Control (2004)
Unrealistic and illogical
Main character is a aggressive, remorseless psychopath. Doctors give him pills in order to become less aggressive and to be able to feel remorse. At first, the pills have no effect. Then, they suddenly do seem to have an effect, and they let him out in the society, in his own hometown. He continue to behave like a nice guy. The movie is unrealistic in so many ways. At the beginning of the movie, why does the doctor visit him unprotected, making it easy (and almost predictable) for the psychopath to attack him? Why would they want to let a guy who have committed several killings and serious crimes be released? Why put him in his hometown where people could recognize him? And so on... There are lots of other things too that are quite annoying to watch. As a defense, I should add that dangerous people actually ARE let out in the society, often by gullible people who think they are cured, or woo think they just deserve to be free. But a multiple killer..? Some may think the story in itself - about modifying people's characteristics - is fascinating. I think so too - that's why I watched the movie. But the story could have been made far better and far less shallow.
How the West Was Won (1976)
Best western series ever
A huge success here in Sweden when it was first televised, and has been shown over and over again on different TV channels here (including as recent as yesterday). For some reason it does not seem to be as well known in America as it is here in northern Europe. Among the things you will find are great acting, great characters, great script, great direction, excitement, emotions and humor. It is also educating as it tells the story of the situation in North America during the 1860s, etc. It also pays great respect to the native Americans, portraying them as generally fair and honest people trying to live in peace with nature.
American Psycho (2000)
Very overrated
I have just, for the third time, tried to watch more than just 15-30 minutes of this movie, without succeeding this time neither. Actually, I think it's a boring and exaggerated and unrealistic movie in many ways. Poor direction, poor acting (including the lead role), and disturbingly high (although quite good) music. I have nothing against movies about psychopaths or serial killers (like "Henry, portrait of a serial killer"), but this movie just seems so very shallow and bad. I can't even see what's good in it. Why not instead create a more realistic movie? (English is not my native language so apologies for writing errors.)
Gacy (2003)
Worthless and bad movie
Of all 50+ movies I've voted on here on IMDb, this is the only one I gave 1 out of 10. It's just such a lousy film in so many ways. It is shallow, it doesn't seem to portrait Gacy at all correctly. It actually spreads out erroneous impressions and facts, rather than helping to understand more about Gacy and other serial killers. I don't find the movie exciting either. I don't think I can think of a lousier movie, especially considering what it could have been with a better director, better acting, and perhaps better research. I remember seeing another movie on Gacy. I don't remember when, but it was probably like 15 years ago. That movie was much better. I also recommends Discovery's Crime Nights for those who wants to understand more about serial killers. To summarize, this movie (Gacy, 2003) simply is terribly bad.
When the Bough Breaks (1994)
Bad acting, bad direction
I think this movie had several good points, but also several flaws. The story is a bit too unrealistic, and I think Ally Walker overacted. Normal people in real life simply don't behave the way she does in the movie.
I think it seems to be an interesting manuscript (although with flaws), but I found the work of the director and the actors and actresses rather poor. Not very realistic at all.
Parent Trap: Hawaiian Honeymoon (1989)
Not funny
I thought this movie wasn't funny at all. I didn't laugh a single time. I think the jokes wasn't funny, and the acting was poor. There are probably thousands of better movies.
