A Safari Romance (2023)
A Foreign Film Location Does not Overcome a Weak Storyline
Yet again Hallmark uses a foreign film location in an attempt to overcome a weak storyline. Andrew Walker and Brittnay Bristow are solid and have a great track record in past Hallmark movies. As actors, it is simply impossible to overcome a bad storyline or script. The accountabity for these issues are the of Hallmark Media's Executive Offices. In the last two years approximately 60% of their movie production has not been as good as the old Hallmark standards.
Sometimes doing things different does not mean they are better. Hallmark is now in the business of making Lifetime Movie Network gravity movies. There are already several networks that do that. Since Hallmark has left the family values / rom-com segment, they will be replaced by another network and become 'homeless'.
Joe Pickett (2021)
Joe's Hat still sucks!
I know screen writers always claim writing for film is different than for a book. It has something to do with creative freedom and mainstream film-maker thoughts regarding how series and films are written. But....there are some very simple things that are critical in representing a charactor such as Joe Pickett. For Joe Pickett they should have selected a real Western Style Hat & made his character as masculine as in the book.
So liberties taken by screen writers for this series are simply wrong!
Also there should be a minimum of fourteen episodes in a season if the script is based on two books...
The Rookie (2018)
Kill the Elisha / El Salvador storyline!
These second rate writers took a 3 episode storyline and stretched it to almost 2 seasons. This storyline was shallow, repittitive and trite. I am watching one more episode and if I hear the word Elisha, this program will be dead to me.
The nightmare was compounded by forcing us to watch a crossover to the FBI Rookie which is nothing more than a daytime soap opera. There is no solid storyline, character development is based on emotional tripe and the main actress Simone acts more like a high school counselor than an FBI agent.
The writers for both shows should be fired and banned from any productions in the future.
Marry Me in Yosemite (2022)
Another Cindy Busby painful effort
This is another Woke Hallmark movies with an actress that reads her lines off queue cards. Beautiful scenery, but this is not a storyline for a Hallmark movie. This is a lecture on how white people ripped off the Indians. Should be on the History or Discovery Channels.
Cindy Busby's performance is flat as usual. Monotone vice, no emotion and appears to read her script from queue cards.
The script really led nowhere. It wondered from office pressure to a hapless city Girl in the park, to a concocted relationship to a happy ending. It never draws the viewer in or immerses them into the depth of the story.
Hallmark executives have struck out again. There needs to be a change of direction in the Hallmark Media corporate offices.
A Second Chance at Love (2022)
Another Woke Hallmark failure
Gloria Rubin is a fine actress shaming herself by participating in this project. Poor storyline, dull script & actors that would feel perfectly comfortable in a Soap Opera job.
Hallmark has turned its back on decades of high quality family entertainment and now just grinds out trash to appease a tiny, but vocal, segment of the population.
Coyote Creek Christmas (2021)
Another Woke Hallmark Movie
The script is generally weak. What destroys this movie is the Woke storyline inserted into the script that provides no value to the core storyline, undermines Hallmark's historical values as well as American culture. Hallmark corporate needs to rethink the management of Hallmark Media.
Advice to Love By (2021)
Another Hallmark Media Flop
This movie is straight out of the high volume movie factory. No thought or creativity in the storyline. No personal on screen connection between actors. They simply recite memorized lines. This could be broadcast on Lifetime Movie Channel, CBS, or any broadcast channel simply by changing the title screens.
The core problem of Hallmark Media today is their senior leadership lacking leadership, a sense of Hallmark culture and a respect for American values.
South Beach Love (2021)
Another Hallmark Flop
I am not sure where to start...bad sound, poor story line, actors hard no 'heart'....hard to even pay attention to the movie.
I felt sorry for Taylor Cole, one of Hallmark's proven actresses being stuck in this horrible movie.
There have been so many Hallmark movie flops in the last 18 months I believe the only way to fix the problem is a wholesale cleanout of Hallmark Media's Executive Suite.
Raise a Glass to Love (2021)
Typical of most 2021 Hallmark Movies
I like Laura Osnes as an actress, but the is a sub-par Netflix movie that lacks heart; much less Hallmark heart. It feels like the actors are simply reading their lines & have no personal connection. The new Hallmark Media executives are not moving the business forward, but kill the brand...
Christmas by Starlight (2020)
One of the best Hallmark Movies of 2020
Novel storyline, great humor & entertaining. The entire cast is believable in their roles.
The Christmas House (2020)
Another Belly-Flop for Hallmark Movies in 2020
I was excited to see quality actors such as Treat William's & Sharon Lawrence in the cast, but yet again the story line seems to be written from a High School drama class. Overall the cast presented a less than believable effort.
Is Hallmark losing their magic touch?
A Christmas Tree Grows in Colorado (2020)
Yet another horrible Hallmark movie for 2020
The quality of Hallmark movies has been rapidly dropping. A Christmas Tree Grows in Colorado must have used a story line written by a bunch of middle schoolers & actors that simply read their lines like stick people.
My Best Friend's Bouquet (2020)
Quite Possibly the Worse Hallmark Movie Ever
The writing is horrible, the actors have no chemistry, the story is boring...there is nothing good to say about this story.
