Child's Play (2019)
Not quite good, to be honest..
I don't know about this one, in some areas the movie is pretty good, in others however, it's very stupid and frustrating so i'll start with the positives and work my way down to the negatives.
Good: 1. The pacing i think, is actually very good. The movie never gets boring, it never really drags so that's a huge plus in my eyes. 2. There are some relateable moments you get with Andy, a type of situation you've probably found yourself in before. Of course not nearly as serious things are here but you can sympathise with him to some degree. 3. There are a few genuinely disturbing and unsettling scenes in here. For my final positive, the kills in here are all great and satisfying.
Mixed: Chucky. As i said, there are some disturbing scenes in this movie and i think the doll can be quite creepy at times. However, Chucky just looks stupid, in a few shots under shadows he can look okay, but for most of the time, Chucky just looks weird, and not in the good way. After a while i did get used to it, but still.
Bad: 1. The characters are not exactly great, Mike and Doreen are good but sometimes feel out of place, theres some creep in his basement who somehow has cameras all over people's apartments and enjoy watching them get naked and stuff like that, i don't know what the hell the writers were drinking when they decided to implement him into the script. Andy's friends weren't very genuine or beliveable characters in my opinion. But the biggest thing wrong with this movie, or maybe the most frustrating was Andy. I don't think Andy was all bad but he was extremely unrealistic sometimes. When he got the doll, Chucky, there were so many signs that something was wrong with it. Chucky chokes the living hell out of the cat, Andy just tells Chucky No No and that's it, i bet all people would have already dumped the damn doll by now, but Andy still keeps it. While Andy was asleep, Chucky literally f%&king murders the cat but Andy stills keeps the dangerous doll after that. It's not before Chucky murders his mom's boyfriend that he decides to do something about it. If there is one more bad thing i'd say about it, that would be the lighting. I get trying to make your movie look good and polished but not every shot has to look so deep and atmospheric, just make it look like a normal damn apartment sometimes, ya know.
Overall, not a terrible movie. There are some things to like about it, and some things to well, not like about it. Some of the bad just outweighed the good for me. I'd say there is some decent humour in here, but things can get a little bit too goofy sometimes.

Halloween (1978)
Am i missing something here?
Halloween is meh. I don't even know what to say about it. It's a very simple slasher movie, and that's about it. If we start with the good and then get to the bad.
Good: Laurie Strode is a believable and realistic enough character, she could very well just be your neighbor next door, the movie has a nice atmosphere and is actually quite disturbing at times.
Mixed: The score. I think the main theme for this movie is very iconic. There is nothing bad about it, but it just felt like the movie only had like 2 tracks. So the soundtrack while still really good and iconic, gets repetitive because lack of variety.
Bad: First, Michael Myers. Michael myers is one of the most iconic slasher villains out there, sure. But in this original movie, there isn't that much to him at all. Michael is a mental patient, who has escaped, and he is now causing murders everywhere in haddonfield but why? The only real explanation that they give you is that Michael Myers is evil, that's it. Michael appearently has no motivation for any of this, he is just pure evil.
All that Myers does is stalk a bunch of random people and kills them. Pamela, Jason Voorhees, and Freddy Krueger in their original films i feel are much better than Myers here because they have at least one reason, at least one goal in their mind, they have motivation. Michael Myers lacks that motivation, making him kinda lame in my opinion. Second, all the other characters are not developed at all, Loomis doesn't do much, Laurie's friends whom i can't even remember their names are boring and horny, that's all they have going for them. Third, the movie is very dated. You can really tell how low-budget the movie was, when someone screams it sounds like they're having an orgasm. Loomis and some sheriff look down at a dead animal we never get to see for ourselves. And everything else about this movie just screams low-budget.
Overall, Halloween is only slightly good at best, but in my opinion the movie was okay, not good, not bad. It was just ok. It was not boring, there are still some good things about it, the bad just sort of outweighed the good for me and i wanted to love this movie like everybody else but unfortunately that just wasn't the case for me.
Favorite characters: Laurie Strode and Dr. Loomis.
Favorite scene: When Michael at age 6, murders his sister in the opening scene.
Favorite kill: Bob stabbed with Michael's kitchen knife.
(Story: 5/10)

Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI (1986)
Not anywhere near the best of the series.
People make this out to be the best or at least the second best entry of this franchise and i seriously don't get any of it. There is nothing outstanding about this movie at all. It's an ok movie at best.
I'll start with the good: The opening scene and it's execution, while kinda stupid, it is very well done actually. It's funny, entertaining, brutal, and suspenseful with good music. But after such a promising opening, we start running into some glaring problems that completely destroy the enjoyment factor.
