Narrator sounds like a kid trying to have a deep voice.
15 March 2023
I'm only one episode in so I can't really rate the show yet, but this narrator is driving me nuts. He reminds me of prepubescent teenager trying to make their voice deeper. I've honestly skipped past the show every time he speaks.

I like the concept of the show. It's kinda like survivor but with more focus on the surviving part. IMDB says I need 256 more characters so I guess I'll keep typing because I really want people to see the disdain I have for this narrator. I hope who ever did the voice overs doesn't see this review because this might all be a little harsh, but honestly if your entire job is to have a nice voice then he failed miserably.

Overdramatized mess.
12 May 2022
The story is undoubtably insane and the documentary tells it well in the first half, but it slowly devolves into an overdramatized mess.

One of the siblings thought the doctors motives were a racist way to create more white people, but that completely ignores the fact that none of the original mothers and fathers were non-white.

Another sibling thought the doctor was in a baby making cult because the *Christian* doctor had Bible quotes about pregnancy... in his pregnancy office.

The overdramatizing and wild theories was very unnecessary and seemingly used to extend a story that didn't need to be extended. You could skip the last half and miss nothing.

What happened to Pixar?
18 March 2022
The beautiful animation was there and they had a great message about growing up as a woman, but this movie just didn't have the Pixar magic. I don't know if it was the weird art choices to make the movie look anime or if it was the cringeworthy jokes that will be outdated in just a couple years... but the movie just didn't feel "Pixar". In terms of animated movies, it was a decent film that I would recommend to families but in terms of Pixar movies, it just match the brilliance of their other films.

Bad Acting, Good Show.
12 September 2021
Steve Martin is really the only good actor on the show. All the other characters have a flat monotone performance and the timing for jokes just seems off. I liked the chemistry between the characters, but the strange acting was unexpected being that the cast is well known.

That being said, I really enjoy the plot for the show as it's a unique take of a whodunnit. It's all very quickly and at times cartoonish, but I've been enjoying the mystery the whole time.

(Side note: It seems that the reviews are being bombarded with Selena fans. The 10 star reviews are a bit over the top haha.)

Good Premise Ruined By Pandering
2 September 2021
The main issue with the show is that it's based entirely off of stereotypes. At first these jokes were silly but you quickly get annoyed with the over the top pandering that this show engages in. When they introduced the character "Twink" (Which is just slang for a young gay guy), I realized that the stereotypes were going to be the focus for the show.

The storyline had some nice promise and there are some good jokes, but unfortunately they can't shine when paired with the other nonsense. You can make a show with gay characters and not need to have a "Yasss Queen" every other sentence.

Not Funny
31 August 2021
I went into this show expecting a dark comedy, as that's what the reviews said, but all I experienced was a very slow cringy drama. You could tell where the jokes were supposed to be but they all just felt bland and awkward. For example, in one scene a girl's water breaks and the manager steps in it and tells someone to clean it up... You can see the joke potential is there but they execute it in the least funny way possible.

On top of this, every single character is unlikeable in some way. I know that the characters being unlikable is an important element of the show's satire, but having every single person on screen be shallow and pretentious makes this show painful to watch.

I'm kind of shocked by all the praise this show is receiving. I would not recommend watching.

So weird but I can't look away.
27 August 2021
Zombies, Witches, and Puking Cats... It's all so strange but I was glued to the screen the whole time. A show like this only comes around once in a blue moon, the last time I got these genuine bizarre vibes was with The OA and Legion. Beautiful acting and a completely unique show.

Highly recommend!

Great Actors, Intriguing Mystery
26 August 2021
I gotta be honest and say I have no clue how this show is gonna turn out, but I'm enjoying every second of it.

Nine Perfect Strangers is a masterful tale of lives. Each patient comes clinic with a unique problem and perspective on the world. As the show progresses, you are given a glimpse into each characters dirty laundry and the vices they use to control it. The problems that each patient faces feels real and they connect to issues that any viewer could relate to. The casting and diversity of stories is what truly makes this show wonderful to me.

On top of the treatment there is an underlining uneasiness happening in the clinic. I don't know how the story will play out but you get a clear sense that there is something more mysterious going on behind the scenes. I'm fully intrigued with this show and can't wait to see how everything plays out.

The Ms. Pat Show (2021– )

Love Ms. Pat, Dislike This Show.
17 August 2021
I've watched Ms. Pat for a few years and I've even been to one of her shows and had a great time, but this sitcom just doesn't do it for me. I appreciate the use of a live audience/taping and I liked how each episode addressed a issue that real people actually deal with, but the rest of the show just felt lackluster. There is a few clever jokes here and there but most of the jokes miss the mark and they repetitively use "White People" as the punch line. I'm not one to complain about racial humor as Ms. Pat does it in her comedy but after the 20th "White Person" joke just in the first episode, I couldn't help but feel that the joke writing was just cheap and lazy.

