Bros (2022)
Nice try? No, not really
The movie tried hard to be funny and in the process loses all the moments that should have been funny. Billy and Luke were simply not the right choices for leads in this movie. There is no chemistry between them. The representation of gay romance was written in such flawed manner that it makes not want more of this type of representation on the big screen EVER again. Luke's only strength is to be a good looking men and Billy's... well he just wrote a movie that was supposed to be funny and ended up not being that and then the lead (Billy) went to Twitter to call homophobia the reason for the lack of interest in the movie instead of going to his computer and start writing a better movie.
Heartstopper (2022)
It's cute and that's enough I guess
Cute series but all in all this has been done a dozen times and with the same result. It panders to the young gay community (DUH) and it's an ok series but don't get your hopes up if you think the rating of 9, that it currently has, means anything or is an indication that this series is revolutionary because then you will be disappointed.
Every episode is a cliché and it works for the series demographic.
The Batman (2022)
Good but can't top Christian Bale's version
It's a good film overall. The cast is good, acting is good, the plot was not good and in general is was on ok movie. The hype for it it might come from it being dark and moody but don't fool yourself by thinking this is great because the holy trinity of Batman movies was already created and starred by Christian Bale.
A través de mi ventana (2022)
Eye candy and that's it
The movie is as predictable as a 3 minute noodle soup. If you don't care about a good story this is your chance. The movie I will admit has a rather appealing soundtrack and of course the main attraction of the movie is the cheap sex scenes and the good looks of the cast.
Doraibu mai kâ (2021)
Profoundly boring
Profoundly superficial. I really wanted to like it so bad. It just was not up the expectations created by all the positive reviews. It's long and it feels long.
It's the kind of movie that allows you to feel the pain and numbness from sitting too long in one place. The pain is such that you stand up and walk out of the movie theater not feeling guilty because deep inside you, you know that the pain and numbness was not worth it.
Wolf (2021)
A total disappointment
The movie is empty. For such a complex topic the movie feels very superficial. We never learn anything about the characters; no beginnings an no endings just the middle which happens to be the movie but without any substance to it.
I was expecting to at least feel something from what I had read about the premise of the movie but I was sad that I finished the movie not feeling moved by it.
Such a waste of what could have been.
Licorice Pizza (2021)
Totally overrated
This movie is nothing like what you expect but not in a good way. The movie is disappointing and the subject matter is irrelevant because we learn nothing from it. It's not funny, is not interesting, simply said the movie is a colossal failure that is being praised god knows why.
House of Gucci (2021)
An extremely misunderstood movie
The movie is weirdly paced to say the least, yes, people don't know whether it's drama or comedy or both, the movie is everything and then some. Great acting all around but Gaga, Jared and Al are the stars of this weird yet amazing movie.
Many critics go crazy for movies that literally nobody remembers within a year and while this movie has suffered from lack of critics claim, mark my words: this movie will be remembered for a long long time and will be come a classic.
Nine Days (2020)
More than a movie it's a poem
This movie is not just a movie, is a poem that unfolds throughout the time runtime of the film. We get to sort of see how possibly "god" works and how the existence of one individual can still continue beyond this realm. It feels like a warm dream, that could turn into a nightmare at any moment but it never does. You just fall in love deeper and deeper with whatever is happening in this dimension. It never fully answers anything nor does it try to explain the questions that is "trying" to answer but the end result leaves you wanting more.
Spencer (2021)
Spencer = Boring
This movie might have beautiful photography and decent acting but oh boy it is a snooze fest. There is nothing about the movie that stays with you after you have left the movie theater. It's almost as if it was purposely made to be forgotten. Diana will be, for many years to come, a controversial figure who will draw attention but this movie won't even be remembered in a year. I won't spoil mucho of happens even though, literally, not much happens. It is a total disappointment and if it weren't for the decent acting and decent photography, the slow pace and the vain core of this film will definitely make you want to walk out of the theater. All the praise that is receiving seems nonsensical once you get to see how boring and lifeless this movie is.
