My daughter and her friends didn't finish it
13 March 2022
Interesting. I thought my 14 year old & her 13 yr old friend would have loved this movie. We waited for it to come out and they had a movie night. 3/4 of the way through they were bored and switched to the Nintendo switch. They said they didn't really "get" what the point of the story was and they lost interest. Head scratcher. I need to watch it myself but if the target audience don't enjoy it - is it really for them?

Too much detail to fit in...
11 January 2020
This show had too many stories to tell, and I think it fell down because of it. I wasn't sure which thread they were trying to follow. Is that the fault of the director? The editor? And the facial appliances on Nicole Kidman were a distraction from the story. Charlize Theron did not pull off Megan Kelly's deep voice convincingly. John Lithgow was excellent and played the repellant and paranoid Roger Ailes to a tee. Margot Robbie was excellent as well & had the easiest job (in some ways) because she was playing a fictional amalgamation of different young, millennial staffers - without having to look like any real person in particular.

Where is their house?
13 January 2007
Watched this film again recently on TBS.

Loved the movie. I think I enjoyed it more years later.

We watched it again recently & even though it is a teen flick rework of a classic - Heath & Julia are great in this film.

Also fun to see the younger version of _______ (from Numbers)

However - where in Seattle is that house? The wrap-around porch is AMAZING! My wife wants to go look at the area around their house when we're next in Seattle.

If anyone can tell us where the house is - we'd really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance!

Like "Best in Show"? You'll love this film....

Like "Best in Show"? You'll love this film.... A hilarious improv film in the vein of "Best in Show", "Waiting for Guffman" - featuring the style and players from Spinal Tap. (NOTE: the same actors playing "Spinal Tap" actually also opened for "Spinal Tap" in the guise of "The Folksmen" when they did their brief live Spinal Tap tour). The movie is excellent - Eugene Levy & Catherine O'Hara steal the show in the reunion of "Mitch & Mikey". Very subtle humour - the DVD commentary by Christopher Guest & Eugene Levy reveals great information for fans of these films and this genre. Harry Shearer (of Simpsons & Spinal Tap fame) is also great and has a surprise twist at the end. Actors actually sang and played all music live - some of them learning new instruments for the movie. Fred Willard (love him or hate him) gives a great & strange performance as the wacko band manager for "The New Main Street Players".... Watch this movie - you won't be sorry...

Waste of 2 hours of my life
4 September 2001
There were about 10 funny moments in this film. We actually counted. I was so bored I spent my time looking for continuity bloopers. My friend (who laughs all the time at most anything) was actually upset at the end of this movie. We got the tickets for free - and we were still upset at having wasted 2 hours of our lives.

This movie was worse than Godzilla. I don't understand how a talented cast like this and a director who has been involved in some great comedies - could have made this STINKER!!!
