Yi ge du sheng nü de gu shi (1994)
Heartwarming
A young child has to struggle to keep herself in school and take care of her sick mother. Without her father who passed away, the young child is helpless in a tough situation if she doesn't help her mother she may die but if she doesn't help her school education she my be grounded and that can jeopardize her future.
So heartbroken and heartwarming to see Ming Ming fight for her mother's life. The best part is the music, capture the atmosphere well.
If there someone who doesn't like this film, maybe because it's sentimental that's ok but if someone dislikes just because it's old, well that person has no heart.
Hong ying tao (1995)
Too brutal
Two Chinese kids comes Russia to escape capitalism that had Zhou Mins father killed. But after a few times in Russia, the German Nazis appears. And then hell breaks lose for Zh Min.
The actors are good but that's all I can say. The movie is more focused on the brutality then the story. And I don't like the Chinese boy who is way to confident in this movie despite all the bad that happened, I guess he is the directors son or cousin or something.
Also a Nazi is fascinating by a Chinese girl, that's hilarious more then tragic. Nice try communist party.
Fankang zhe (2011)
A woman's struggle for peace.
During the Japanese occupation of China in World War II, a mysterious Assassin attacks the Japanese army one by one, this cause attention worldwide.
Finally a heroine that is feminine and yet deadly. I like that idea the killer is a woman and a beautiful one in the right way. Hu Ling Meng did great job for her role.
The movie itself is great even though it's not a war movie. The story takes place in World War II but far from it. Imagine shogun movie in World War II, or Hanzo ninja in 1940s a ninja movie but more serious.
Best of all, no explosions here and there, a little Chinese CGI sometimes but that didn't bauther me.