The main characters in this are not great at all. We get Tommy Jarvis, he doesn't get any character development, We get Megan, a braindead spoiled little girl who is attracted to potential serial killers, we get some sheriff and his partner, while much smarter than Megan, still somehow manage to get messed over pretty good by her. Alright, so um.. this is the movie that people love?
Oh well.. the rest of this movie isn't that much interesting, it's really just an "ok" movie for the most part. If there is one more thing i can say about Jason Lives, then i'll say that it's probably the most watered down Friday the 13th movie in the franchise, the nudity is watered down, the kills are watered down, the characters are watered down, even visually this movie is watered down.
Favorite characters: no one
Favorite scene: The opening scene.
Favorite kill: Sissy's head twisted off by Jason Voorhees
(Story: 6/10)
(Characters: 3/10)
(Entertainment: 5/10)
(Acting: 5/10)
(Soundtrack: 7/10)
Conclusion: Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives is just an ok movie at best, it's not terrible, it's an ok watch. The scene in the RV is fun, the paintball scene is fun, the ending is fun. But the movie still really suffers from stupid and unlikeable leads, and just being very watered down for a Friday the 13th movie.
My final rating: 5/10.
Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984)
It's good, but i would remove the teenagers.
Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter: Jason, who is now wounded after the events of Friday the 13th Part 3 but still conscious, is taken to the morgue. There, Jason wakes up after a long nap, he escapes the morgue after he kills two people, and walks on his way back to Camp Crystal Lake. Nearby, lives a family, and a group of teens who has just moved into their new home. Jason, being the man that he is, takes the best course of action and starts killing all of them one by one. Tommy and Trish Jarvis, Played by Corey Feldman and Kimberly Beck, who just so happens to be the last ones standing discover dead bodies and must kill Jason Voorhees to save their lives.
Bad: The movie feels kinda split into two. While there is The Jarvis Family where the majority of time spent with them is spent progressing the plot, there is the group of teenagers where the majority of the time spent with them is spent developing the characters which is of course a huge plus. However, they add almost nothing to the plot and because of that, they really just come off as a distraction from everything else that is happening. There is also another small plot about Rob played by Erich Anderson, hunting down Jason Voorhees as revenge against him for murdering his sister, unlike the teenagers, him and the Jarvis family actually have an impact on the story.
Mixed: Jason Voorhees. On the plus side, Ted white portrays him as a very strong and fast killer. However, the movie tries to hide Jason under shadows, keeping him away from us viewers to i don't know, add mystery? But the effect doesn't work for those who have already watched Part 2 and 3. Because Part 2 and Part 3 have shown us Jason's strengths, weaknesses, where he likes to be and what he likes to do. We have even seen Jason's face about 4 to 5 times, eliminating any mystery. So Part 4's attempt to make Jason Voorhees scarier by keeping him away from the screen is 100% pointless this late into the franchise because by now, people who come to see Friday the 13th are obviously gonna want to see Jason.
Good: The movie is probably one of the most entertaining and rewatchable Friday the 13th movies despite it's shortcomings. The Jarvises are well written and entertaining. Trish Jarvis is a pretty decent final girl. Tom Savini's gore effects return for the second and final time in the Friday the 13th franchise, and they're as good as before!
Favorite characters: Rob, Trish, and Tommy Jarvis.
Favorite scene: When Axel watches a twerking video and gets his head is sawed off by Jason Voorhees.
Favorite kill: Axel's death.
(Story: 3.5/10)
(Characters: 7.5/10)
(Entertainment: 7/10)
(Acting: 6/10)
(Soundtrack: 7.5/10)
Conclusion: Even if i don't exactly love this movie. Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter is very good by slasher standards. While the movie is flawed, it still has everything you could possibly want in a slasher movie. Good kills, likeable characters, brutal killer, a runtime that doesn't drag for too long, and a very hot final girl. (Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter gets a final score of 6.5/10)
Friday the 13th Part III (1982)
Not a great movie, but a very iconic one.
Chris and her friends go to Higgins Haven, a place very close to Camp Crystal Lake, to spend the weekend, However, Jason, who has survived his injury from the last film, Goes to Higgins Haven and off's them one by one. Chris and her ex-husband "Rick"
just so happened not to be there at the time of the murders. As Rick is killed by Jason, Chris discovers blood and dead bodies and must fight for her life.
Bad: The dialogue, seriously man, these characters sound like Grand Theft Auto 5 NPC's and somehow manages to sound even worse than that. The fight scenes are repetitive in my opinion. Jason chases Chris, she gets Jason, Jason chases Chris, she gets Jason, Jason chases Chris, she gets Jason, again and again and again.
