Meeting the Beatles in India (2020)
What a SNOOZE - and NOT about the Beatles but SALZMAN
This was akin to watching Paul Saltzman's home movies or photo collection to give him an excuse to talk about himself, mostly not even regarding the Beatles - this is Saltzman's narcissistic ride back to India, with few if any insights about the Beatles. I certaintly didn't learn anything new. Patty and Jenny, God Bless them, didn't have any new insights I hadn't heard before. And the little video footage there was was warmed over short clips I'd seen before years ago.
Seeing this on Amazon Prime - thank Goodness not having to PAY to see this drivel - I kept pushing forward, looking at the video footage as I did so, trying to find the little I could that actually pertained to the Beatles.
Saltzman - for having met THE rock Gods of all time - had nothing insightful to say about his one-on-one chats. "they were nice people" was all he could muster - in various incantations.
AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS!!!
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Billy the Kid (2022)
TRASH FROM THE FIRST SECOND!!!
This is a shameful piece of trash - lies and falsehoods from the get-go. I couldn't watch this beyond the first scene - EVERYTHING ABOUT WHICH WAS FALSE, except a few words of the dialog, which were said out of context, twisting the truth.
THE FIRST WORDS ON THE SCREEN WERE UNTRUE: "EL PASO, TEXAS, 1877."
The scene - with the Kid killing bounty hunter Joe Grant - took place in 1880, in Fort Sumner, New Mexico.
That's for starters.
Then they have a mean-spirited actor come in to an empty bar gunning for Joe Grant, knowing he was there.
THIS IS TOTALLY FALSE.
The Kid was a jolly, funny, affable guy - number one. Number two - the truth is Joe Grant came into a bar in Fort Sumner gunning for the Kid. He made such noise that the Kid had to confront him, knowing Grant had come to kill him. The Kid did not provoke this event. The bar wasn't empty, either - it was FULL of people, witnesses.
Then, they have the Kid ask to see Grant's gun. This is true.
But then they have him remove bullets from the chambers, WHICH THE KID NEVER DID. The Kid, in truth, simply twirled the chambers until the revolver was set to fire on an empty chamber. There are conflicting accounts why there was an empty chamber and some claim there were three. Back then many gunfighters left one of the chambers empty, since there were no safety mechanisms on revolvers of the day; this was to make sure the gun didn't go off accidentally, to harm someone.
Then they have Grant fire TWO TIMES, BOTH TIMES JUST CLICKING HIS GUN INEFFECTIVELY BECAUSE THE KID HAD REMOVED THE BULLETS.
But this is not true. AGAIN - THE KID DID NOT REMOVE ANY BULLETS. PLUS - GRANT ONLY TRIED TO FIRE ONCE. THE KID KILLED HIM INSTANTLY AFTER THAT. THE KID JUST WANTED TO SHOW IT WAS A CASE OF SELF-DEFENSE.
In this stupid poorly-researched, lying, false account, they make the Kid out to be a criminal, a mean-spirited, fight-hungry, trigger-happy madman. THIS IS DEFAMATORY AND A SHAMEFUL DISSERVICE TO VIEWERS WHO WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH, AND TO THE KID WHO WAS ONE OF THE NICEST GUYS AND IN TRUTH THE MOST POPULAR MAN IN NEW MEXICO IN THE DAY.
