Moon Manor (2022)
Groundbreaking skillful filmaking
One of the most important films of our generation, Moon Manor tackles the incredibly sensitive subjects of assisted suicide, Alzheimer's and death with depth, insight and well-placed humor.
I was alternating between laughter, awe and tears for much of the film.
The scriptwriting hit the perfect tone, never preachy, breaking intense moments with irreverent humor and humanity.
Between the campy queens bringing the party vibe to the FUNeral, and the comedic yet tragic story of the estranged brother campaigning against his siblings choice to die outside in a Jesus Saves van, this film is littered with gems of heartfelt wisdom.
The cinematography was masterful, and the use of color, lighting and composition was delightfully creative.
I can't say enough good things about this project. It's ahead of it's time, and yet perfectly timed. The fact that it's based on the lead actors own life makes it even more relevant, as he faces his own mortality.
I can't wait to share this film with everyone I know.
