Second City TV (1976)
Funniest sketch comedy show ever
I never saw the actual first run of SCTV, but my late night insomnia opened me up to it during reruns. Now I can't live without watching. The amount of stars that were on it(Catherine O'Hara, John Candy, Rick Moranis, etc.) make this oh-so enjoyable to watch. I'm a big fan of SNL too, but in my opinion, SCTV surpasses it. It was just a truly great show. I love its characters, its material, basically everything about it.
Homicide: Life on the Street (1993)
Greatest Show Ever
I've seen a lot of shows that I thought were excellent, but H:LOTS surpasses them all. It was written extremely well, the acting was great, and the characters were well-formed. Homicide made its detectives seem like human beings, not some superheroes who could do everything. I'm so happy that Court TV shows reruns, so I can still watch this wonderful series even after its demise.
Homicide: The Movie (2000)
Excellent for fans and non-fans alike
***SPOILERS*** ***SPOILERS*** Well, seeing as I am a major H:LOTS fan, maybe I liked the movie more than normal people would. However, this movie is still excellent. It had tons of surprises, and it gave some more closure to the series. While I was sad that Bayliss turned into a murderer, the overall feeling I felt was satisfied.
