Lolita (1962)
very deep
This film of you know much about the director Stanley Kubrick well that could almost say it all. If you are not the type of person who likes to sit back and really get into a movie then this is for sure not your cup of tea. The movie will keep you in a trance through the whole thing from the first word to the very last moment. Sue Lyons the girl playing Lolita is just fabulous in her role. The typical teen but at the same time we see Kubrick bring out her sexual careless nature. However with the time frame it was shot in he did have to be careful. Of course last but never least Peter Sellers adding his wit and touch of dark humor top it off and make a wonderful film.
Snake Eyes (1998)
vintage cage
Here we get to see Cage use all of his talents in one film. He gets to show off his cocky attitude while at the same time showing that he can be a bit of tough guy like in con-air. This film focuses on a murder and a boxing match something that may seem like an odd combanation but as the movie progresses it makes more and more sense. I found that it was one of those films where although very remote you could say back and say to yourself you know this might actually happen. If you are a fan of cage this is one film not to pass up as i said it combines all of his best features plus there are a few schockers along the way to keep you saying cool or awsome
Fear (1990)
Very intense
This is a film that has you on the edge of your seat from the first moment. You at times wonder to yourself wait a moment who is good and who is bad here. a very well done guessing game at the same time boo scare you film.
One reason I say it is so well done is because it is a made for t.v. movie and in my opinion not many made for t.v. movies are that well produced. However this is done in great theatre style well worth checking out if you are a horror/thriller genre fan. Ally Sheedy gives a great preformances going away from comedy and into serious here
The Deer Hunter (1978)
possibly one of most gripping war films,.
I found that this was one of the best war films I ever saw. I was found of it because not only did it take on aspects of war but it took the time to look at how it affected all lives involved. This was very well made and I actually at moments felt as I was in the film itself. I feel that Walken gives a wild performance here. I truly would say to see this film. Especially if you have not watched it. And even if have watch it again it is one that never becomes old.
