Double Blind (2023)
Wasn't expecting this Movie
Had low expectations but Great direction for a science fiction, thriller, with realism. If you enjoyed John carpenters " The Thing" with Kurt Russell you might love this cinematic masterpiece too. Don't have many 10/10 movies. Could I have given it a 9 or 8 possibly but it was really entertaining and enjoyable and wish Hollywood would make more movies like this today. Felt like the good ole days of cinema agin. Worth the watch! I think this movie is going to be like that song everyone said they heard first before it got really popular. I will definitely rewatch this, with someone, to see if they were as impressed as I was.
The Deer Hunter (1978)
Actually hunt? probably won't like this film. lmk
The Deer Hunter is ironic because the only people watching this and giving it glowing reviews are not hunters. If you enjoy a cynical deranged movie, this is a good one. If you like playing mental gymnastics and imagining yourself as a prisoner of war watch this movie. It's so slow and boring except for one part of the movie. It could literally take 30 minutes to convey everything this movie is trying to tell you. I just don't understand the purpose of this movie it's kinda like the movie Saw, where they just hurt people for the heck of it. This movie is highly overrated. You have to be a certain kind of person to enjoy this film.
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #@%! (2023)
So close
Death is the inevitable! The guy makes some great points but misses so much. Death; Most try not to think much about it. Some think not carrying about it and accepting it is fulfilling. Then it comes down to this... is there an afterlife? Do things matter at all ? If there is no afterlife then nothing matters and nothing will ever matter. You live; feel; experience; and that's it. Whatever makes you happy; you are the god of your life. But.... If your wrong; There are great consequences to how you choose to live this one life. Heaven/hell ? Who is God? Why am I here ? What is my purpose? We all have made mistakes and done bad things. Doing the wrong thing is called Sin. What dose sin cause; a broken relationship from a perfect God. What can take away my bad ? Doing good ? No; what has been done is done. So what then ? Jesus; who is God come down from heaven who is perfect; was murdered and died on purpose so that his blood would wash away are sins. He took are sin upon himself; paying our debt and rose agin from the grave because he is the only conqueror of DEATH. To Trust in him and ask him to come into your life and change us so that we no longer are a salve to sin. We give him our earthly lives freely. We start a relationship with God and begin to slowly be changed by him. We live righteously for him because we love him and are new people because of him. We agin will live with him as perfect people without sin and pain. If you reject Jesus calling on your life you will not enter his home and will be cast out into a place of crying and teeth gnashing. I wish for no one to have to go there; but it is True. Jesus comes to save the sick and dying not ones who don't believe they need a doctor. Everything you do is known by him and you will have to give an answer for every thought and action. A judgment! It's who you know personally that will get you into this paradise. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8)The Bible has all the answers you need. It is God's word. To stare death in the face and not be afraid knowing God is in control and loves you. It is a peace that surpasses all understanding.
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
The GOAT of movies ? Maybe
Is it Michael Jordan of cinematography? We'll probably not but everyone has an opinion for the greatest. This movie is Deep on a soul level. This movie can be watched and rewatched, it ties together so many strings of plot line. It's a mosaic masterpiece in my opinion but hey I'm a young adult male from the boondocks of Mississippi, what do I know?. It's one of my favorites and merits the #1 spot on IMDB. I personally have it in my top 5 All time. Braveheart being my Goat. Maybe I'm biased since Mississippi is graced with Morgan Freeman but this movie in no way deserves the 1 stars from the few trolls. Then agin if you are one of the 100 haters of the 2,000,000 good reviews then I say scoreboard speaks for itself. Also I'll agree I don't agree with half of the "top IMDb movies".
Lou (2022)
Great cinematography decent plot
The picture feels similar to that of Twilight's, with beautiful forest and overcast thunder storms. Show us home alone style tactics in the woods and I would have been all in. Instead we get the home alone kid hand to hand with the robbers. The plot line can be seen in a number of films yet the new ideals of modern society are present. A new twist is that the hero is not only female but is at the cusp of the afterlife. She is old and decrepit but finds the strength of Rambo. I wish it was more believable if they used more of her mind and wits as her superpower. Brains vs bronze would have been a better choice in this action packed old lady's arsenal.
Rambo's grandmother still wouldn't be believable in any hand to hand combat, taking this out would have made this movie great.
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004)
Spoof ? Tax fraud ? Illuminati Initiation ?
This movie was made for one of 3 reasons.... They are trying to make fun of Hollywood A movies.
They paid all the actors way to much money and the actors split it with the director after the film flopped.
Reason number three, the Illuminati made this film and if you agree that it's a good movie you have the chance of initiation.
This movie was made with iPhone.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Old School without the wokeness
So refreshing! Tom cruise killed it with this movie. I hope he continues to keep making more movies unaffected by the liberal progressive woke movement. 3 generations of pilots went to go see this movie and from 80 to 50 to 25 each of us loved this film. My grandfather has been to the movies twice probably in 30 years, he likes clean movies with good morals and characters. He picked a good one to Go to !
Braveheart (1995)
Will be my favorite for all my life!
All men Die but not all men really Live. I can not put into words justifying the emotions this film embodies to a soul level. Jesus Christ is Lord of all lords, that I may have the strength William Wallace through Christ had. Never bow the knee.
Die Hard (1988)
One of The Best of All Time
Very well written, multiple layers of the plot intertwined. It's the details of the plot that matter in this action movie. A Classic. I hope Hollywood will take notes on how to make a great plot for an action movie.
