Come Out Fighting (2022)
Absolute rubbish
Ive seen bad WWII films, but this one takes the cake.
Absolutely AWFUL, so bad in fact that all remaining copies should be binned.
Starting off with dreadful CGI graphics including a non-existant ME-262 over the Channel in mid 1944, to P-51's strafing CGI railroad trains...
The actual WWII vehicles used are nice to see, but the dreadful and corny acting, total lack of military discipline and paper thin plot lines make the vehicles and weapons superflous.
As if it wasn't bad enough, the sub plot was taken straight out of the classic KELLY'S HEROS with the tank platoon commander using several of Oddball's (Donald Sutherland) lines and the mailroom sergeant mimicking Sergeant Crapgame (Don Rickles)
Avoid seeing this film if you want to avoid putting your blood pressure through the roof seeing a WWII story utterly butchered by juvenile and childish writing, comical screenplays and dreadful acting. An absolute dog turd of a WWII film.... AVOID.
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Great concept ruined by hideous makeup
What an amazing film totally spoiled by the absolutely freakish makeup on Rami Malek. Whoever designed his makeup must've been incapable of doing photographic research, totally destroying the legacy of Freddie Mercury. Absolutely ridiculous looking teeth totally distracted from the film every time he smiled, sang or spoke.
Great cameo appearance by Mike Myers as the EMI executive. The music in the film is awesome, and the sound editing is superb. I have tried watching this several times and just cannot get past the makeup....
Hopefully someone will someday produce a better biopic, but if you're going to watch it I suggest watching it with the screen off so you can enjoy the music without seeing the freakish look that the makeup people did to Malek....
One Ranger (2023)
An outstanding film
In the days when Hollywood writes nothing but remakes worn out crap, it's nice to see something novel and fresh for a change. The characters come to life and have depth, Dean Jagger does an amazing job portraying a psychotic terrorist. Thomas Jane is gritty and convincing in his role as Ranger Tyree, and Dominique Tripper is very well suited in the role of a British intelligence agent.
The uniforms are worn correctly, the weapons mix is accurate and the plot is decent, meaty and substantial.
This film cries out for a sequel and Jesse leaves the door open at the end for another chapter.
I can't say enough good things about this film, enjoyable from start to finish.
