Maidaan (2024)
Maidaan: A Salute to Effort
Standing Ovation for:
1. Boney Kapoor's Production : A round of applause for Boney Kapoor's dedication to bringing this story to life. The production values are top-notch, creating a realistic and immersive world for Maidaan.
2. Compelling Story : The film masterfully blends the key ingredients of a great biopic: politics, policy, and raw emotion.
3. Thrilling Matches & Crisp Direction : The football matches are a sight to behold, directed with sharp focus and complemented by clean cinematography.
4. Spot-On Casting : The casting is phenomenal. The actors disappear into their roles, making you believe they're seasoned footballers on the pitch.
Room for Improvement:
1. While the story is captivating, a tighter edit could shave off 20 minutes, bringing the runtime to a more manageable 2 hours and 40 minutes.
2. Emotional Connection : The film effectively builds a connection with the characters, but it could have packed a stronger emotional punch to leave audiences with goosebumps.
3. A. R. Rahman's Score : A. R. Rahman's classic score is undeniably good, but its placement could have been more impactful in elevating the intensity of the film.
4. Dialogue Delivery : The dialogues, while present, could have been more impactful and memorable for a biopic.
5. Ajay Devgn's Performance : Ajay Devgn's portrayal, while commendable, could have benefitted from added depth and expressiveness to fully flesh out the character.
Shaitaan (2024)
A SAVORLESS REMAKE
Keeping it's Original Movie,Teaser,Trailer Ajay Devgan's Mastermind and Maniac Madhavan in my mind I was damn hyped for Shaitaan.
BUT :
1. I went in with lot of expectations but all was ruined because of its boring screenplay and bland music.
2. The movie which had lot of potential turned out be just average when compared to original.
3. When you remake a film you try to increase its bar and all other aspects , but looked like they were just tired to increase the bar.
4. I thought Amit Trivedi will never go wrong but this time he sadly went
All the other movies of him had music as it's soul
But here he used a repititiveness in the music.
5. Music plays a big hand in thrillers to create a tense moment and camera moments too But both were under utilised.
6. If you see the cast of the movie they are great actors but here they used their acting to a limited extent.
7. Vikas Bahl is such an oscillating director, I can never believe that he directed the classic super 30 and then gave all craps at the same time.
Overall i can only say a potential horror thriller wasted.
Gaami (2024)
A Debutant's Classic
Gaami is a man's journey to seek how it feels to get the physical touch of his own people and his adventures to get rid of the problem he has and feel the contact.
Positives:
1. The incredible hardwork of the Dir. Vidyadhar is clearly seen in each frame he directed with limited resources he had.
2. The Classic Shankar Mahadevan vocals playing in the background when Shankar is in full mood to achieve the maalipatra for leaves behind the mark in the movie.
3. The 3 characters speak a lot even though all of them get limited screen time.
Negatives:
1. Some loopholes
2. The plot twists were something that would easily get predicted if you are fond of the particular genre of the film (hollywood) but this was the very one of a kind in TFI which is the only thing matters.
3. The screenplay was good but it would be great to see if it was rushly paced in the 2nd half too feel the damn tense environment.
At the end it is a film every Cinephile must watch.
Dune: Part Two (2024)
Dune>>>Dune 2
May be i expected more regarding the vengeance but the vengeance felt too easy.
Timothee shines but Zendaya shines brighter.
The characters were not given proper time to explore them.
Some elevations work greatly but sometimes it misses.
Hans Zimmer gave them epic score but they selfishly used it don't know why the first part also has the same problem.
The antagonists were shown very cruel but they lose all the cruelty when they face Paul ATREIDES.
The elevation where he passes the prophecy test and the climax where Zendaya tries to prove herself is the GOAT cinematic experience.
The frames of Timothee in the battle shows how only frames can speak without uttering any word is damn amazing.
Otherwise I am bloody keen to watch dune 3 even though
Dune 2 was not that great as expected.
Ooru Peru Bhairavakona (2024)
Forgettable
It's a below average watch.
The only movie which I never discussed with my friends after watching it because there was nothing good about the movie.
The setup of BhairavKona was good were people with unfulfilled wishes get settled but sadly the direction and screenplay came out very poor.
Even after setting up a perfect scenario the movie never has the intent to show the events in a serious manner
The comedic punches ruined the whole movie.
The actors did an okayish job.
