Vikings: Valhalla (2022)
If there's absolutely nothing else on tv...
If there's absolutely nothing else on tv, then this show is perfect for background while doing something mundane around the house like folding laundry or doing dishes. It is not the absolute worst show I have ever watched but honestly I don't even remember any of the characters names or really care, TBH. It is bad but I watched it till the end hoping there would be a payoff for sticking through it or that it would pick up at some point & not so much.
If you love awesome Viking shows with interesting characters and a captivating story, then just a heads up, you're going to be disappointed with this one, if you haven't already seen the EXTREMELY underrated
The Last Kingdom, then watch that instead. It is a great watch from start to finish. The "creative team" behind this generic spin off should of been taking notes on TLK while writing this show, instead it seems they wrote it while sitting on the toilet because it stinks that bad!
The original Vikings was good for the first season but the show degraded when Ragnor married his irritating 2nd wife and when their awful maniac sons grew up (whatever season that was) it was hard to sit through.
No Time to Die (2021)
Ready for a new James Bond
Never been a fan of Daniel Craig as Bond. He just doesn't have that Bond suave charm. I have watched most of the Daniel Craig Bond movies but always thought they were just ok, nothing great - mostly because Daniel Craig just never really pulled it off. He far outstayed his time as Bond IMO. I watched the Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan Bond movies and o finally got why the Bond movies are such a big deal and why they've made Bond movies for decades. But since my generation only knows Daniel Craig as Bond I am so glad to have this be his last time as Bond. Just hope they nail the casting on his replacement. This latest one was what it was but also so long and not that great so it felt even longer.
Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021)
Thanks for the laughs man
Dave is a comedy legend! This was moving, funny and the ending message was about empathy. Dave was spot on with so many of the points he made after his jokes. Watch from start to finish and pay attention to everything he says because most of it ties into points he makes throughout the show. One of his jokes is about how him constantly blamed for 'punching down" on trans came about. The entire thing was made up by a reporter who hadn't even watched his show but wrote an article misquoting every joke he said and all taken out of context to sensationalize the story.
Flash forward years later...same same.
Ironic how the wokescolds proved pretty much every point Dave made in the show by doing what they never fail to do.
I read a couple articles before watching the show....it was NOTHING like what any of his critics were going on about.
Honestly, it's funny but also moving and an outrageous joke or two thrown in. Exactly what Comedy should be. And he does not discriminate on what group he roasts, he tackles them all......
which basically makes Dave Chappelle the leader of the equal rights movement and of course the face of feminism.
FBI: International (2021)
Much better than FBI MOST WANTED
Surprisingly much better than I thought it would be. The lead actor did a great job, unlike most of the cast on FBI Most Wanted he didn't overact, he's very expressive with his eyes. I liked the dynamic of OA and his hot head personality with the leader of the task force's cooler head. OA with the international team, I kinda wish he'd join the show. I lived on Europe and although it wasn't perfect, I wasn't expecting it to be but it was great to see a FBI show in an international setting. Great first episode, pilots are usually not that great and shows need to find their footing, I thought it was good and will continue to watch this along with the OG FBI. Unless they bring in better replacement actors for FBI most wanted, I'll continue to skip that show.
SurrealEstate (2021)
Nothing else like it.
Love LOVE this show!! Coming off the series end of two of my favorite shows; Wynonna Earp & Schitt's Creek, I came for Tim Ronson & Sarah Levy. I stayed because the show is brilliant! Every Friday night I watch this show! For the love of good entertainment and all things holy, please renew this show for more seasons. But also, we need more than 10 episodes per season!! 10 episodes is not enough! Ahem, 22....
Dive Club (2021)
So stupid.
Acting is beyond bad. The writing is terrible. The show is just plain stupid.
Mystery 101: Deadly History (2021)
The Best & least predictable of all Hallmark Movies
I enjoy this Series of Movies. The two leads are hot and have crazy chemistry. This lasted movie was good, it wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't predictable and it entertained. The best and worst part of the movie all occur in the last 5 minutes. Finally they reveal their feelings then 2 seconds later they flash forward 11 months and it's like...WTF? Really? Less of a cliffhanger wanting me to watch the next movie and more of an aggressive eye roll situation.
Nine Perfect Strangers (2021)
Better than White Lotus
I just watched (suffered) through all 6 episodes of White Lotus and I really don't get the comparison of the two shows. This is a good show with an intriguing mystery and interesting and not boring characters who are complicated but like-able. I'm glad that this show is nothing like White Lotus and I can't understand why WL reviews are glowing while 9PS have bad critic reviews when it entertains and draws you in, unlike WL.
The Resident (2018)
Wow. I just love this show.
Being stuck at home with no new shows to watch last year, I watched a lot of bad tv shows. I have been eagerly waiting for new episodes to be released and more so, The Resident as from the very first episode, it has been my top show. They released the first two episodes of season 4 and after 10 months of watching all sorts good and terrible tv, and this show came back better than ever. The casting in this show couldn't be better. I love Amanda and Matt after being a fan of Revenge and Gilmore Girls and the two of them together is just magic. The rest of the cast I am now fans of as well. Unlikeable qualities such as arrogance and ego, and yet you still love these characters. The Resident stands apart from all other medical dramas because it combines character driven stories with juicy hospital corruption and real life stories; written by real life doctors, and tells it in a way that isn't overshadowed by a cheesy narrator contemplating life in every episode; nor is there a revolving door of main cast members you somehow have to care about. The main cast has been the same as season one and they are so good together, I hope it stays that way throughout; in what I am hoping is a very long series run that rivals Fox's "Bones."