I love Ms. Pat and I wish her the best but unfortunately this show left me disappointed.

I hate musicals, but this is great!
13 August 2021
I went into this show fully expecting to hate it as musicals don't do it for me, but I was pleasantly surprised! The show is more like a parody of musicals while also being a musical itself, they found the perfect way to make fun of the genre while at the same time executing it wonderfully. The humor is silly and at times kinda cringy but it all felt right for the show like it is meant to be that way.

Highly recommend you give this show a chance, even if you have doubts!

Ignore the bad reviews.
11 August 2021
Is this the best movie ever made? No, but this is certainly one of DC's greatest productions. The entire film is over the top in every way from extreme gore to the main villain being a starfish but it offers a nice fresh take on the super hero genre and I had a great time watching it. The best way to explain the experience is a Marvel movie for a more adult audience.

If I had one complaint it would be that the plot had some troubles pacing towards the middle with some weird jumps in time, but this movie in no way deserves the 1 star reviews I've been seeing and I suspect these reviewers haven't even watched it based on what I've been reading.

Overall, I recommend watching The Suicide Squad. It's a fresh take on an oversaturated genre.

Feels like a 2010s UFO show, in a bad way.
9 August 2021
This show had me double checking that it came out this year because everything about it feels like it was made in 2010. It had the old docu-style of writing/narration and it didn't provide any new UFO stories. It all just felt very low budget for today's standards, especially since it has the Netflix stamp of approval.

Overall disappointed. If you got nothing else to watch go for it, but don't expect much.

Absolutely Beautiful CGI
1 August 2021
Before I say anything else I just wanted to mention that the CGI is absolutely beautiful in the documentary. I was surprised to see no other review mentioned the stunning CGI. The graphics are hands down one of the best I've ever seen in a documentary, especially the scene that shows the tree/mycelium network.

The documentary starts off pretty good, it offers a lot of interesting information and explores the world of fungi. We get introduced to a few scientists/hobbyists who make up the work of fungi research (They all look exactly how you'd expect a mushroom researcher to look haha). I particularly liked learning about how trees will use the mycelium network to give nutrients to each other.

The second half of the documentary does take a turn for the worst. The documentary switches from being about the fungi, to being about the people that like fungi. Though I do enjoy the people's enthusiasms for the field, It made the documentary slow down substantially and I found myself losing attention. You could cut off the last 30 minutes or so and the documentary would be amazing.

Overall, I recommend watching Fantastic Fungi but don't feel guilty turning it off towards the end because you won't miss much.

Blood Red Sky (2021)

Great beginning, decent end.
29 July 2021
The film had a great start, The concept was a good unique twist and I thought the mix of foreign and English actors added a nice element. The movie is quite gory but done really nicely, the special effects and makeup are really good. There is not much to complain about the first half of the film other than the kid being quite annoying haha.

The second half of the film seems to drop in quality in both writing and plot, with the characters throwing any logic they had out the window. The ending was a bit disappointing and didn't seem to do the first half justice, it left me feeling unsatisfied.

Overall, I do recommend Blood Red Sky. Despite the lacking second half, the film was still a good watch.

Amazing Narrator, Great Series

Accurately historic and very entertaining, a hard combo to get right. Was never bored and the narrator put the cherry on the top for this show!

We the People (2021)

The show is political not educational.
7 July 2021
95% of the show is progressive interpretations of historic US documents (Bill of Right's, Constitution, etc) and 5% of the show is actually about the history. I wish the show would've centered around showcasing the history and how everything came to be from a neutral point so that the viewer could come to their own interpretations. Though I consider myself a very centrist person, the very distinct political leaning involved in a show that's supposed to be educational gave me a very bad taste, especially since the show is directed at kids. You can teach history without interjecting personal ideology.

Giving 3 stars because the animation and music were nice, but I wouldn't consider this a good educational show.

Completely Mindless

It has some clever jokes, but the majority of the movie was mindless potty humor mixed with wokeness. Could be enjoyable if you watch drunk or high...

This is what superhero shows should be!
25 June 2021
Not usually a fan of superhero shows because the stories they tell most always need a movies high budget to get the job done, but Loki is different.

I can't imagine what Disney has spent producing this show, but it was definitely worth it. Everything from the special effects to the A list actors makes this a truly remarkable experience. I'm very much looking forward to how it all plays out.