Only positive things were VFX and cinematography of the movie which felt good to watch otherwise the plot twists were not that good and climax was also forgettable.
Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024)
A Soul Satisfiying Film
A Soul Satisfiying Film.
I have no complaints with the movie it was completely entertaining with somewhat ignorable loopholes which is not a big deal if you want to get entertained.
The story looked like the subplot of Enthiran where a robot develops feelings for a human , but here it is the opposite of it where our lead falls in love with a robot with artificial feelings and the chaos happens in his life is what the story looks like.
The music was a great vibe in theatres if you missed it you missed a pretty good experience and tum se deserves great applause.
The direction was good but it would be better if he explored more areas about the complexities caused between a human - robot love relationships.
Shahid Kapoor in his fun zone and Kriti sanon looked like an angel and she did her work well.
You could stare at her in the whole movie and your paisa gets vasool.
The screenplay was great i felt no yawns incoming.
............ SPOILER.............
Finally hoping the second parts digs deeper about the conflicts faced between the relationship and how the relationship is further explored.
(would you chose a perfect being with no inner feelings
or an imperfect being with inner feelings )
Sapne Vs Everyone (2023)
Lost Its Theme Gradually
The Series started well and great initially like in the first 2 episodes the tracks played like chasing your dream and stuck in responsibilities and the tale of revenge felt too intense and intresting for me it would be great if the Series continued in the same tone but the tone completely shifted from heart to mind game. The tone went from Dream to Money Chasing at the end i felt like I seated for a drama inspirational series but it shifted to Real estate business series.
The story, character arcs and the dialogues and their placement were too artistic and aesthetic which added seriousness and art qualities to the Series which was the only outstanding quality of the series but others were lesser than good.
The lead actor who plays a drama artist felt too quiet and victim kind of guy and other was too alpha to be alpha.
He being the alpha didn't react the way he needs to react in some of the intense scenes which inturn is the direction fault.
If directed well would turn out to be a sure shot masterpiece but it was loosely Directed other wise it had all those things which needed for a masterpiece.
Fighter (2024)
Something is missing
Positives: The classy snowy visuals and the the aerial action scenes where the scene isn't cluttered and goes smooth as butter.
The acting of the cast which feels too natural as if they lived the characters they played.
The silent chemistry of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone , the way Deepika adores and admires about Hrithik when others speak of him was too natural.
The emotional scenes where Hrithik Roshan conveyed brilliantly through his eyes was the core of his character.
Sid Anand may miss his mark in other parts of film but he doesn't fall flat during the action episodes and is successful in maintaining the tension.
The title card placement which was amazing and completes the definition of what Patty thinks of himself.
Negatives : The story was the same Indo Pak war types but this time in aerial action type which is one of a kind in Indian cinema.
The music which was just too epic and patriotic for the film but doesn't get utilized perfectly. It had the power to make you feel patriotic make you feel rage and make you feel intense and feel emotional but sadly didn't get utilized properly.
The climax portion was too perfectly executed when it starts off as an aerial chase but when the antagonist and protagonist has a face-off it feels too rushed both combat scenes and the camera movements.
Hrithik's character as patty who is introduced as a hollow, broken, arrogant and a loner was just superficial just to show to the audience how patty is could have invested more in building his character.
I didn't feel it was crafted by Sid Anand because everytime I see his work I feel adrenaline rush but this time he explored the things in quite serious and dramatic ways. SOMETHING IS MISSING.
Guntur Kaaram (2024)
First half popcorn movie second half sleep time movie
First half was enjoyable because I decreased all my expectations after first review.
Otherwise the whole movie was not even 1% of my expectations.
Mahesh Babu was amazing the remaining cast was fun to match.
Looked like the whole movie was just made for timepass and second half was never written just directed randomly.
Mahesh Babu gave 101% to the movie where Trivikram made his 1%.
The song placement was complete mess which created interruptions in a movie which itself is a big interruption.
The story itself is a big blunder felt mashup of all the mother son sentimental movies.
And the first half completely gave Ala Vaikuntapuramlo vibes even the characters and their behaviour.
The backstory of the separation was itself a big joke and the movie had no point before proper foundation.
The climax was just cringe af.
Thaman used all the remaining OST of his old movies in this movie especially Ala Vaikuntapuramlo.
The mother son REUNION where you expect emotional breakdown felt a cringe romance between mother and son.
GIVE IT A TRY FOR FIRST HALF.
