A 200 million dollar headache!
13 December 2020
Way too confusing, way too loud and horrible choice of actor for the lead role. The movie had one cool scene (when they robbed the plutonium truck) but the rest of the movie was impossible to follow. The explanation scene at the gun range was way too short and offered little insight to what followed. Most of the characters had no depth and the main relationship between the wife and Washington made little sense. Did they really blow up a 747 for this movie? What a waste. Maybe Leo DeCap could have saved this film but even Michael Caine didn't help. Everyone says watch it again, but I don't think I have enough Tylenol to do so.

Entertaining but weak plot...
11 December 2020
I loved Susan and Geena in this movie, but I found the story very cliche like and too simple. I feel that they could have done so much more with this film but were just out of ideas or imagination. They should have expanded more on the abusive relationships the women had (what the heck happened in Texas), but I guess that would have been too real for Hollywood. Also the fact that Susan's character was kind of a bully should have been more of a focus but was kind of swept under the carpet.

Oh Elizabeth...
11 December 2020
If they made the entire movie just of Elisabeth Shue's face I would have given it the same rating. She is an incredible actress and I find her beauty just captivating. With the said, the story is unbelievable and Nick Cage was just ok (no idea how he got an Oscar for this one). I'm not anti Nick (I like many of his movies like ConAir and the Rock) I just thought that playing a drunk was not that hard, though he wasn't bad at all. And what was with the Russian guys in the beginning, that plot element went nowhere. Oh, did I mention how much I like Elisabeth. Oh man, they don't make em like that anymore do they?

HAL saved the day..

I agree with many of the folks on here, that the movie should have been entirely focused on the second act. There's no doubt that this movie was well ahead of its time, but I disagree that it was scientifically accurate. It seems to me that the spacewalks were too far off (the ship was supposed to be heading towards Jupiter yet he just floated towards it like it was stationary). The beginning was horrible (I'm an evolutionist but c'mon now, those apes were savages, not humanoids) and the ending was absolute nonsense. This movie gets most of its stars solely based on the fact that it was made in the 60s.

Entertaining and educational...

As someone who spent their entire career in the electrical distribution industry, this movie was very fulfilling. Acting was good, production top notch, my only complaint was Tesla should have had more screen time, not just for historical reasons but his character (actor) was very charming and had much more insight to offer than the limited opportunity he was given in this film.

Good movie but not the comedy I was expecting...
11 December 2020
I enjoyed this film. It was a bit more serious than I was expecting. The last 20 minutes or so was pretty hilarious though. I felt that Dr. Strangelove's character was tragically underused and could have added to the humor earlier on. The British officer exchange guy was great though, and George C. Scott was also very entertaining. Couldn't believe James Earl Jones was so young though, didn't recognize him at all.

Meh, it was ok...

Visually appeasing movie, decent acting, but as many said, the story was just too simple and there was little mental stimulation. Not sure if it's worth a second watch, but it was worthwhile to see at least once.

awesome movie

My first foray into the world of K-Pop movies and I have to say I'm very surprised. Action packed, creative plot, great acting and has a strong moral lesson of unity. For a movie about a geopolitical conflict it was amazing how respectful and anti-propaganda-ish this movie was (besides a few cracks about gluttony and starvation). It was a bit long but I didn't feel it was dragged out at all. I pray one day Korea will be reunited and we all live in peace.

Warning: Spoilers
I agree with another review that Jean Reno didn't really perform well in his role. He was the reason that I watched it but he was very shallow in this movie. Nonetheless, a solid crime thriller with a pretty complex plot for a typical gangsta cop shoot out. The ending was a bit predictable though everyone says they didn't see it coming... c'mon now, I was like happy ending? Really? There we go... that makes more sense.

Enjoyable movie. Acting is solid. Mix of real life footage it was hard to tell what was staged and what was real. Really makes you wonder why civilised human societies still insist on bombing each other to the stone ages.

Stupid dance scene
11 October 2020
I thought it was balanced. Obviously sympathizing with terrorists won't go well with Israelis. But the dancing was cool until they ruined the climax with it.

the music killed this for me!
17 August 2020
First time ever reviewing a movie on IMDb.

pros: production quality looked very professional, the two lead actors were very good looking, and the scenery was nice

cons: the music was just horrible and out of place, the plot got bring very fast, the acting was very bad (perhaps a language issue)

I couldn't finish this movie, every time you felt like maybe it would bring pleasure to you, the cheesy 90s sounding pop rock songs just sabotaged the mood.
