The Forgotten (2004)
A Movie Best To Be Forgotten
If you like Sci-Fi or Alien type stuff, you'll probably like this movie. I much prefer reality and drama to this kind of nonsense. Julianne Moore obviously had a son who supposedly died in a plane crash and she can't forget him. But people in the movie try to tell her she never had a son, that she is delusional. From that point on there is lots and lots of chasing and you never really know WHY or WHO it is that is doing all of this.
There is NO comparison to this movie and "The Sixth Sense." I saw "The Sixth Sense" in a theater and was paranoid even of the people watching the movie. I rated it as among the Top Five the year it was out.
This movie, "The Forgotten" will soon be washed away from my memory because it was not worth watching. And ... may I add, it was so far fetched, that I don't even know if the ending was real or not. Now what happens if I come back here and find my review missing? LOL!
A Time to Kill (1996)
Twists And Turns Aplenty!
I put off watching this film until just recently (2003). The reason is that a Grisham novel is difficult to make into a film. If you read "The Firm" and then saw the movie afterwards, you were probably as disappointed as I was.
I am also not particularly fond of Sandra Bullock as an actress. Demi Moore would have made a better choice and kept her from making some other lousy movie in 1996. Bullock always seems to remind me that I'm watching a movie and I prefer to get engrossed in a film so I forget that.
Other than that, there is a great cast here, most notably Matthew McConaughey who is excellent in this film. However, there are too many twists and turns to the story that make my eyes start rolling, if you know what I mean. It's just not believable.
As Good as Dead (1995)
Very Strange Story Indeed!
I agree with the user above who wrote the summary of this movie. The only reason I watched this was because I found both Crystal Bernard and Traci Lords very attractive. After Traci Lords died in the movie, the only reason I kept watching it was because Crystal Bernard had to dress up in all of Traci Lords mini dresses and she looked very sexy.
Other than that, this movie takes too many twists and turns to be believable. Judge Reinhold plays what appears to be a silly character that turns out to be sinister. All I can say is that if you've got a few hours to kill, you might get a laugh out of this farce.
