The Brady Bunch: Two Petes in a Pod (1974)
I'll go the first reviewer one better.....
I agree that this is the craziest plot line yet, but as for the question about anybody in school noticing, this is explained on their first meeting as the other guy having conveniently "just moved in". That, to me, at least, shows even more desperation. You know when you hear a line like this that even the writer knows how bad it is.
This is towards the end of the run, and I can see why Robert Reed had decided he'd had enough. Sherwood Schwartz obviously recycled this plot device from Gilligan's Island, where it was used, not once, but three times. But at least we knew Gilligan's Island was pure hooey. The Brady Bunch was supposed to be a comedic look at blended family life.
My Three Sons: Inspection of the Groom (1967)
Much Better than the Previous Episode
This is more like it. Reminds me of the way I met my wife. We were considerably older, but we got engaged after about two weeks, and in less than two years we'll be celebrating our 20th anniversary. And the family and friend reactions are very realistic. Much better.
My Three Sons: Robbie Loves Katie (1967)
What were they thinking?
I have to say that I think it was great that they chose to bring Robbie and Katie together. But of the entire meeting to marriage cycle, this episode has got some of the worst writing and contrived plotlines. I mean, we know Robbie is going to marry Katie. In the episode that precedes this one, he's imagining seeing her in a wedding gown. And considering he's presumably a junior in College, he's a little old for his dad and Uncle Charlie to be discouraging him from dating only one girl. Steve sure didn't do that with Mike and Sally. It's like they knew where the story arc was going, but didn't know how to get it there.
