I Am Sam (2001)
For me, the direction killed it, with its never ending zooms and "shaking-camera"
The movie could have been great, but maybe with another director. The camera is moving, shaking and zooming almost the entire time throughout the movie. Especially in Michelle's Pfaiffer scenes, I do believe that the director was obsessed with her face (which is actually very beautiful here). Seriously, I couldn't pass past half of the movie, I thought that I will have a seizure. Even the angle of the camera was weird at times. The director maybe thought that he was interesting but failed miserably!!!
Also, the movie seems, like others have pointed out, to not care about logic and real-life. Sorry, the guy loves his daughter, but the "bad" guys are right, he won't be able to raise her properly. There are a lot of things to consider when raising a child, and a guy with a 7 year old intellectual capacity, just can't face the challenges. The movie seems to focus too much on the main's character love for his daughter and for his way of speaking, his ideas and reactions to the point when it is just becoming tiresome for the viewer (for me it was really exhausting and annoying, it was too much).
Sorry, I can't rate this higher than 4 stars. If it would have had another director and if it would have explored the main idea more properly, it would have been at least an 8 stars. But, nope, it's just boring, exhausting and completely unrealistic. The only good thing in this movie is Dakota Fanning, she plays her character very well and she is cute, sweet and smart as always.
In the end, I just fast-forwarded the movie, because I couldn't bare the stupid direction. Oh, and the music, awful and over the top!!!
The Transporter Refueled (2015)
The movie is actually good and tense, despite what everyone is saying, BUT the music is heard too much during the movie, which is awful!!!!
The movie has a good story for an action movie, but the soundtrack is making it unwatchable and unbearable. It's not even music, it's just a persistent bass sound at almost every dialogue, car chase or fight scene. Unbelievable how a stupid soundtrack can kill all the good mood from a movie. The guys in charge with the soundtrack will be better off working somewhere else. It's not a musical or an episode from Tom and Jerry, what the hell? Do they watch how the movie turned out to be? How could someone thinks, for the life of me, that it's a good idea for an annoying music to be heard in an entire movie?
Fatman (2020)
The idea is not bad, but there is no suspense
At first, I didn't want to watch it, because I've thought that that the movie is just a super bad fantasy. Well, it's nothing like this, the general idea is actually good, but there is ABSOLUTELY NO suspense throughout all the movie. Nothing actually happens, until near the end, where you see some shootings and that's it. Seriously, it looks like whoever wrote the script didn't even tried, at all. Why would you do something like this? And how can you call it a comedy? There is nothing funny, except with two small lines. Netflix, why are you producing only garbage, when you increase the user's fee, at the start of every year?
Hot Seat (2022)
Why so many bad reviews? What do people exactly expects from a movie nowadays?
This movie, despite being low budget or straight to DVD or whatever, is actually pretty tense and enjoyable with some popcorn or pizza and a drink. I wasn't bored at all, it was a good watch on a Thursday night from my week off. Just watch it, if you like to see a movie to relax.
Now, what is with movie viewers from this age? They think that every movie has to be smart? That a movie has to charm them, to raise their IQ-s? Did we actually forget to watch a movie for the sake of fun and chill? All of us have to comment about every damn thing like we are some kind of movie experts? Get over yourself, people!
Greenland (2020)
The story it could be overall tense and good, but the shaky camera made me to give up to watch the movie after 45 minutes!!!!
Maybe the story is nothing new, but it has a lot of tension and it almost makes you feel like you are in the same situation as the characters.
The problem is that the director chose to use shaky camera way too much!!!! And I mean really, really too much !!! It feels like it is recorded with a smartphone at times. It makes you feeling dizzy and like you are getting a big headache. The director deserve to be shot in the head for this choice. And whoever decided first to use this technique should be burned alive!!!
