartments in Manhattan while forced to take a subway all while running for their lives? I really hate giving bad reviews but this nonsense leaves me no choice. Are these movies even considered horror or scary anymore? They're so laughable I can't see how. I was 24 years old when the original Scream came out and I was terrified for weeks. The ghost face mask was Uber creepy and something new. That was it I'm sorry to say. Although it was peppered with many humorous moments it still packed the horror punch necessary. I could ruin much more of this movie but why bother, I enjoy venting about what really ticked me off and I appreciate being able to do so. Enjoy the movie young horror fans.
Bachelorette (2012)
I love it but then again I'm not offended by everything!
It's a shame what happened to this world and movies offend everyone comics offend everyone etc etc blah blah. People really need to lighten up! Despite there being lots of celebrities in this movie it never really amped up into the mainstream. I love the dark humor the relatable characters that seem to be offending all the crybabies but the truth is, these characters are realistic and we all know them or we are them or we've steered very clear from them. Either way, if you were born in the 70's or the 80's chances are your sense of humor is still in tact unless you've somehow been brainwashed by a millennial or two who I still believe are here to destroy the world!
My Cousin Vinny (1992)
Only reviewing to rebut anything negative
I decided to write a review after seeing a few low ratings and pathetic reviews from people who I can only assume are millennials. It has been my long standing opinion that millennials are the most horrible generation in history and the most horrible people as well. Only a millennial could be miserable and unhappy enough to dislike this brilliant gem of movie. I'm not going to bore anyone let me say this, "I saw a lot of complaints about the language in this movie but it is hardly as bad as those reviewers say and if foul language offends then how do you leave the house? At least it's being used for comedy purposes here. The movie is hilarious And classic. Do yourselves a favor and don't miss this one. They don't make them like this anymore especially since everyone is offended by everything and everything is now ruined. They can't ruin movies though!
Fantasy Island (2021)
Roselyn Sanchez is pure PLATINUM!
The Elena Rourke character is so captivating and damn it FIERCE! I never use that word but it fits. Her sophistication and professional personality must be an actors dream and she is doing it in multiple award worthy ways. Sadly whenever this happens some Hollywood exec ruins it for everyone and shuts down production. Enjoy this modern version of classic series. Every lead character is superb and the story lines are moving relatable and tear jerking. Like most of my positive reviews say, if you're negative and cynical, expand your mind and love this as it deserves to be. Enjoy the beauty if all else fails. Xoxo.
Beyond a Reasonable Doubt (2009)
Seriously? Who green-lighted this project?
I cannot believe Michael Douglas was apart of this as it's so ridiculously unrealistic with an extremely low budget Lifetime movie feel. I don't want to tear it to shreds too much because it's perfect for a cold or rainy Sunday afternoon so don't let me laughing every few minutes at it's absurdity deter you from enjoying a cozy day on the couch with it.
I don't wanna spoil it for anyone and I don't have much more to say about it but I have several more characters required to fulfill this review lol. Ok. Michael Douglas and Jesse Metcalfe starring in a movie together, let that sink in and decide if you can sit through it with an open mind...
Abandoned (2010)
Britney, through no fault of your own darling...,
Who or whatever wrote, green-lighted, and directed this nonsense, really should be embarrassed. It's ridiculous, there's literally zero substance not to mention explanation for anything happening. If someone out there knows what gave the detective oops...(as I'm writing this review, my question was answered, I didn't understand how the detective knew she was telling the truth)
Well, it doesn't matter the whole movie is garbage. Dean Cain, makes sense accepting garbage scripts but Britney did not need to. I have been saying this for years, had we not lost her she would definitely be an Oscar winner by now. She had the talent just sadly not the time...
Cobra Kai (2018)
Anything under 10 Stars is a flat out LIE!
Karate Kid is a Gen Xers legacy like it or not...But this is the absolute BEST most entertainingly brilliant script writing I think I've ever had the privilege of reviewing! Not being a typical "guys guy" the original movie was good to me not great, but back then it's popularity, (more or less) forced me to see it more times than necessary and I was good with the first one without any sequels in my future. This however blew me away and how they managed to turn Johnny Lawrence into the most lovable guy in the millennium from being the most hated in the 80's, is going to remain a mystery and one of Hollywood's best kept secrets. I thought after my obsession with "Ozark" had to end with the series finale, I might never recover...Then I binged this and I will be forever grateful to Netflix! Cobra Kai has brought me back to life with an all new optimistic feeling that something AWESOME will be right around the corner!!
RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars: All Stars Snatch Game (2016)
10 cuz I'm obsessed with the series but I'm bout to spoil the house down
Season 2 All Stars episode 2 Snatch Game
I want to scream so herstorically that every queen hears me 10 years ago! There is no rule book and they do not have to vote how Miss skated through the entire season resting on the knowledge that Alaska will carry her into top 3 Roxy Andrews, who was so clearly the one who deserved to go home! I would've been honest from jump and said "Detox imo will be safe as she was not the worst character and clearly the best runway so upfront I will not pick her lipstick" then "at least Tatiana showed up to snatch game unlike Roxy so Roxy gurl bye hit the bricks! From this moment Roxy ceased all competition and napped on Alaskas coat tails knowing full well she can get away with anything if I survived tanking my character and sleeping in the corner while portraying the very damn person who just saved her from sucking as her! Jesus! Did that make sense I am fired up cuz Damn it Man why doesn't anyone untuck and reclaim the balls to tell everyone that they are all full of crap?!
You cannot agree to a vote criteria because the game the winning queens the losing queens the workroom buddies and alliances all change every week so the very air and tone of the workroom is always changing too. Whats this mean to You.. Anyone..? Ok I'll tell you... It means they are all lying to each other and know exactly how they are voting the second they are lucky enough to be a winner and are informed who the lowest queens are and they are all telling each other what they all wanna hear... it's called strategy and no one wants to admit cuz anyone who ever has gets the Axe at the first opportunity. (Morgan McMichaels)
Oh btw, which is why the begging for my life crap chat on the couch with the winning queen is so counterproductive embarrassing ridiculous and never swaying anyone as I said they are locked in a millisecond Ru reads the names. Again LIARS !
Writing this is telling myself to stop and get a life as I'm a little consumed. I'm embarrassed lol
Joking I love everything about this show the love the hate, my rants my criticism and all of you our fabulous community!!! Xoxo 😘 aren't we just so Neto and give you that ooooh I'm so happy and proud to be fabulously Gay 😂😂😂
Don't get me started on my explanation for Adore leaving as I completely understand her thoughts and wish I was there to help her clearly and affectively explain herself so that everyone walks away saying "i get it and makes perfect sense"
But sorry I'm not doing that as this will never end.
Love love love Adore!
One last part of my rant (clears throat) I mean of my "critique" lol
Don't these fools watch the show and realize someone needs to get an original tear inducing "I have so much more to show I have so much more to give I gave up everything to be here and I cannot go home yet" moment cuz when reality stars do that and all say the same crap like they are the first and only swearing to themselves this speech is going to save me from elimination, it makes a brand new vein pop on my neck for everyone who recites this and cause me to hate them with the same level of fire that I secretly hate my husband! Most know that is a lotta hate. I have 100 new veins 😡
It's pathetic unnecessary and will never ever help anyone escape public humiliation or gain a sympathetic save moment from anyone.
Mic 🎤 drop.
And Just Like That... (2021)
Perfectly aged with the times, it's AMAZING!
In real life, people places and society grow, evolves, matures, in real life it happens exactly this fast and this much. If you were a true die hard there from day one fan of SATC then you know how unbelievably different everything and everyone is from 1998 until today (2022)
There's a huge difference between people in there early 30's and early 50's. Cell phones weren't even in full bloom back then. Big picture tells anyone able to see that, is also able to see why this "reboot" is real, and done to perfection. Everything happening here is actually true while we age and is actually happening right now in New York while I write this review and tell anyone who hated this series, to open your mind take a lesson in artistic direction grow up and rewatch it because YOUR missing out!
Thank you HBO, SJP and Michael Patrick King for bringing this back to us...you did an amazing job!
RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars (2012)
Tens of thousands across the board!
Paulied-49663
IMO the BEST season of RPDR Regular and All
Star seasons combined. This particular
season is All Stars All Winners which we all
know has been wildly anticipated for a while,
and the build up the buzzing rumors and
overall "detail free" start was worth the wait
so much that if I could have fed my television
quarters to watch, I would have gladly bought
a ticket every week! The enormous
ENORMOUS amount of talent this group of
queens possess will leave even a new viewer
face cracking jaw dropping-lie gagged
through the entire binge worthy experience.
Because each queen has alreadv won a
previous season, they were all calm, cool,
collected and pressure free. I don't want to
spoil but I have to note that, No one goes
home and that alone alleviates so much
anxiety and pressure from each contestant,
(reminding us that All Stars rules tend to
change season to season with fresh new
twists etc.) this is my favorite part... They
ALL are so ready so rested so prepared so
tuned and toned to perfection. And this too
is my favorite part lol... they all get along so
beautifully that it's just pure entertainment on
a Broadway level for us at home. We don't
need any of that nonsense or drama we want
talent and jaw dropping entertainment and it
delivers from episode one to the finale. Do yourselves a favor and do not miss season 7 of all stars all winners!
