Herself (2020)
Would have been cool...
But why couldn't they let the character and her daughter live in peace at the end? Instead the antagonist torches everything she worked for. More likely than not, that house didn't have any insurance on it. Not sure how she's going to rebuild? Sure he's in prison, but that's not enough justice for the character.
The Big Sick (2017)
Realistic Love Story
Sometimes the stories of how people fall in love aren't perfect, and that's okay. That's what this is, a true story with it's flaws and mistakes. There's plenty of challenges along the way that make the story so unique and interesting. It's also very funny!
Brittany Runs a Marathon (2019)
Relatable for the older millennials
If you're getting a little older and the bar scene is slowly becoming less of a fun place to be, you can relate to this movie. As you transition out of this lifestyle, the loud music, the transactional friendships, you realize there's more to life. You also start to self medicate, realizing that you're just replacing one poison with another. Only when you face your problems head on, does life become better for you.
This is exactly what this movie does. Jillian Bell is so good at being the character and comes across as naturally funny in situations that aren't over done and exaggerated. She makes mistakes like any person would, but keeps pushing on. That's what makes this movie great, because it's imperfect.
I hope you'll enjoy this one as I did.
