The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017)
Why such bad reviews?
I really enjoyed this movie. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I thought the acting was spot on, and who doesn't like looking at the lovely Nicole Kidman? Watch it. You won't be disappointed.
Delivery (2013)
What a trip
This one took me by surprise. I was engrossed the whole way through. And that ending!!! Don't listen to the nay sayers. This was scary in its relatability.
The Electrical Life of Louis Wain (2021)
Best movie ever
This film made me laugh
Made me cry. I loved everything about this movie. I really only watch horror flicks, but I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. Watch it! That's all I can say.
Turbines (2019)
Why all the bad reviews??
There's nothing wrong with this movie. It's more of a psychological horror. No real gore. It's watching a man slip into mental illness. The acting was fine, the script was fine. If you're looking for jump scares, this isn't it. But give it a try! I did.
Busanhaeng (2016)
Are you freakin kidding me???
This movie was one step above watching paint dry, which is only one step above watching grass grow, hence 3 stars.
It was like a movie written by a bunch of third graders from the California school system.
Really boring and silly. I'll never regain the time I wasted on this drivel.
Black Rock (2012)
Girl Power!
I can't understand why this got such low scores. I thought it was great. I don't care if it's a "cliche" or an unoriginal premise. Those girls rocked and the end scene made me cheer!
Afflicted (2013)
Great movie if you're into puke
I couldn't even finish this lame attempt of a movie. All Derek does is throw up. In restaurants, at wineries, at hotels. Nothing scary about puke. Save yourself 90 minutes of your life and pass this one by.
The Basement (2018)
Am I the only one who liked this movie?
Yes, the first part of the film is awful (I nodded off a few times). I finished watching it tonight, and I really liked it. Great creep factor, just enough gore and pain and a scary, horrible killer. Give it a try.
Quarantine (2008)
Wow! Why does everyone hate this movie?
I can't believe the reviews. I totally LOVED this movie. I thought it was sooo scary. Horror films are my favorite, and this one is in the top ten for me. It really scared me, especially the end. It creeped me out so much, that I had to go outside and walk around in the dark desert night to continue the heebie jeebie feeling. Even after watching it again, I was still scared. This time I was house-sitting, so after the end, I walked around this big, dark house, going down the hallway expecting something to jump out of one of the dark rooms. I guess it is just the willing suspension of disbelief. I can't think of one bad thing to say about this film.
So, all I can say is give it a try. Everyone hates it, I love it.
Necronomicon (1993)
Awful, truly dreadful
I am a major horror film buff, but this was one of the worst films I have ever seen. Typical of "Special Effects" movie, the story line suffered (or should I say, "What story line????") The gore wasn't even cool gore, just lame! I had to shut it off, and come back to it later. That was the longest 96 minutes of my life. Three story in one movie, but you never really knew when one ended and another began. I actually didn't realize that it was 3 separate stories until I read it here. Lucky for me, I purchased this at the local swapmeet for $1.00, which was actually overpriced by 99 cents. Don't bother with this film, unless you need something to put you to sleep.
