Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Dead Man's Party (1998)
Hey Everyone! Lets All Unfairly Pile on Buffy!!
Am I the only one who thought every single person in Buffy's inner circle were all incredibly selfish in this episode? They all made me sick, including Joyce! It should have been obvious to all of them (except Joyce, MAYBE!) she had to kill Angel since the earth wasn't destroyed. Couldn't they think beyond themselves for one second how traumatic that must have been for her???? Zander was especially horrid to Buffy. And Willow! Willow, of all people, should definitely have been more sympathetic to what Buffy went through in killing Angel! Whomever wrote this episode should be ashamed of themselves!
Marple: The Body in the Library (2004)
Why? Why? Why Mess With a Classic?!?!
OMG!! Lesbians yet again? Sheesh! Christie needs no PCing up! Her books included quite enough LG characters without cheap, opportunistic "retellers" ruining The Grand Dame of Mystery's books!!! On an artistic note, why was Geraldine McEwan's face make-up stark white? It made her eyes look bloodshot! And Joanna Lumley was HORRIBLE as Dolly Bantry. Joan Hickson was the Benchmark Miss Marple, as were her guest stars! Julia McKenzie wasn't bad, but this Marple is just AWFUL. I wish PBS would show the Hickson Miss Marple episodes. This was actually the very first one I saw. Its one of the best and got me totally hooked!!!

What A Mess!
OMG!!! WTH??? The pe o ole responsible for this convoluted mess of a movie should be ashamed of themselves! They've taken a very good story and turned it into garbage - with a token lesbian story thrown in! Agatha Christie was an enlightened woman for her time. She DID actually include different lifestyles, i.e., A Murder is Announced," so she needs no tokenism! Horrible garbage posing as a new take on an old story!
Caprice (1967)
Awful Editing!!
One area of film-making I've never really appreciated is the final edit. The editor is really the unsung hero of the movie - unsung because the work he / she does is so subtle, so thoughtful and well crafted that one doesn't notice it. HOWEVER, when its bad, its jarring. The editing of this movie makes it into a big mess. I read that Doris Day's evil, money stealing husband, Marty Melcher, signed her up without letting her say no! She does her best, though, to play her part as good as possible. But one performer, a good film does not make. And to make matters worse, Richard Harris is TERRIBLE. He seems bored and pompous throughout. Altogether a truly awful movie. Skip it if you're smart!!!
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008)
I Mostly LIKED This Movie!!!
Scenes I liked - any and all with Brenden Frasier, John Hannah, Michelle Yeoh, Jet Li, plus the evil general and his daughter, except if those scenes included Maria Bello or Luke Ford! Ford was pretty much a wooden cut-out, but Maria Bello was just plain awful. Her accent was so embarrassing! Couldn't they have found an actual ENGLISH actress??? Rachel Weiss and Brenden Frasier had AWESOME chemistry. Bello and Frasier? Zip. Zero. Zed. And you can really tell Stephen Sommers did not direct this movie. It didn't have the warmth or heart of the previous movies.
Romance at Reindeer Lodge (2017)
Nicky Whelan's Awful Hair
What was up with her hair?? Its just awful!! She never combs it, never smooths it and sometimes it looks just downright dirty!! For me, the ugly hair became a terrible distraction as I kept waiting (and hoping!!!) it would get fixed! Even her so-called hairdo behind her ears is just ok, but definitely a nice break from the yuck!!!
A League of Their Own (1992)
Cannot STAND Kit!!!
Does anyone else hate Kit as much as I do??? Her character is just awful. She's a whiney crybaby blaming all of her faults and failings on her older sister, Dottie, who consistently looked out for her! Yuck!!! That's why it only gets 8 stars from me!
