Helsreach: The Movie (2019)
psychology, memory, and explosions!!
Very few times does the "method" of delivering a visual scene directly impact the mood and status of the protagonist. During mundane daily activity the video feed is black and white, splotchy, and severely amateurish despite the fact that it retains its artistic integrity. From there however, the film itself.. slowly molds itself into a completely different creature as you get closer and closer to actual combat, gaining colors, blurring edges become crisp, the attenuation giving way to vivid and utterly chilling detail. The story is bland if not straight forward, people coming to grips with being assigned a suicide mission and coming to their own terms with it, however you don't really care, having been lost inside this whole new world of Grim-Dark.....