12th Fail (2023)
ADRENALINE RUSH
#restart
Firstly
The last 30 minutes were really amazing and emotional what a payoff that was.
The interview felt like I was the lead and I felt the same tension Vikrant Massey had absolutely masterclass.
Vikrant Massey's eyes speak throughout the cinema.
The friendship he had the inspirations he had the relations he got made his journey beautiful.
Just when restart starts playing in the background my mind just went into a adrenaline rush.
You get adrenaline rush watching action but here VVC generated adrenaline rush through drama.
The narration so beautiful I just had glimpses of 3 idiots in my mind.
But I feel the struggle of Vikranth Massey could be greatly improved as it felt everything just went smooth for him even though he suffered a lot.
Otherwise a great motivational movie.
Pippa (2023)
DIDN'T FEEL ANYTHING WATCHING THE MOVIE
I DIDN'T FEEL ANYTHING WATCHING THE MOVIE.
Don't know why after having a perfect cast, story,VFX and many other things director failed to showcase the tale of fighting for a independent country and the alliance of India and the enemy Pakistan.
The movie felt like the plot just needs to get forwarded just like that without building the story.
The actors immersed into the roles but the director failed and A. R Rahman also failed providing a patriotic score which would be the backbone of the movie.
Irrespective of having great VFX and war cinematography the war sequences felt too loose and felt like a theater play.
The director was great in creating the bond between the characters but couldn't create a huge impact.
If you want to know the history of Bangladesh you could watch it
Otherwise just ignore it.
Ghoomer (2023)
I AM SPINNING.....
I AM SPINNING FRIENDS
What a movie R Balki and OTT masterpieces are a match made in heaven, saiyami kher was superb and Abhishek in his 2.0 is just so good.
I didn't even watch the trailer just watched the movie when the zuck of the ball happened it was goosebumps for me.
Amit Trivedi's music never goes wrong there is nothing to say about him because his music can never go wrong.
Abhishekhs acting was as artistic as DQ's in CHUP
He being a drunkard scared me and Amitabh bachchan commentary was cherry on cake
The story was good
The music was great
The actors were great
The cinematography was good
The inspiration felt was great
Overall the movie was Great
The name how she got ghoomer was epic.
Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire (2023)
GOT
Neel take a bow
The way the world was build the way Prabhas was shown as a volcano inthe saga of claiming throne the territories of khansaar were itself so impressive and the climax was lit.
Positives:
1. The story of khansaar and the tale of friendship connected to it.
2. The smokey shots of devarath where you will witness mass rampage.
3. Calm deva who can explode any time when he loses his cool.
4. The editing which goes hand in hand with great cinematography.
5. Ravi basrur known for elevating scenes with his music does the same but here music starts low like a siren and then boom.
6. Direction - Gold level by Prasanth Neel.
7. Dialogues: where theatres erupted.
Negatives:(negligible)
The screenplay could have been more clear introducing the world in detailed way.
Dunki (2023)
Lies in between good and better
Between good and better but not great as Hirani sir does.
I would rank it 4th in Hirani's filmography.
The movie is based on dunki and the cast has their own stories especially SRK'S and Vicky kaushal's story were a cinema in itself the cast was outstanding but SRK and Vicky kaushal were great, SRK as Hardy is loveable , trustable and a great leader.
Positives:
The stories and their subplots
Cast and their performances
SRK
HIRANI
The frames were just like wallpapers I loved the scale and quality of the film.
Dialogues were a big plus where my heart melted and yes comedy worked but you won't burst out laughing.
Negatives:
Rushed screenplay took time to set up a story in 1St but then rushed in second half and also in emotional scenes
My tears were ready but just then the scene was cut.
Movie had great album but was wasted in the movie
And background score was not strong enough to support the emotionally loaded movie
Last words to say had a pleasant watch.
Haseen Dillruba (2021)
GOOD YET BAD CLIMAX
Had a good time watching this but still the film had a loose climax which was easy to guess and the whole point of the movie was the risk which was taken between both the leads but why was it actually needed when there was no such love between them.
Positives:
The film showcased the beauty of jawalpur and I was amazed at the cinematography
Vikranth Massey just nailed it with is great shades of acting.
Music by Amit Trivedi gave a beautiful touch to the movie.
The dialogues were poetic.
Negatives:
The lack of chemistry between the leads i felt it was lust rather than love if the chemistry was perfect then the risk would have been justifiable.
