Further than before
2 June 2023
Into the Spider-Verse made a great change for animated cinema. It was a masterpiece where writers, animators, actors and musicians gave it all to show how Spider-Man inspires us and how animation can be truly art. Now, this sequel somehow manages to surpass the quality that the previous movie delivered. It's just an amazing narration full of color, art experiments, comedy, action and a deeply humane plot. The characters we met before grow in the best way as we follow them through their circumstances. The new ones make themselves memorable and fit into the story without making us lose track on protagonist Miles Morales.

The story circles around the question "Saving one person or saving every world", creating a complex conflict of humanity and rationality for Spider-Man. This exposes the best side of the character from two different perspectives, as the plot swings from earth to earth perfectly, bringing overwhelming moments, unforgettable characters, nice easter eggs and a great step forward for Spider-Man in animation. It's coherent, intense, funny, dramatic and visually stunning. Solid script and a promising future for the third movie. Spider-Man mythology at its best. Music on point. Perfect casting. Animation, beautiful beyond what words can explain.

Also, Spot is amazing.

Better Call Saul: Plan and Execution (2022)
Season 6, Episode 7
10/10
Mejor cliffhanger imposible
11 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
"Better Call Saul" has amazed me with its excellence and uniqueness in writing, direction, acting and evolution. This mid-season finale left me a thrill that no other series/movie had left me since I finished watching "Breaking Bad". The events that lead to this point of the story let me see that Saul Goodman has officially BROKEN BAD.

At first I had fun with Saul and Kim's complex plan to ruin Howard, specially when the commercial crew appeared (I love those guys). But the more drastric the consequences were for Howard, the worse I felt for him. Patrick Fabian did a great work as Howard Hamlin until this episode, the end of his story for now. I also liked the plot about Lalo watching the laundry and talking to Hector about his plans of attacking Gustavo's men, but I think that the focus of the episode is the change that breaks both Howard and Saul. Saul did his best trying to ruin Howard's career and life, helped by Kim, and that makes me see that the righteous Jimmy McGill is dead. I don't blame Howard for what happened to Chuck, but it seems that Saul never stopped doing. Even if this is for a so-called fair retaliation, I can't help but feel sorry for the way the tragedy takes Howard in his worst time.

I was so shocked when Lalo showed up and shot Howard. I was speechless, amazed by how a Netflix series had caught me emotionally. This was a cruel ending for Howard, but that is what makes it so memorable. The thrill of injustice as the perfect cliffhanger before we see Saul and Kim dealing with this situation, the one that put them down into the criminal world that's meant for Saul in Breaking Bad.

Nothing left to say, just Vravo Bince. Shoutout to Schnauz and the actors for their work here. Mejor cliffhanger imposible. I'll miss you, Howard. Vravo Bince!

Spider-Man (2002)
9/10
Spectacular beginning
11 June 2021
Personally, I enjoyed this movie more than Spider-Man 2. It is a great combination of action and drama with great characters, iconic dialogues, good jokes, good action shots and a development that every Spider-Man movie needs. It's not perfect or close to be, but I consider it as one of the best Spider-Man adaptations ever made, a good work from Raimi.

Duncanville (2020–2022)
7/10
Typically enjoyable
6 October 2020
"Duncanville" is a simple series with a simple plot. It tries to be entertaining and relatable to young people. Does it get to do it? Yes. The series has a humor that knows where to stop, and characters whose personalities you can see in yourself. But they are a bit empty sometimes. Some jokes aren't good and some topics are just unusual. The first two episodes are the best ones to me, but I think the story they present is forgotten easily some episodes later. Duncan is a funny teenager with a female voice, it's nice. The other characters are fine, but they could be working better. The plot doesn't seem to, like, exist or advance through the first season, but there's so much more to watch yet. I hope it gets better and finds its own essence, because it doesn't look so different from any other "adult" series. However, "Duncanville" is imperfect and incomplete, but it's funny as the average show you watch once in a while. It could be so much better, I hope it's just a matter of time.
