She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)
Seems fun, girls do it better detracts.
Just finished watching the first episode and can say I enjoyed it enough. I'm not overly fussed about CGI like others and thought they actually pulled it off ok. The series seems to have the potential to improve especially with the promise of more weird and obscure characters.
My main issue of course would be Marvel and Disney's insistence on scripts that pander to feminism and that every plot point and motivation of a female character derives from men holding them down. Yes this is the ongoing theme of the negative review bombing on here, but I still managed to find some enjoyment out of the show regardless of the cringe lines and pandering. The insistence in making fun and criticising the hero's that built this franchise can be repetitive aswell.
I will be watching the whole series to get my my marvel fix and I'm really hoping that the She-Hulk character grows to be more likeable than she is in the first episode.
Spidey and His Amazing Friends (2021)
PJ Masks with Spider-Man
The title of my review sums it up perfectly.
Although I think PJ Masks is a very boring and hammy show I actually enjoyed Spidey for what it is. As a massive marvel fan and more notably a spider-man fan being able to see my 3 year old son enjoy it and get more and more in to Spider-man is a treat. My son seems to giggle at the villains like Rhino and Goblin, but I find female Doc Ock to be very annoying as her dialogue is very cheesy and guilty of the same issues some of the PJ masks villains have.
The life lesson stuff I can find to be very grating as well, as much as the show is for pre-schoolers you and your child will be bludgeoned with a particular word or lesson that I feel treats children with not enough respect. This repeats some of the shortcomings of the marvel superhero adventure shorts that are also on disney plus, it just comes across as lazy writing for a pre school show when you hammer in lessons. As someone said in another review the show should just entertain and sell toys let's be honest.
In summary the show is enjoyable enough and has a catchy theme song. It's nice to see Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen get more media attention since the successful Into the Spider-verse animated movie as well. This is enjoyable for Marvel fans passing on their love to their kids.