Give it a try and have a good time watching it.
Jubilee (2023)
GRANDEUR OF CINEMA
What a grandeur it was the epic of motwane that he picturised the series beautifully with beautiful music throughout the show with killer characters like Srikant Roy,Jay Khanna,Binod das and Jamshed Khan the first half was well crafted but after interval it was too stretched but last episode took a good jump.
The transition of Roy talkies from a flourished studio to an abandoned place was heart breaking.
Good series but could have been masterpiece if it was directed well in the second half.
Positives:
The epic storyline of the birth of cinema during pre independence.
The cinematography which makes you a part of the scene.
The characters which connect your heart.
With beautiful music and dialogues.
Negatives:
Second half could've been cutted well and directed well.
Hi Nanna (2023)
BASIC AS HELL...
Positives:
Hesham's music was soul touching but again it didn't feel as the cinema was bland just like kushi.
2nd half worked great in parts.
Small mahi over shadowed the presence of all the actors.
Cinematography was like a cool breeze felt good for this movie it helped in setting a right tone.
Negatives:
Story was basic as hell felt same with screenplay.
First half was stretched.
The plot twists didn't feel like they were twists at all didn't feel the suspense even a little bit .
Overall the film didn't satisfy and was not upto the mark.
I prefer watching something new everytime I get seated at theatre but this wasn't expected.
Rakhta Charitra (2010)
PRETTY OUTDATED.
Negatives:
The same old repeated story , with unpopular message nothing new to its flavour.
Poor direction.
Easily could have been cutted 20 minutes.
POSITIVES:
only the acting by the cast and fierce ful background music and songs felt some positive things in the whole film.
Bheeshmaparvam (2022)
MASS DONE RIGHT
NEGATIVES:
Not so gripping story instead that mediocre one.
Not something new.
POSITIVES:
being a simple story it was executed so well.
Well made cinematic experience.
Acting performances no mouth to say everyone nailed it.
Direction was so perfect and screenplay too didn't notice how the time passed.
Music of this is spine chilling and gives you adrenaline rush.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013)
PRETTY OVERRATED
Positives:
Good acting performances.
One of the best cinematic shots.
Heartwarming dialogues.
Soulful songs.
Negatives:
Good story premise but halfly written and unexplored
Didn't found it to be that good.
Watch it for time pass.
Screenplay felt drag at many places.
Nothing new.
Jungle Cruise (2021)
MEDIOCRE AT INFINITY.
Good story in wrong hands.
Was never having any expectations from it.
Wonder if direction was good and screenplay too it would be great.
Good acting performances with humorous punches.
Good cinematography and VFX.
The Family Man (2019)
OH MAN !
Story is jaw dropping.
Masterpiece since the trailer arrived.
Wonderful theme.
Powerful acting and Manoj Bajpayee is treat for eyes.
Simple and good cinematography and effects.
Soothing music which implies for characters.
What a wonderful Direction.
Simply beautiful and thrilling
A MUST WATCH.
Runway 34 (2022)
BEST OF THE BEST
First of all let's appreciate the dare for experimental movie and perfectly written story.
Characters are the main element and life of the movie. Ajay Devgan totally badass.
Top class acting which feels you gripping all over.
The cold war among Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgan was epic.
What a cool cinematography.
It could have been the best cinematic experience but missed it.
Good VFX but could be more realistic.
The music is the backbone which makes you feel tensed.
Brilliant direction by Ajay Devgan.
Nevertheless best aviation thriller made in Indian cinema.
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
AMAZED
Not a unique storyline but screenplay made it good.
The ultimate hype was satisfied.
Movie looks symbolic.
Great acting performances by every one.
After watching this STARLORD became one of my favourite superhero.
Dialogue writing was gold bit of humour in each line.
Awesome cinematography and effects.
Perfect retro music played as background which gives an intend.
Kudos to detection and finally this is a must watch movie .
RRR (Rise Roar Revolt) (2022)
OVERHYPED?
The plot seem to be interesting but the story is not.
Movie looks promising but only at some levels.
And some good patriotic gestures.
No doubt from the cast they will make you feel what they are going through with their great acting performances.
Some great dialogue writing but it lacks some great inner feel.
Great cinematography and editing.
Background score could be improvised.
Great direction and larger than life action mangte this film a good one time watchable cinema.
But the only drawback is it's runtime which makes you feel bored but only at some point of the movie.
