Skyline (2010)
Low expectation, however still low result
I watched this with a quite low expectation, because the rating in IMDb stated only 4.5/10. For a medium budget movie, the special effect was quite smooth. The storyline wasn't quite original. It may remind you to Cloverfield, District 9 and Independence Day. And the aliens' tentacles will remind you to War of the Worlds. Eric Balfour did quite well in this movie. The best scene was when he smashed an alien with a brick and then with bare hands. I found the character Oliver was unnatural. What i found not brilliant was the ending. Well... like almost-everybody-died-at-the-end-of-the-movie style. Jarrod and Elaine must be survived, because a sequel is planned. Overall, maybe quite amusing for a hardcore alien fans.
Touch (2012)
Nice start but nothing new
It's very hard to separate "24" from Kiefer Sutherland. Every time he says "please" in Ep. 1 or maybe later he'll say "I beg you", it will always remind me to the mighty Jack Bauer.
It feels like watching "24", Mercury Rising (1998) and Crash (2004) combined. Oh I forgot to mention Heroes.
The linking of the characters is very similar to that in Crash. The kid with the ability is similar to Mercury Rising, but I prefer David Mazouz and Kiefer Sutherland's acting performance than Miko Hughes and Bruce Willis'. And the cinematography is "Heroes"-looks.
Joining all together, i can't say it's an ugly story. However i hope that it will get better and better in the upcoming episodes.