Highly recommend, even if you aren't a superhero fan!

Clarkson's Farm (2021– )
9/10
A feel good family show
24 June 2021
I didn't know much about Jeremy Clarkson before watching Clarkson's Farm or what to expect with this show, but I was pleasantly surprised by his charming nature and brilliantly done narration.

The show is a silly laid back adventure into becoming a farmer but at times highlights genuine struggles with the lifestyle or how farming could potentially affect the ecosystem. What's impressive is that Jeremy manages to do this without sounding annoyingly preachy, but instead appears to actually care about how these issues affect hard working farmers.

I suspected the show was going to be heavily scripted with Jeremy pretending to do the work while actual farmers do everything behind the scenes being that he is 60, but as the series goes along you can tell that Jeremy was actually invested in this farm life. At one point he gets up in the middle of the night to birth some sheep and no camera men were there to film it, Other times you see Jeremys girlfriend actually working in the store they created and the employees they hired... Instances like these showed me that this experience was more than a show to Jeremy and his girlfriend. At the end, even through all the missfortune, you can see that this was a welcomed change of pace for the life of a man who made his career in the fast lane.

I highly recommend the show, its great for the whole family.

This show is my guilty pleasure.

The acting is average, the writing is horrible, and the plot is the same each season just slightly different... but for some reason I couldn't stop watching.

Lucifer (2016–2021)

What do you desire?... For this show to end
23 June 2021
I really wanted to like Lucifer, but unfortunately I can't keep watching any longer.

The characters are very shallow and lack any sort of relatability, Lucifers mother being the worse. The only character who is appealing in my eye's is Lucifer. He is charming and the whole devil plot adds a unique layer of humor, but one character can't hold a show together and it feels like the writers are constantly falling back on the devil gimmick. I feel the actor who plays Lucifer is being wasted on this show.

The script is subpar and at many times cringy, the level of forced drama is competitive with a late night soap opera. I don't want to blame the actors abilities because they are unable to shine when tied down to such a bland generic script, but I can't keep watching. It really feels like the devil storyline was the basis for the show and everything else was a poorly done afterthought. The only saving grace for the show is general curiosity to see how the Lucifer/God storyline plays out, but after seasons of little to no progression... I give up.

I don't recommend wasting your time watching this show and I'm amazed Netflix decided to pick it up.

If you like Mysteries, Detectives, or the Philly Accent... then you need to watch this show!
23 June 2021
The actors all managed to perfect a very specific Philly accent which is insanely impressive. Mare and her daughter were especially great, a lot of truly emotional moments.

The script never left me feeling bored and the writers managed to add subtle humor that makes the audience not feel like they are being force fed jokes.

The plot was unpredictable, which is saying a lot, because predictable plots is why I tend to stay away from detective dramas. Even when you think the crime was solved they still had you guessing.

The only reason this isn't a 10 star review is because I feel the last ending was unneeded and it actually took away from the whole storyline for the sake of a final plot twist.

Can't wait for another season!

Sweet Tooth (2021– )
5/10
Season 1 great, Season 2 is not the same show.
7 June 2021
** Had to come back and update my review to a 5 (was 8) after trying to get through the second season. I'm not sure what drama happened with the production to cause this mess. But season 2 was a completely different vibe from season 1. The quality is gone, the acting is bad, and the plot is mindless. It's a shame they ruined this very unique and enjoyable show.**

I had no clue what to expect when deciding to watch Sweet Tooth, the trailer looked a bit cheesy and the hybrid idea seemed like a gimmick... but boy was I wrong.

The show hooks you in instantly, the production quality is amazing, the acting is top notch, and the plot was unique and interesting. My favorite aspect is that they tell the story by switching between multiple character plots that are in some ways connected with each other and it gives you a wide scope on how everything takes place (no spoilers).

My only gripe with the show is that towards the last few episodes the show slows down substantially. The characters started getting into deep conversations over and over and over again, after the 10th one you start to get bored. It for sure feels like a bit of filler was added to the ending to stretch out the episodes, but it wasn't too bad.

Overall, I recommend watching Sweet Tooth and I can't wait for another season!

If you are a Snowpiercer fan you will hate it.
23 June 2020
The Snowpiercer movie was something so unique and out there that it would never be able to be recreated in TV forum. If you go into this show expecting it to be like the movie you will be disappointed, but if you go into this show with fresh eyes it actually is not a bad show. The budget seems a bit low, the acting is sometimes boring, but overall I'm entertained. If this was a standalone show the reviews would be a lot higher.
