Tokyo Vice: Old Law, New Twist (2024)
Can we get back to the main plot...
Instead of slowing down with character side plots. I'm not interested of Samanthas struggle sessions over her night club with the Yakuza. Or Satos little brother who wants to walk the same path. Also we need to see that Katagiri has become less important by his colleagues and also kinda clumsy. Sooo all this insecurity over being threatened by Tozawa? And now of course we need more background for the editor Eimi. All of this is just meaningless fillings, just to slow down the show for seasons.
By the way wasn't it impressive when Samantha confronted Ishida to back off her business? That felt very very weird and also unrealistic. So let me see here, a foreigner ( also a young woman) borrows money from the Yakuza. As they explained in the series, they will be her partners and take big cuts of her profit which usually means as long as she keeps earning. And now she says enough and bargain with the Yakuza boss, and now she only need to pay for two months. Um yeah, I don't think it works like that.
Shameless (2011)
Overall a good show
For a remake of the BCC version I have enjoyed the Gallaghers misfortune and crazy scenarios. A show that really was unfiltered and stuck out. Amusing and dramatic, the hardship of family. Well the series kept it good up till season 8, when the social politics intervened and turned the show to a moral sitcom project.
Turning the structure of this show, from anarchy to overhelming moral political correctness doesn't fit. Because it gets confusing when a show suddenly tries to convince you with awareness chapters.
Well cheers for 11 seasons, but should have ended with season 9 that had a good ending.
