Love, Death & Robots (2019)
Prey on Your Curiosity
A series of unrelated episodes. Without a development from the beginning of a story as a background setting, they're just drop you to some point in the story and finishing it up usually with half closure. Sometimes with satisfying progress or sometimes ending closure. Anyway these are each in the category of short film. Some are interesting and some were just midling. It's like they ripped an interesting part of a full film, but only the interesting part -- according to the writers.
I wonder if these were written for people with short attention span. Anyway most of the animations graphic are of good quality.
Locke & Key (2020)
Forced plots that preying on your Credulity
I had enough when one of the main characters divulge the secret of the power of a key when it's not necessary. There is no way in the world that there are characters that naive and looked naive. With the production this good, too bad that the writing is not be able to match it.
Chapelwaite (2021)
What makes a film a good watch?
A family moves to a mansion because of inheritance. Town folks don't like them and don't want them in their town. A writer is writing a story about the mysterious family is trying to get closer to them by working as governess.
Having a good storyline doesn't necessary make it a good watch, especially one that developed from a book. Personally, the interesting elements and "magic" feeling, are more important. That said I heard it'll be better in later episodes. So probably I will update rating and review later. But should we wait to be entertained later, instead from the starts?
Mare of Easttown (2021)
Cheap Trends Nowadays
Some girls missing. One found dead, a bullet to the head
Got you hooked up. Expected a twist from the like of this type of series
(but) The diversion is cheap. And promoting e-cigarette?
The Woman in the Window (2021)
What to expect
Woman inside the house across the street is stabbed. Anna (Adams) witnessed it from inside her house through windows
Parts good ideas, parts ridiculous. It can be annoying to watch Anna so adamantly try to put herself in danger. It's a movie that you watch in a cinema, that in which part of you is being intrigued, and the other part is in inertia. When it's ended, you walk through corridor, still disoriented, and then you think for your next activity, and then you forget this movie ever exist.
Underneath (1995)
Short Guide to Underneath
Michael (Gallagher) left his hometown after making a mess. Such, leaving Rachel, her wife to take care it. Later, he comeback to his hometown
Underneath is a slow burner tragedy, where nothing are well, as the guy makes risky choices instead good ones. Pay attention to the switches from the present to past to truly follow the story. And it's a kinda slow at the start.
The Serpent (2021)
Revolting Anti-hero
Disgusting antihero. What's with drugging, little bit here and there. What's with the embassy's employee, Herman, so obsessed with catching the antihero.
