Argylle (2024)
Silly and campy
This was enjoyed. They leaned into the campiness of the show. Fun and over the top!
It's doesn't take itself too seriously, and it felt like a stupid spy novel. As long as you don't go into expecting an amazing movie that has no plot holes, and it's really serious, you will enjoy it. You can tell they had so much fun making it, and it came through in their performances. Visually stunning, the cinematography is fantastic! I also love that BDH was normal sized in this movie and didn't become a stick figure in 4 inch high heels. They actually gave her boots!
Sam rockwell always does well in goofy action movies like this.
This Fool (2022)
What a fun show
This had a great napoleon dynamite feel to it. Really great all around show. The cinematography, writing, performances and direction all shine in this. Really hope it gets a second season.
A Discovery of Witches (2018)
Badly done
This show is like waiting in line for a rollercoaster for 3 hours only to find out it goes 2 mph for about 20 seconds. Huuuuuuge build up of the enemies, to have the final showdown last about 2 min. Total insult to the characters we invested hours and hours into.
A Discovery of Witches: Episode #3.7 (2022)
An insult to the whole story line
3 seasons to build up all these enemies, and then they ruin the ending. It's like standing in line for a roller coaster for 3 hours to have it be 20 seconds long and about 2 mph.
Dexter: New Blood: Sins of the Father (2022)
How else could it have ended
From most of the reviews, people are just upset that the show ended. Dexter says MULTIPLE times during the original series that people like him never get happy endings. Which he didn't. Regardless of what could have happened, he abandoned his code because he wanted to be with his son. He gave up his life so his son could live his. Both endings (the original and this one) were awesome. Dexter doesn't deserve a happy ending, because at the end of the day, was a psychopath serial killer. I'm sad the series is over, but so happy we got a little more.
Gunpowder Milkshake (2021)
Great! Exactly what you expect!
No, it's not a masterpiece. It's a shoot em up movie! It's exactly what you want in a movie with gratuitous violence. Get off your high horses you bougie 1 star folks! I'm sure you guys are the same people who wanted Kong vs Godzilla to be "woke".
This is actually beautifully shot. Cinematography is incredible, and the performances are fantastic!