Mixed: The 3D shots, The 3D shots can be annoying sometimes but there is some charm in them and does allow for some awesome shots, For example, Andy split in half in 3D, Vera shot by a spear in3D and maybe the cool shot of Fox impaled with a pitchfork, in 3D!
Good: The nostalgia i have for this movie, i remember secretly watching clips of Friday the 13th at age 7? Maybe.. When i wasn't allowed to. Jason's new look with the iconic hockey mask. More self-awareness in Part 3. I love the soundtrack! The movie just has a really fun vibe that really makes it stand out from the other movies. And even if i said the Final act got a bit repetitive, I still think it's pretty entertaining and Chris is a decent final girl.
Overall Friday the 13th Part III is good entertainment, just don't expect award winning performances.
Favorite characters: Chris, Shelly and the Bikers
Favorite scene: The final fight between Chris and Jason in the barn.
Favorite kill: Andy split in two by a machete.
(Story: 5/10)
(Characters: 6/10)

(Friday the 13th Part 3 gets a final score of 7/10.
Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985)
One of the Weaker Entries in the Franchise, But..
I'll start off by saying that Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, cinematically, is a bad movie, but that doesn't matter. Friday the 13th movies have never been good in that category, Friday the 13th however, does shine in another category, and that category being slasher flicks. So in that light, Friday the 13th: A New Beginning is pretty good despite being hated by fans because of a very understandable reason.
Review:
Bad: Roy. Aka, fake Jason Voorhees: Roy (the killer) isn't bad because he is not Jason Voorhees, Roy is bad because he is supposed to be the main antagonist of this movie, the decision to make a very uninteresting character with very little screen time the killer is pretty lazy. Of course, the movie did hint at him being the killer, but when a character like that is so small and forgettable, the only hint at him being the killer in the entire movie, you kinda just forget about. When you don't even recognize his face after he is revealed to be the killer, yeah maybe there could be a problem with that. They were so lazy with the character Roy, that the movie literally just tells you who Roy was near the end of the movie instead of spending more time with him so that the viewers will eventually recognize his face after his reveal. Also the gore effects can sometimes look kinda bad even tho we don't see that much of it because the MPAA cut it.
Mixed: The whodunnit aspect, Tommy Jarvis:
Like i said, Roy was pretty uninteresting. But there was another potential killer alongside Roy, Tommy Jarvis. Tommy Jarvis was interesting in this one. I thought he was played very well by his actor, and he is a beliveable character, maybe there was room for some charisma but eh.. whatever. I just wished we saw more of Tommy as he kind of just disappears at halfway into the movie.
Good: The rest of the characters, Reggie the Reckless, Pam, the Sheriff, Demon, Anita, Ethel, Junior and every other little small character, i enjoyed every single one of them when they were on screen, even if they have zero to do with the plot. Appearently the actors who portrayed the characters improvised most of their lines and you can tell. Obviously, the characters in this are one of the best parts of the film.
The soundtrack fits the mood of Friday the 13th: A New Beginning as well.
Favorite characters: Reggie, Demon, Ethel and Junior.
Favorite scene: When Ethel spits into Junior's Stew that she is making for him, while he is is riding his motorbike yelling and screaming like a little 6 year old kid as a fully grown adult right before his death.
Favorite kill: Eddie's head crushed by a tightened leather belt.

Bird Box (2018)
It's a good but flawed movie.
People seem to mostly critisize the movie for the lack of answers at the end of the movie.. But it does make room for sequels, and i really hope there will be one. Because the movie felt very empty at the end. But it does keep the creatures terrifying without any answers. The more you know about it the less scarier it becomes.
To the review:
It is a good movie but it suffers from cliches and lack of character development. I mean the only people you care about are Malorie and Tom, and of course Douglas because he was the only one with a functioning brain at the moment. He knew that if the others kept letting people in, eventually they would open a door to one of the crazy people. And the second time they let somebody in it was already a crazy one, Douglas tried to get him out of the house. But the others let him be there and the next thing that happend was that 3 more people died. He was probably my favorite side character. The movie was very suspenseful and i was always left with an uncomfortable feeling troughout the movie. I really didn't mind the 2 seperate timelines and to be honest i kinda liked it. I liked the fact that they showed 2 seperate stories. The movie was very entertaining and i was always curious about what would happen next and i was for the most time at the edge of my seat, and i loved the concept of needing something to cover your eyes if you needed to go outside to keep you from killing yourself and the concept of people killing themself the fastest way possible if they look was pretty disturbing. The movie was mosty very well made and kept me entertained all the time. 7/10.
