Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
The start of the end of the MCU
Wow. Forced myself to watch this after putting it off. I had heard it was over the top childish and campy and a sad attempt at humour vs a good movie. The reviews were right. The first 20 minutes wanted me to just shut it off to put myself out of my misery and I did. Both my wife and I just couldn't stomach the lack of story, the horrific "jokes" the bad cgi and terrible acting.
What a complete an utter pile of garbage. The funny thing is this was just the first of disaster after disaster. This, then Ms Marvel, the Marvels, madame Web. It's a quick downhill slide for Disney and the MCU. How far it has fallen from exciting engaging movies to crap I don't even want to watch for free. Good job Disney. You've ruined the MCU and killed it once and for all.
Camelot (2011)
Can't be saved.
Morgana /Eve Green was good as was Merlin. That said, the casting for Arthur was aweful. A thin, wimpy, brooding, pouting Arthur was annoying and did not fit the character. The fact that all the core story lines were flipped or rewritten ruined a lot of it. Excalibur. Lancelot and Arthur. Why does Hollywood need to change what was a good story to be "creative". Could have been a good show and series. Had some decent casting (except Arthur) but the mangling of the story line ruined what it could have been.
Thats about it but I have to write 90 more words apparently to post my review. Not sure why but here ya go.
Inglourious Basterds (2009)
Not that great
Just another terrentino film trying to be a western with over the top gratuitous violence to try and shock the audience. The story is basic and contrived. It's not that the acting is bad given the material - they do the best they have to work with but to call this a great or good film doesn't make a lot of sense. There is no special underlying message. Just a lot of violence for the sake of violence and to satisfy Quentin's strange fascination with blood and gore and thinking that makes him a great writer and director. If you like gore, then this is the movie for you. If you want a good story line you might as well pass.
The Mummy (2017)
Who wrote this story??
Wow. Started to watch this and thought, ok they basically took the original mummy story line, made it more modern with more action for Mr Cruise. Within 20 minutes all I could think is who wrote is garbage pile script / story line. So many plot holes. Such bad lines. Such bad acting. Such lack of logic at all. I guess I have to keep tying to meet my character quota so here goes. Don't watch this unless you are willing to give up a couple hours of your life to this mindless waste of money. Who approves these movies to get green lit? Do they think because cruise is in it, it can't lose. Well they lost that bet. Hard pass on this. You will thank me.
Cruella (2021)
Well done
Entertaining back story with great cast and well acted. I enjoyed the twist on the origin story. Really enjoyed this and wasn't expecting much.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Plot holes galore
Hollywood crap riddled with massive plot holes and garbage. Don't bring an ounce of brain and you might enjoy it.
No Country for Old Men (2007)
Great story and screenplay - amazing cast
What can I say. One of my favorites movies. Great cast. Great performances. Great story. Amazing screenplay. This is an example of great cinema.
Chad (2021)
The worst
How did this get green lit? This show is brutal and needs to go away ASAP. How out of touch is Hollywood that a group of people watched this and said "ya, great pilot, this has promise, let's do it!"????
Without Remorse (2021)
So disappointing
Another Hollywood woke movie with wooden acting and a fully predictable (and bad story) line that ignores the book completely. Characters that are boring and a skinny woman seal leader so that it can check the box. Smith's acting absolutely blows. What a waste of time. Even the Russian accents were like a SNL sketch.
The Serpent (2021)
Whining French canadians
Funny how many Quebecers come out of the wood work to cry about a role being played by someone who is not French Canadian. Who cares? Even the actual French can't understand the slang of the québécois. My French friends (from France) always tell me "they aren't French and don't speak French). Too funny.
The November Man (2014)
Good action spy thriller
Good story line with interesting plot twists. Excellent acting all around and nice action pace. Overall a very entertaining spy thriller.
Bridgerton (2020)
Mindless drivel and brutal acting
Like watching a high school play. No historical accuracy horrific acting. What a waste of time
