I think the makers of this film forgot who the Star of Friday The 13th is. For a movie about a Psychopathic Killer in a Hockey Mask there sure was a lot of talking. I found myself very happy with this film the first half hour in but then it started! Bluh, Bluh, Bluh, 5 minutes of stalking and killing, rinse and repeat. I use the word 'stalking' loosely. It seemed as though when I started to feel a little suspense the person got killed quick and the scene was over. What happened to the creepy "Where is he?" feel and the theme music from some of the other flicks? I'm sorry but I didn't spend 10 bucks to see some horrible actors talking, partying and some kid drinking from a shoe. I couldn't wait for that little annoying goof to meet Ol' Jason. Don't get me wrong, there is some enjoyable scenes! They had some really cool, fresh ideas! Jason running is pretty bad ass and it would have scared the poop out of yours truly if they used it a little more. I don't know... I'm really not a little movie geek that likes to pick on flicks but it just seems like film makers don't know what scary is anymore. Its all about gore and surprise. I laughed at a lot of the kills because they were over so quick. I guess when you grow up watching a series and they remake it you expect things. I think the 17 year old kids that aren't fans of the originals will like this one a lot. It just seemed like a WB version of Friday The 13th to me. I was waiting for Buffy the Jason Slayer to come and kick some ass. But thankfully that didn't happen. Bottom line is, Its worth a watch. Not HORRIBLE but not great. Kinda fun. Kinda boring. For every step forward there were a couple of steps back. My Bloody Valinetine 3D was pretty much the same movie but cooler because of the 3D. We'll see what they can do in the Sequel! But I can guarantee that if it stays on this path they won't be able to make 10+ sequels like the good ol' days...

Geez, some people are rough on movies!! Awful? Think again. Great? No. Was it really meant to be? I don't think so. Its a Direct to DVD release. A Damn good one at that! If you hold it up to some horror classics, it will lose. Now put it next to some other Direct to DVD movies and it will win. It has everything you would want in a "fun" horror movie. Gore, Action, Hot naked ladies, and even some dumb jokes! What else do ya want? Sure the acting and Special FX could have been better but we can't win Every time. Does that really make it "awful"? Hell no. Give this film a little bigger budget and we have a winner. Maybe even better than the remake a couple of years ago. Fans of that one should definitely check this out. It has some back story that wasn't really touched on. So, think about it, its actually a sequel with a reason. More than you can say for a lot of Hollywood Blockbuster sequels... Am I right? Huh? Am I right? For all you haters, why would you watch it in the first place? Did you REALLY think it was going to be the next big thing? Chill out! Every movie doesn't have to be an Academy Award winner. Relax, Enjoy, and have fun...

17 million and this is the best you can do? Really?!? I guess its pretty easy to screw such a classic movie up. When I first saw that Rob Zombie was remaking "Halloween", I was SO excited. I am a big fan of his music and his last 2 films were really good, maybe even great. I will never forget some of the things I saw in them. Hell, I have a framed "Devil's Rejects" poster hanging up in my house. I could have only imagined the possibilities of what he could do with this! And this is what we got? Did he confuse Jason with Michael? In his interviews he said this wasn't going to be a remake but his own vision of it. Really?!? Maybe he should start blaming somebody else. It jumped back and forth from a remake to the "new vision" and I didn't really understand why. If he was going to keep some of the old stuff in it why take everything that made the original a classic out? I'm no film maker BUT, I KNOW I could have done better than this! If ya wanna see a better updated "vision" of a "Halloween" film, watch "H20". At least in that you feel like it is really Micheal Mayers behind the mask. This new guy seemed like nothing more than a copy cat! Maybe he would of done better with a new vision of "Friday The 13th". Say your sorry, Man! Or else I will (along with a few others on IMDb it looks like) think twice before going to see your Movies in the Theater. It doesn't take long for HBO to get movies these days...

I wanted to see this film when it was in theaters but I had my doubts. I always wait until after the opening weekend (due to rude people that think they can do the same things if they were at home) so before seeing it I decided to give Good Ol' IMDb a look and see what everybody was saying about it. And to my surprise, it got trashed...

After that I never got around to seeing it because if its that bad why should I sit through ANOTHER horrible film? I finally picked it up used on DVD pretty cheap because I was always curious...

Again to my surprise, People were wrong. This is a good flick! Not great. Corny? A bit. But what FAMILY flick isn't? I've seen A LOT worse (I'm sure you have also). That's just it, its a FAMILY film. Not "Your Precious" Lord Of The Rings. Not The Godfather. Just something *fun* the family can watch TOGETHER and enjoy. Imagine that?

28 Weeks Later Quick & Easy Review:

I'm not going to write a ten page review (Even though IMDb makes you) on all the reasons why you should see this film because nothing should spoil it for you.

Its not often that a Horror/Thriller movie has a Great story! If you enjoy Zombie Films, this is SO much more...

Very well acted and directed. About time an almost perfect Zombie flick was made! Watch it, you won't be sorry!!

By the way, 28 Months Later sounds like a great idea!

If this film isn't on the TOP 25 on IMDb and Lord Of The Rings is, there really is something wrong with you people...
