Aterrados (2017)
Fun Twist on the Paranormal
I really enjoyed this film. It was suspenseful and creepy. Don't avoid it because of the subtitles. I read there may be a sequel. Hope so.
The Walking Dead: Diverged (2021)
Dull and Unnecessary
This episode is not deep, or profound, or emotional, or - most importantly, necessary. We did not learn anything tonight about Carol or Daryl (primarily Carol) that we did not already know. Carol has been an emotional, unstable, and unreliable wreck for several seasons. So tired of her inner struggle over whether she should leave the group for good. Yes - she should. Everything Daryl said to her a few episodes ago is dead on accurate. She has made alot of bad decisions and caused alot of pain over the past few seasons. Her character has gotten stale and uninteresting. She has been in a pathetic rut for soooooo long, seeing an entire episode of it was painful.
The Walking Dead: Splinter (2021)
Trudging along, barely.
There is nothing happening in this second part of the season. The past 3 episodes have had limited characters in each episode (limited to Daryl and Carol and a new person Leah that may never be seen again; next episode, limited to Gabriel and Aaron; and this episode limited to the small group searching for Stephanie). And basically nothing has happened to move the narrative forward in these 3 episodes. The small group searching for Stephanie is in exactly the same place/predicament they were in 4 episodes ago. Its groundhog day and it stinks. And this level of "character development" this late in a series (10+ years old) is ridiculous and unnecessary. In the face of this, seeing the unbridled enthusiasm found on the Talking Dead "after show" (from being able to stand just the first few minutes of it) is inexplicable.
Blue Bloods: Redemption (2021)
PC Nonsense
So we are supposed to believe that a street detective relegated to a wheelchair remains capable of effectively performing as a street detective? Seriously? And we are suppose to believe that this detective in a wheelchair with a baton won a battle with a non-handicapped perp with a gun? Why not? And the cherry on the fairy tale is that NYC has the finances to pay for a third detective to babysit her. Well done!
Call Your Mother (2021)
Just Bad
Brutal. Not funny. Lousy premise featuring an irritating lead. None of the characters are funny or worth caring about. Probably the worst pilot of a "sitcom" I have ever seen.
Black·ish (2014)
Lecturing not helpful or funny
No thanks. I prefer my sitcoms without a side of righteous indignation and lecturing.
