Family Guy: You Can't Handle the Booth (2019)
Literally the worst episode
The rating says it all, I hate how the episode is "what happens if the characters do director's commentary for an episode". Honestly I'm not a fan of director's commentary, I want to watch a movie, not hear about how and why you made it. You couldn't even hear the episode cause they talk over it and it's annoying. Peter didn't tell Lois about him paying alimony to his first wife or that he was married before and that's the conflict of the episode, but having the actors come into the booth and saying that they're not real is stupid, like oh our marriage is saved as we aren't real. The jokes didn't land for me either as most of the episode is them talking about the episode there doing commentary for and at the end it's meta jokes as Chris (and Lois) give there actors compliments, "haha I make my character say nice things about me" isn't funny.
Overall a terrible episode, my least favorite episode. The way that they could have made this better is if they just released the episode they did the commentary on, without the commentary.
Family Guy: Trump Guy (2019)
Political humor not done right
This is an okay episode, a good fight scene but that's really the only thing good about it. The jokes in the episode are really one sided, I get that Seth is a liberal but I expected them to at least cover the conservative side of things. The way that they drew Trump was either funny or offensive depending on where you stand. The way, that they made his hair, his skin, all funny or offensive. They even touched on the topic that some of the presidents had an affair, all of this is liberal humor. Not even me, a liberal myself, liked how one sided the episode was, it didn't feel like a debate with 2 sides. I put this episode into a grey area, sorta funny but badly written.
Family Guy: Petarded (2005)
An excellent episode
This episode of Family Guy is my favorite so I may seem a little biased. The episode showed that Peter is mentally disabled and he thinks that he can do anything because he is, hijinks ensue and a lesson is learned. The episode also has some of the best jokes in the series, such as: "so your going to talk down to everyone because you won a game of trivial pursuit? Perhaps."
I also get that some of the things Peter does and says is offensive to some, but it's just to add a little humor to a serious topic, Family Guy is not a drama but a comedy and should be treated as a comedy that might have some dark jokes in it. The writers didn't mean to offend anyone with the story and jokes in the episode. The comedy in this episode might not be your style of humor if you can laugh at tragedy.
Overall this episode is nicely written, funny, and one of the best episodes of the series.
